Fair enough point, but then we couldn't manage to beat either Birmingham or Rotherham. Yes, they were both away, indeed, but that in part comes down to how much credit/impact you're prepared to imbue the difference between home and away with.

Wasn't a comment on us, just Norwich.

    A fair bit, imo.

Nice use of imbue, stealing that

As they said sadly the player had to go down to get the foul.

    Sure, fair.

Recognising you weren't commenting on us, I think that's where we differ, as I look at the two basically identikit performances today and on Tuesday and don't see any real difference currently; certainly not one particularly affected by it. I think our issues are our issues wherever we are.

Hopefully, focusing on Norwich, they do find that distinction impactful rather soon!

I don't disagree with you. But I think the (small) differences in points totals this early in the season, with so many games to go is not the problem. But, watching the performances, this is where I struggle to foresee a glorious season:
We have such a patchy squad, with several very good players and several really quite poor (or inappropriate) players at this level. And the biggest worry I have is that we are playing so slowly and without conviction. I am hoping this will come right in the next few games, as Edwards starts to get them better organised and more fired-up. So far, the signs are not great.

We've kept Sarr and JP until at least January, we've got Davis, Hause and Choudhury on loan, that's all great, but the season will start for us in earnest when Louza gets back, if we can stay in touch until then we have a chance

We'll get better i think as law of averages says we won't start sloppy in games all season. We didn't have Davis starting in them games either. Bayo has started scoring. Pedro looks a bundle of energy. And Sarr will get goals for us at this level.
    The future looks bright :)

What is the law of averages saying for every team in the division currently below us, out of curiosity?

I don't think the law of averages really comes into it. It's not chance. It's a mentality problem.

I forgot about the laws of averages coming to pure rescue, I don’t blame Gino for not signing a RWB now.

I am saying there is little chance we will start sloppy in matches all the time. If that translates to the mentality of the players improving then fine.

    If there was any !

    Disastrous defending from Stoke .

Jack Bonham with a woeful mistake to let in Lucas Joao. Just looking at the expression on his face after today's calamity took me back to those 2 Leeds goals in 2014. He never struck me as the full shilling but has at least managed to come back from that Leeds game disaster. More rehab needed.

And goal machine (!) Ben Wilmot has equalised. Well, well. Now an ex-Hornets double in the game!

Wilmot then gives away a penalty.

Think Alex Neil will regret going to Stoke.

Hendrick physically appears perpetually haunted by some kind of horrifying event he has witnessed/partaken in. Almost as though he spent a brief substitute appearance as one of the fellowship's ring-bearers on the way to Mt. Doom.

Anyone see anything from Hull-Sheffield United? The stats seemed to indicate an even game, but regardless, it's another game where the Blades have scored more than once, whereas we've only done that twice this season...

Yeah they probably didn’t expect to go to Hull and win, so definitely a good result for them.

Watford defence and Edwards take note. This is real defending.
The last tackle would make Stuart Preace proud.

FC Annecy were last in Ligue 2 30 years ago prior to this season.
Won promotion on the last game v Sedan in front of 13,000. Average home attendance is normally just over 2,000.

Middlesbrough keep us in the playoffs. Just. We need to start putting together a winning run - no way can we draw our way to promotion - but we are stuck with what we have till January now and I just hope we can still be in the mix when the next window opens.

  34. Hogg-DEENEY!!!

Not sure we should be too happy about that result as Boro look more likely to me to get in the promotion mix, Sunderland play some nice stuff, but are just lacking that end product and final pass a bit too much to be a consistent threat

They had Ross Stewart injured today though, which wouldn't have helped with that.
