I sometimes think that if the guy walked down the street giving away £10 notes some fans would complaign it wasnt £20.

Apparently the debt is going down
Recognise the need for a leader on the pitch
Intervenes when he sees there is a problem and feels it in the club interests

What did you want, that you didn't get

Yes but when faced with a direct question about the debt, £200m+ broken down into specific chunks, they refused to answer and said "it's all fine, believe us".

Well appoint the right manager or recruit the players they feel fit the squad ?

Basically Duxbury admitted most squads in recent times had been unmotivated and lacking mentally.

    Surely we can see that.

Yes and who is responsible for that type or squad and player recruiting?

That is the point being made.

The hierarchy take no real blame or accept some responsibility for what has gone all infer their watch .

They were never going to stand up and beg for mercy! fans looking for a pound of flesh were never going to get it! and what would it achieve anyway?!

Bigbadbear: 'What the ****k Gino, you just took out a machete and sliced my hand off, why did you do that!?!?'

Gino: 'Incorrect; I simply noticed a problem and felt it was in your interest to intervene'

Bigbadbear: 'Oh, I didn't realise - how wonderful! Thank you! :)'

    I thought it was positive.

Debt down, agreement to talk more at my place events and a better understanding of how they are operating.

Not perfect, but far better than many, GIVE GINO A BREAK and lets do our job of supporting our Team.

I think Deeney has shot himself in the foot and highlighted the problem with the players.

I think I'll wait to see what the next set of published accounts have to say before I am so sanguine about accepting their bland, unsupported assurances.
We now await the next communique stating we've initiated another £xyz loan from MacQuarrie.

Out of interest, what are your expectations for the team next season? What league position would be acceptable to you?

It is a difficult one, because there are so many things at this stage that we simply dont know. We don't seem to have announced any new signings and Sarr hasn't gone yet.
I hope and believe that we will end up with a competitive top 6 team. Time will tell

I got a lot of stick over my defence of Gino, most things that happened at the meeting seems to suggest that I was right.

Time to see what team we end up with and get behind them.

Porteous for captain for me but I guess it depends who we sign.

Saying something is one thing, delivering on it however, is an entirely different kettle of fish. Watford fans' have been lied to enough to know an promise is worth nothing from the top brass of this club until we can see the proof.

While hesitating to re-generate the thread it is interesting that quoting the https://www.capology.com/club/watford/salaries/ website again it looks as if we have already saved around £10,000,000 in salaries alone over a single year.

While clearly we will incur additional expenditure for the `new hires` we have also benefited from a substantial capital injection from the transfer fees.

How many of us would settle for an aggressive and competitive playing style in the Championship for the immediate future?

Yes, that will tend to happen if you sell your best players and don’t replace them.

It's sort of low reward but high risk. If we got promoted at the first time of asking then brilliant. All those new deals pay off and we get the extra injection of PL money to help with extra costs. If it fails, and we have players who are no good on long and expensive contracts, we regress back to where we used to be. I would much prefer we play the cautious game of getting a squad motivated and wanting to play for Watford, with the reward of Premiership fooball if we are good enough. You get found out very quickly in the Championship if your plan isn't wroking anymore, and an agressive approach is probably the exact ethic most teams will employ. Us not being "the team to beat" anymore could also work in our favour. Fan expectation is a lot lower than it has been for a while, and if we do well this season, it would be a nice surprise especially considering the last few years of dumpster fire football from a bunch of shirkers.

I know that we haven't really seen much football from the friendlies but everyone knew we needed a reset. We have one, and we have an inexperienced at the moment squad, we have got rid of a lot of players. I would be happy to see a side with more energy, probably less skill but if they came of the pitch having given their all and shown they cared, I would be happy.
I want the side to win every game like most of us.
We appear to have saved a fortune in wages, reset the team, I guess/hope there is more to come, have been told finances are in good shape and they are putting in better communications and even Gino is talking to us. It looks like I was right when I told you to give Gino a break.

Just because I had a different opinion to most people on this list and most of what I said has been proved correct that does not make me a troll.
I am normally quite happy to quietly enjoy the babter and read along quietly but it had all got way too viscious and nasty

I'd say finances are "in better shape" rather than "good shape" and the team resetting will be complete when we have added a few more new faces.
