Unfortunately, neither have our defenders for most of this season.

Shame that we haven't given ourselves a fighting chance because Leeds look awful, and still no ETA on the return of Bamford

I think we can still stay up as long as none of the three currently in the drop zone with us do not break clear and open up a significant gap from us.

In order to prevent that happening we all know what we need and that is....

1/7 with Corals to be relegated which is about right in my opinion. Sadly I think we will finish bottom.

I was hoping the odds would be much bigger than that. Shame the forum don’t set the odds as I’m sure it would be 1,000,000,00-1 and I’d definitely take a punt on that. 3-1 is not enough reward for being brave and backing us.

Well why are the odds so low if we are as useless as doomed as many of you claim we are?

You would think the bookies would be giving us better odds so that we would be keen to waste our money backing us to stay up.

Well after bookies margin real odds about 4-1. So they are saying 80% of that time we go down. That’s a fairly likely probability and feels about right?

I think I got 12/1 on us to go down after we beat Newcastle in 19/20 and we still went down, so 3/1 seems entirely logical.

I want to put money the forum odds, not the bookies odds.

I’m not going to put money on my own odds, because I think we have a chance. I want one of the regular no hopers to set it, as it would be very attractive.

Odds on the exchanges are roughly 4-1 on us staying up. I'd say that is slightly wrong and would put it closer to 6-1. I'll give you 5-1, max bet £10

But how much of a chance do you think we have? I’m genuinely curious.

I think we have a chance. I think we’ll go on a good run and will take 20 points. Trouble is, we can’t control other clubs and what they do.

I think we could get 35 points. Will that be enough? That’s the question.

With the Saudi Gymnasts winning it’s probably going to take more than optimism to get us out of this one.

It’s going to take two of HornetBoy’s seven wins just to get us onto the shoulders of 17th place now, and that’s assuming they don’t pick up any more points in the meantime. While it may not be mathematically impossible, probability is stacked against us.

Do we survive? No, we do not

Any chance we had went with the Norwich game. A game we HAD to win against a team in the same battle as us and we simply didn't turn up for it. Norwich wanted it more and applied themselves correctly and 100% deserved what they got that evening

We are as good as relegated.

I’d say our chances lie somewhere between staying up in 2006/07 and reaching the play-offs in 2013/14.

Not very convinced we will score another goal at this rate!

This was HB's gem at the start of this thread:

"Here are 9 games I think we possibly could win:
    Newcastle (a), Burnley (a), Norwich (h), Palace (h), Brentford (h), Everton (h), Leeds (h), Brighton (h), Burnley (h)"

To date, we have 2 points from his predicted 12. Ignore the nonsense he spouts! He's trolling us all.

    Another of HB's gems:
"West Ham away, for me is a real possible game where we could win. Their form has dipped a little recently. They lost at home to Leeds, lost at United and really struggled against Kidderminster. Going to extra time won't be helpful to them either.

No one thinks we'll win that, but I have a sneaky feeling we will, then will follow it up with another win against Brighton at home. "

Utter bull*hit, HB. Great predictions - never take up betting!!

My god. What an utter **** this HB must be.

Please continue your research on a Sunday evening and post some more HB quotes. I’m really interested to know more.

I went to Spam and thought we put up a good show . Dangerous on the break and limited WHU to a few chances . I thought BHA bring it on ! . But we were shyte against , IMO, bog standard oppo.
I am starting to lose faith .

I think we now just need to focus on winning the mini league at the bottom. Each place is worth £1.9m so finishing 18th will mean an extra £3.8m compared to finishing bottom. This will go some way towards offsetting the £100m revenue lost, the fire sale of any assets, as well as fully vindicating Gino for shuffling a CB on a free from his own club and signing a blimp at LB as an attempt to strengthen our defence.

    This is what's left.

    Villa A
    Palace H
    Man U A
    Arsenal H
    Southampton A
    Everton H
    Liverpool A
    Brentford H
    Leeds H
    Man City A
    Burnley H
    Palace A
    Leicester H
    Chelsea A

The very very best scenario is to manage 6 points from the remaining away games which is still less than 1 point per game, but then take a good look at them.

Then it's all about the home games. Again being ridiculously generous we can beat Palace, Brentford, Leeds & Burnley, then draw against Arsenal, Everton and Leicester making 15 points, (can I remind you what happened at home to Brighton and Norwich). We all know that won't happen so remove, (at a minimum), 3 points from that lot making 12 points from the home games.

12 home points plus 6 away points would give us a grand total of 33, which could be enough but it's an absolute best case scenario.

Sorry but that's not going to happen.

What is it now, 2 points from the last 33 available? No goals in 6 hours of football?

Don't worry though because we're getting better! We got a point against the only side below us in the table so that's a positive. We managed two shots on target in 180 minutes against West Ham and Brighton as well so Roy is starting to get the attack firing now.

If everyone on here just said nicer things about Gino, Scott, Roy and the team I'm sure we'd start making hundreds of chances and will stay up with ease.

    COYH!
