Plus have they over performed whereas a Boro for example have under achieved ?

Think we "could" end up In 10th place tonight. Out of interest would this be our lowest place since 2015? I know we've had years in the EPL but can't rember where we were in the championship in 20/21 always seemed about 5/6th at worse?

Ouch, could be bottom half if we lose on Saturday, 3 points off 19th as it stands. Closer to the relegation zone than the automatic spots.

Any of Hause, Kamara, Choudhury, Louza, Davis, Pedro, Sarr would be in the top 3 players for many sides in the division.

Bachmann, Sierralta, Sema, Kayembe likely start for most.

As much as Rob has been ****ed over by the lack of a flying RWB, and more ball playing CBs, he'll have done a poor job if he doesn't get this squad top 6.

10th as it stands, results not gone out way at all so far.

Think you're right about the lowest position since 2015, too. Lowest was probably 7th-ish under Ivic?

Genuinely, JP of course, Sarr for the moments he shows up (more than most in the Championship, but still not enough for a man of his talent), Davis, and Louza, maybe Hause and Kamara too too. Obviously we've hardly seen most of those, and it's a damning indictment that we've mostly seen Kamara wasted on his wrong side. I think if/when we get all those players together, we'll start to look good, but genuinely, how many games a season will that be?

Telling you have stopped eulogising about the record breaking defence following the recent output of horrendous Cathcart and Kabasele.

Not enough evidence on Hause and disagree on your rating of Choudhury (must as I do like him). Sema and Kayembe are bog average squad players for championship. You have a massive tendency to over rate our players.

Still think we get top 6, we're not exactly miles off the pace in that regard at the moment with key players to come back, but I think we're still going to be behind Burnley

Sorry? Bachmann and Sierralta are in the post you quoted! Cathcart is fine at this level, but much more suited to a back 4, which hopefully Rob realises sooner rather than later. Kabasele needs shifting.

The evidence for Hause are his decent performances at a higher level.

'Sema and Kayembe likely start for most'. Really not a controversial statement. Have a look at most Championship line ups and you'll see I'm not overrating anyone, just realistic.

Genuinely, how is Cathcart suited to a back 4 but not a back 3?

  13. WatfordTalk

His lack of pace is exposed again and again and again down the channels, when he doesn't have a full back tucked in next to him. That deficiency is less of an issue in a back 4, for me.

He was fine in a back 3 2 seasons ago, only to get dropped once we went to a back 4 tbf, and I believe he plays in a back 3 at international level, to great effect @nornironhorn

Well at least you have dropped the “one of the best teams in championship history” to “likely might start for other teams”. Wonder where you will have descended by the World Cup?

“Perfectly serviceable for a newly promoted championship team”?

Your posts at the beginning of the season have made you look absurd so best to stop digging.

Could you clarify whether that was said before or after we sold a £20m attacker that just got 16 G/A for a relegated PL side? Along with a defender proven in Serie A? Whenever you're ready.

And do you think that was referring, specifically, to the qualities of Edo Kayembe and Ken Sema? Genuinely?

Dare you to try and have a debate like the old days without resorting to the childishness you keep displaying. 'Made you look absurd'. Come on mate, grow up and just put your point across in an reasoned way like you used to. You're better than this.

Post Burnley game WatfordTalk took time to speak to the masses:

"I really did try to tell you how **** this league is. 3 games against the best this league has to offer and we're in big transition, and we come away with 7 points and 1 goal conceded! With Crapcart! And Dumberly! And Tw*tmann! and Tosserembe! Or whatever you want to call these decent Championship players that will continue to contribute to good results"

Narrator: Since this time promotion favorites Watford have taken 6 points from 6 games, with some abysmal performances thrown in and lie in 10th spot in the table. It is rumoured that WatfordTalk will continue to thrash around and pretend none of these declarations have happened.

Bloody hell, how many more sign posts do you need for a tongue in cheek post?? Tosserembe, for goodness sake! Twatmann! I really need to get a better handle of the comprehension level of my audience, my bad.

So you think we'll come mid-table, then? Or worse?

Nice dodge on the question, by the way. Wonder why you'd have done that...

Narrator: He was not, in fact, better than this.

Although in fairness, we are very short in the midfield, Clev at least would allow us to give Choudhury and Kayembe a little rest!

Ah okay it was all a funny joke! Rather than a dig at people on shoutbox! Of course!

And back to the insults. Again, please grow up.

Sure, flounce off again, and I'll see you next time you can't resist a petty dig, or you lose your temper again about what someone said on twitter, which you definitely definitely don't use, no siree.

    I have to ask.
Why are we then so totally looking like a team that will struggle in remain in the top half of the Championship?
One game so far where we looked good. In all the other games we have been completely outplayed.
Good player and poor management or good management and poor players?
It is not down to form, it is deeper or more worrying than that.
Something is very wrong at Watford FC.

That's it dear, let it all out. I take it as a massive compliment that you continue to waste so much time on me. I know you find it therapeutic to actively seek out things and people that annoy you, for whatever strange reason, whether on here or...whatever other social media site you don't use. I'll always be here for you to do just that.

For me, a mixture of several factors.

-A young manager in his second professional season, attempting to implement a new system.

-The bad smell left over from last season, and low confidence within the squad

-The uncertainty surrounding several of our key players throughout the transfer window

-The unavailability of several key players, for most of, if not all games this season.

-The lack of balance in the squad, partly down to injuries, but mostly down to poor recruitment. If RE wants to play a similar system to FGR, we needed a flying RWB, and ball playing CBs. Now that we don't have them, it's up to Rob to adjust to the hand he's been dealt, which is still a strong one, imo.

  28. LaClusazSki

    LaClusazSki Reservist

    Unavailability? Who?
We were never in the running for any ball playing CB.
RWB? Apparently we couldn't guarantee Laird first team football, so no loan deal.
Low on confidence? We didn't change the areas on the field which we knew were weak. So how can you build up confidence when those players were useless in the Premier league and are not good enough for the Championship.
As soon as these players struggle in a game in the new season, their confidence is shot. As they know that they have been found out, again.

Louza, Davis, JP, Sarr, Hause, Kamara have all been unavailable at one stage or another. To be expected, over a long season, but I still think we've been unfortunate in the frequency, and the personnel.

Yes, and I'm saying we *should* have been in the running for a ball playing CB, and *should* have guaranteed Laird first team football.

    Ok,
    Sarr now appears injury prone.
    JP, one game l think
Davis, loan deal, unfit and injury prone.
Hause, loan deal, unfit and also injury prone.
Louza. I accept that he has been out longer than expected
Kamara. One game or is it two games

Not sure what point you're making here? I said key players have been unavailable, and you're just confirming that for me at this point?

Well in fairness, we've barely seen Hause, Davis and Louza, and Kamara has hardly got to play in his preferred position, so it's no surprise we're looking so unconvincing! I do expect us to click to some degree when we have something resembling a full team, I do still think top 6 is a very realistic target. The squad management has been substandard, and it's only magnified when so many key players are unavailable!

I think top six is a pipe dream.
Unavailability is an excuse rather than a reason.
Another tough game this weekend. A defeat will put Edwards under tremendous pressure.
