Just seen the West Ham highlights on Hornets Player.

Anyone else think that we may finally have found our dead ball specialist in Steven Berghuis? I saw 2 set pieces of his in the highlights, the first of which was the FK that Prodl scored from and the 2nd of which was a corner that led to our penalty. I thought the delivery of both was first class and I would really, really love to him start against Aston Villa this weekend.

We're pretty much safe and have little else to play for other than pride and experimenting for next season. Give the boy a chance!

He did well against West Ham, which earned him a place on the Wembley bench, and as QSF had picked him I'm surprised he was not given 10 or 15 minutes when we were chasing the game.

Therefore I think you are right we should probably give him a shot, from the bench at least, against Villa.

I think had capoue not got injured we would have seen berghuis on sunday. But as soon as that first sub was forced in QSF I knew there was no hope of seeing berghuis. A real shame.

I'd definitely like to see him get 25mins+ v Villa, and I say this as someone who previously hated him with every fibre of my being.

To be honest if he doesn't get minutes against an already relegated team in the second last home game of the season when we are safe he might as well pack his bags and go home!

Yep, feel sorry for him. A big and exciting move in the summer leading to the odd run out in the woefully poor U21's. Showed something against West Ham but will he be given a previous overseas spot in our squad or want to stay remains to be seen.

A place on the bench is not good enough. His two set pieces against West Ham were excellent, and if Marks' commentary was anything to go by, Berghuis was bang up for it and was looking pretty good.

If after all this, after the abject performance last weekend, the fact we're virtually safe and the fact that Villa are a complete ****eshow, if Quique still doesn't have the balls to give Berghuis his first start, I would be absolutely livid.

I personally think the free kick wasn't the greatest and it was poorly defended. Great finish, but bad defending.

Fair enough. I think it was a hard one to defend, as it seemed to dip and swerve away from the defender closest to it. I hope Berghuis meant it!

Agreed but maybe Gueds instead of Amrabat for me. Defo Jurado in the middle. Let's get the ball out wide, stretch them a bit, and simultaneously create a bit more space in the middle for Jurado. Anya left back, Parades right back, both getting involved on the overlap. Some flipping pace please and a bit of running at defenders, not running towards them, stopping and passing backwards FML.

Iggy and Oulare on the bench. Villa are a mid championship table side and are there for the taking.

If QSF goes with the same old players in the same tired 442 against Villa he can do one as far as I'm concerned

Now is the time to show us something else, nothing to play for, we have no risks, lets see what Berghuis and Holebas on each wing of a 4231 can do

The guy deserves to play 90 minutes this weekend. I'll be so ****ed off if he doesn't get his shot.
