if you want some good football bets this guy always goes for big odds but does lots of them, and from what ive seen it actually works, though he has to wait quite a while for each win https://betfect.com/profile/bettor/Piedpiper9

Not sure if this is the correct thread to ask this, there is someone on here that knows his stuff, forgot his name again, but I see Ladbrokes are merging with Coral and Betair are merging with Paddy Power, Coral and Paddy Power are not happy to take my sports but Betfair and Ladbrokes are, after the mergers will they put their databases together and noticed I have been flagged and all four will no longer want to take my money? or could it go the other way and all four will want my business?

I did read in the trade magazine that in the case of Ladbrokes they will maintain the Coral estate as it is. If anything the odd Coral shop may close if it is too close to a Ladbrokes shop but local councils (certainly in England) have been less inclined to issue many more A3 shop unit licences recently so by keeping a nearby shop open for the sake of not allowing BetFred, say, from opening a shop in the same premises later on.

I don't know anything about Paddy Power and Betfair merger, but in both merger cases I would assume that it is highly unlikely that any databases would be merged. Simply the logistics of doing so would not be cost effective particularly as in the case of Ladbrokes and Corals their software comes from different suppliers and as far as I know use different database engines.

Having said that, it would be likely that trading managers from both firms will remain in place because (a) very good ones are hard to replace if they leave, and (b) to your possible detriment they may share information about "troublesome" punters. But until that day happens I suggest you don't worry about it. As you appear to be black listed you ought to think about placing cash bets in shops (including spreading the outlay between a couple of branches)

BUT be aware there is a database of mugshots that are usually shared between branches in a particular geographical area with specific information, this usually relates to fraudulent punters such as slow-counters or filling in ambiguous betting slips, however I have seen some that may say something like "ACCEPT no greyhound bets from this man [+mugshot] usually seen in Birmingham shops".

Thanks very much for that, The first I knew of the paddy power bet fair merger was when I just made a deposit and it mentioned it, if those companies odds are a lot better will go to my local bookies, just all the hassle, I am definitely not a fraudulent punter and only bet big at the start of the season when the handicap points can make a lot of difference or odds are worth the hassle and will make sure I don't go to the same bookies.

Thanks again for your advice, much appreciated, i though I may have been turned down by all four once they communicate with each other.

Out of interest what is a "slow counter"

More likely for greyhound racing, but it's someone who's placed their betting slip on the counter just seconds before a race starts; the staff member scans it quick because the race is just starting and at the same time the customer pretends to rummage around his pockets in order to find the right change; the race starts and if their greyhound is last out of the traps/or at the first bend they turn away and say no thanks; obviously if their greyhound is leading at the first bend they pay the money.

Thanks again, learn something new every day, the cashiers must have to really be on the ball in these shops, cant believe how low some people will go!

Betfair will always accept any bet because you're betting against other punters and not their book.

Thanks for that, they do have a fixed odds website as well now that started about a year or two ago.

Don't be too naive about Betfair, yes in some cases it is punter against punter but the business began as a method for bookies to hedge liabilities against other bookies.

I've been at our trade show "International Casino Exhibition" this week, as far as I've heard part of the paddy Power and Betfair merger a lot of senior management will be made redundant from both businesses. Paddy Power wanted more control over the fixed odds side of Betfair, with that in mind a lot of knowledge from both businesses will be shared. So if you're black listed by Paddy Power don't be too surprised if your account is suspended by Betfair within 6 months. This wouldn't normally happen as I explained yesterday but Paddy Power's business model revolves around the concept of every part of their business is treated as a single entity.

I may have more news about this in the coming weeks but in my 18 years in the industry I've never had dealings with Betfair before and I don't personally know anyone there.

Thanks Otter. I've heard of a lot of people being banned from the Betfair fixed odds site for bonus abuse but never one from the exchange side.

Thanks again for some excellent advice, not what i wanted to hear but kind of expected it, I can understand why bookies ban people, but wish they were more honest about it, not just saying they don't have to give an answer, the only one that said they closed my account because I beat them was Stan James and were very sorry.

Also if any fancies a long shot for the six Nations Owne Farrell 66/1 to be ENGLAND top try scorer, worth a cheeky E/W bet as he is starting at centre and does get a few tries even from Fly Half, two to three tries could get him a place

Yup. Probably 10-15 runs under posting a challenging total for Windies to chase and now bowling and fielding in a very mediocre way. I know he's world class but I've no idea what the plan was/is for Gayle.

I think I've worked it out. The plan was to play to his strengths and let him do whatever he wants.

Anyone got any masters bets? Speith was 10/1 E/W, which I thought was ridiculous value. The way he's started it'll take a big collapse for him not to at least place.

Yea, I always spread my bets out with an outlay of £25.

    Golfers in with a chance:
    Spieth
    Day
    Walker
    Matsuyama
    Fitzpatrick
    Koepka

    Golfers out of it:
    Scott
    Kirk
    Fowler
Els (what a way to start your round..)
    Moore
    Reed

EDIT: When I wrote this Day was -5 fs

Had fiver E/W on him too, been a train wreck betting wise. My only very vague hope of a place is Oosthuizen now. However he'd have to play the round of his life, then assault at least 5 players above him with his driver to get near a place today I think.
