Yes. Manure are the British equivalent of Real Madrid - ageing players signed for their galactico quotient.

Not sure that’s fair. Apart from Ronaldo and Cavani they have signed for big money Sancho, Maguire, Wan Bissaka, Fernandes, James, Diallo, van de Beek. As well as having a good youth output. I think the Ronaldo transfer has caused them problems. They looked good in most games before he arrived.

The reports coming out of Corruption FC are not very glowing about Ronaldo. Reinforces the opinion he is a narcissist and egomaniac. Don't think Chiellini will be sending him a card soon. Watching Dybala it was noticeable how he flourished in the absence of Ronaldo as with Benzema at Galactico Albion and then went into his shell when he returned to the starting line ups.

Ronaldo massively unbalances United, it's great.

Ronaldo has always been a narcissist :) Wasn't he? At least I have had that impression for a long time. But whatever your opinion - Ronaldo plays well and is one of the best players in the world. And his era is winding down, getting older, like all people.

Ole given three more games to turn it around, happy days.

New manager in time for us then?

We could definitely be the club to get him the sack if we get our act together

Just heard the funniest stat at work, Norwich City have scored more own goals from open play than they have goals this seasons.

He might survive a defeat in the CL game in the middle - but if they lose to Spurs or City on either side of that he’ll be gone within hours I suspect. He’s on borrowed time and isn’t going to turn it around - the scope for improvement they are hoping for, just isn’t there. They are just delaying the inevitable and I think they are foolish to not be doing it this week when they have had 6 days gap in fixtures.

My concern is that it will affect us - I suspect we may be the first opponents for any new manager coming in.

He will get a result against Spurs and on the CL, he will lose to City and then us.

Spurs are very hit and miss - they had won 3 in a row in the league before Sunday. If Kane and Son decide to put a shift in, United will struggle again at the back. But I do suspect they will get a point at least.

Atalanta are very useful - especially at home. I think they might struggle there but the quick turnaround before the derby will keep him in a job regardless. But City will batter them at Old Trafford and that will be curtains, 100%. There will be far too much noise to ignore it and their fans will demand it. And they will see Watford away as a very gettable 3 points to get any new incumbent on the board straight away.

I just don’t see a way OGS is the manager against us without a result against City.

If it plays out like that, let's hope United get the same new manager bounce as we did when we played Liverpool.

We have been here before with Ole though, I’m pretty sure there was a game against Everton that became a must win and they did, then went on a good run and it was all forgotten about for a while.

If the players don’t want him sacked it’s not inconceivable they pull their socks up for a few games, he gets a few freak results then it all goes away again for a few months.

Either way it can't be bad for us. They either have Ole in charge with his hit and miss band of overrated flops who don't play for him - or they are on a run of bad results and are in disarray.

I see what you’re saying - but that wasn’t off the back of a 0-5 home defeat against your biggest rivals, with his players basically showing open warfare against the manager on the pitch.

There’s 4 things keeping him in the job from what I can see (and neither of them are his managerial ability):
    1. His history with the fans.
    2. His history with Haaland.
    3. He doesn’t rock the boat with the owners who themselves are unpopular.
    4. The best alternatives are coaches who are fiery characters who will rock the boat and potentially leave under a cloud after initial success. Or used to manage Liverpool.

For my mind, none of the above should detract from the fact he’s just not good enough a manager for a club their size and (supposed) ambition.

I think they might also have it in the back of their minds that it took Ferguson five years to win anything, so they’ve probably got the misguided view that sort of thing could happen again if they just hold out long enough.

Neither of these things are true at this point in time, though; not by a long way, and that's the problem.

For a club if United’s size, that’s greatly lessened though. Not to mention most managers nowadays have a release clause which is well within reach for a club of their financial might.

They are obviously linked with Conte and Zidane who are free to join - but I doubt Rodgers or Ten Hag will show much loyalty to their clubs if United come knocking. And their clubs would probably show some fight but it would be largely futile. The only one that I think they would struggle with is Simeone to be honest.

Of course, but it it still more difficult and throw NUFC into the mix who may be trying to get a big name in as well and will throw cash at them

At this juncture, I don’t think there’s a decision to be made for any coach between MUFC and NUFC. The names being linked the respective jobs are poles apart. There’s not a coach at this juncture who would pick the Newcastle job.

Managers aren’t that stupid - they know NUFC are still a mess and it’ll take a fair few years for them to rise through the table still. The likelihood is that they will go through 3-4 managers before they get it right. The likes of Conte, Rodgers, Simeone won’t be going anywhere near them…yet.

As for United, contracted elsewhere or not, there’s only a handful of managers in world football who would say no.

We'll see about NUFC - a mess, yes, but one with the deepest pockets

The best managers aren’t interested just about money, they already have more than enough it. They’re worried about winning stuff and their reputation. At this stage any top level manager who went to Newcastle couldn’t win anything and would run the risk of damaging their reputation.

Yeah but at the moment they're the footballing equivalent of that massive chav who won £9m on the lottery years ago. Deep pockets is about all they have.

It would also be a complete waste of money for Newcastle to splash out on a manager like Zidane at this stage, it would cost them so much but he couldn’t possibly win them anything. They have a lot of money but I doubt that also makes them stupid.

I don't know much about their squad but you missed out Varane, Fred, possibly others. they have spent huge amounts of dosh and have all the ingredients to win stuff except for a world class manager.

Zinedine Zidane has no interest in managing players like Jonjo Shelvey and Joelinton. I mean, thats not officially been said by him. But it's still a fact.

Fred and McTominay are both absolute SHYTE and should be nowhere near a Utd team challenging for any major honours.

Funnily enough I was saying the same to a Man U supporter friend of mine the other week that 'McFred' aren't really good enough for them.
