Gambling Thread

I'm sure we used to have one? I only bet on Football, except for the National, as I know bugger all about other sports. I'm not a big gambler either tonight I've got Huddersfield away at Cardiff at 4/1, Luton away at Hyde at 4/5 and the double at 8/1.

 

I used to gamble on football etc but realised it's just money loss in small chunks that adds up to quite a sizeable amount. It's fun though and does keep me occupied and gives me something to care about when other games i usually wouldn't come on.

 

Like yourself i only really bet on football and even then it's just an acca or two every saturday with a one or two pound stake. Won ***** all last season, one day i'll get a winner.

 

Won just the one accumulator in my time, £1 turned into £80 but other than that they're very irritating but good fun

 

Had a 50p 8 fold accy on tuesday,was all going nicely until Stockport scored two late goals to beat Grimsby and me thinking what I could have spent that £50 on.

 

I only bet 50p at a time. Most I've ever won is £8.50 not bad for a 50p bet though!

I have an accy, Cardiff, Luton and some random portuguese team think it's about 1/12

 

instead of trying to pick winners in accumulators maybe at prices of 4/6 etc ( i.e odds on) play the both teams to score coupoms.

william hill coupon last season gave you a choice of both teams to score or not and the accy could include both options..

eg tomoz

fulham - both teams to score
Palace both teams not to score
etc etc etc

ha ha ha had me first bet of the season and its a stoopid mad bet - 1000/1 shot in the cardiff v Huddersfield game.

if it comes in I'll pay for simmsy to have a s.hag with a brass over in Amsterdam - expenses paid.

Accumulators rarely come in, I tend to back a team to win, I tend to look for easy wins with short odds, it's all profit. Was over £100 up last season and it started with a £1 bet on Watford to win 2-0 away at Leeds. I'm backing Huddersfield tonight as I just have a hunch and 4/1 is a ridiculous price for team with Jordan Rhodes in it. Pissed off that I bottled backing Bosnia to beat Wales on Tuesday after looking at the probable teams at 6/4.

 

I should be there in a few weeks again. Maybe buy you a pint next time.

Better accumulators on double chance, that is either watford or draw, although low odds are steady ways to bring in money.

Rhodes is 15/8 anytime scorer. Good odds.

just bet 2.80 on cardiff to win for my first bet of the footy season. working on an accy tomo.

 

You might know buggetr all in other sports, but the still know loads more than you about football. I only really bet when I'm a neutral to make it more interesting.

Just won my first bet of the season! Put 50p on Cardiff, Luton and Olhanense? some portuguese team and won myself £7.50 :drinking:

 

Today I'm going for QPR to beat Swansea @ 20/21 and Forest to beat Bristol City @ 4/5, then an accumulator of those two with Sheffield United, Cheltenham and Southend.

 

Just a small Accy for me today.

Arsenal and Brum to win, Fulham QPR and Watford to draw

 

Luckily Forest won which had the majority of my money on it so I was still up in the end, just.

 

Had QPR, Blackpool, MK, Doncaster and Sheff Utd today £1 on would have won me £31 but QPR are *****ing terrible, 4 out of 5 gives me hope for the rest of the season though :]]

won my accy today. 80p stake won me 5.70 plus my stake back: fulham (thank you paddy), leicester, mk dons and rotherham.

 

As we know from the Euro's betting game this is my expert field, and I had a pretty successful start to the season.

Fiver on us to win when we drifted to 10/1 at 2-1 and a Swansea, Arsenal draw, West Ham and Leeds accumulator.

I did however lose a tenner on what is going to be the value bet this season, Paddy Power have Murray at 16/1 for fgs, (last season was around 6's by the end of the season), get on this every game until it goes.

 

Just need MCFC to win the second half and I'll be £20 up this season

 

actually the value bet is Martin Taylor any time scorer at 13/1 ( was with Paddys on satirday, others as lowe as 7/1) - tipped it up on my betting forum - last season my wfc profit was 37pts for the season... i.e tips only on wfc matches.

not a bad start this season either.

It's a closed shop betting forum, with professional and all sorts of clever barstewards involved ( far to clever for me but taught me about value and value losing - yeah sound silly that losing is acceptable but a vlaue loser is.) - memebrship is by recommendation/invite as such. My brother got me in a few years ago becuase of my knowledge of wfc. My thread is doing very well on the site..

LOL a couple of years ago when wfc played away at Coventry i tipped up that I thought wfc would win as they were not completetly safe from relegation and would attack but due to defence it would be a high scoring game and recommended 3-2 to wfc - i even wrote down the likely scorers - wfc won 3-2 and the scorers were in the exact order i had written - got some applause for that - lol...

 

It's ok Pads, I made up my loss on the City game yesterday in play
