Tottenham have a worse goal difference than ourselves and have scored 3 fewer goals. They have won five and lost five. I can see there manager getting the Gino treatment at Christmas unless they pick up significantly.

wait and see Norwich get their first win of the season to put the worlds richest club bottom of the Premier League before sunset of Halloween.

Felt quite sorry for Kane. His heart clearly isn’t in it but Spurs wouldn’t let him leave and now the fans are turning against him. Perhaps he shouldn’t have signed his last contract extension.

If he signed the contract extension (with presumably a decent pay rise) then why would anyone feel sorry for him? I’m sure Spurs now wish they sold him but that is because he is acting like a petulant child. What a person to have as England captain. Disgraceful.

They be better getting money for him and bringing in players who do want to be at the club but that won’t be easy .

Mind you Spurs are only 2 pints off 4th albeit in 8th.

Have a ticket for next week first away game this season. Work meeting at half 6 in Watford. Is it worth going? (To the game) sod the meeting and the team bonding after). Won £100 from Mr Ladbrokes last time I went there when we won with Walter. Maybe I'm a lucky charm.

I dare not return to the Soton match thread, presumably it’s carnage in there ? What a dreadful set of results yesterday. One of the many downsides of us battling to stay in this league is that we can’t take any enjoyment from shock results against the big boys.

I want Norwich to be humiliated this season so a nice big Leeds win today would be lovely, even if it puts us in more danger. Let's be honest we're going down anyway.

Burnley are doing what they always do, start badly then get out of trouble easily. We all know Brentford aren’t all that so will very likely get sucked into trouble, although with our next five games and them being 2 points ahead they’ll still be well ahead of us at the end of that run.

Our best hope is Brentford reverting to their mean, and Newcastle having one of those bizarre quirks you get in life like Leicester winning the league, by somehow conspiring to get relegated by making a series of terrible decisions.

Overall the only way we stand a chance of staying up is Lady Luck falling on our side, and we manage to fluke enough games like Villa and Everton when the opposition are out of sorts.

No one has commented on the shock results yesterday - Palace winning 2-0 at Man City and Brighton drawing 2-2 at Liverpool after being 2-0 down.

Do those results give you any hope that we’ll get something from those nightmare fixtures, as it shows the top teams aren’t infallible, or not, as Brentford drew 3-3 against Liverpool only for us to get destroyed by them with minimal resistance?

No because, if our defence plays as it did yesterday, we will have to score at least 5 goals to get a point.

i admire your spirit I really do. You have seen us play City haven't you? Players probably spend the day before the game wetting their beds about the battering we will get, and generally leave a yellow trail on the pitch at full time.

We can’t keep clean sheets against teams below us in the table, we’ve got absolutely no chance against CL teams.

Before yesterday Southampton had 1 win in 17 away games, step forward Watford to duly gift them another.

Lowest scorers in the league as well, but they ripped us apart time and time again.

We have some good players and now we have a respected coach.......but we also have some Championship cloggers, and it's these such players who are ruling the roost right now. You're only as strong as your weakest link, springs to mind with Watford.

Even Ben Foster knowing how positive he seems said they fear playing Man City!

Palace were aided by City having 10 men.

Brighton actually played very well v Liverpool but but for VAR could have still been 3-0 down.

Potter pretty much said that helped and gave them nothing to lose.

We really need to ditch all the following and replace within the next few years, if we want to become a PL mainstay:

Cathcart - past it, not good enough anymore
Masina - has more bad games than good, not PL level before and still isn't now
WTE - really like the guy's leadership but he makes so many basic mistakes and he never seems to learn from them
Sema - solid Championship player, but that is his level
Gosling - should of gone in the Summer, not sure why he's still around tbf
Foster - great bloke, well known but he's in his twilight years and he knows it
Fletcher - my MotM yesterday, but he was a cheap punt to try to improve our forward line - he may come good, but he might not
Sarr - this is a hard one to place. Yesterday was very poor. He probably won't be here next season anyway.
    Cleverley - see Foster.

Agree with everything, until I read the last one. Cleverley is still a good option from the bench, even in the Prem IMO.

Kiko is not really up to it in the Premier League, although is fantastic in the Championship, so depending on where we'll be next season is whether we keep him or not. Ngakia has to be a long term project. He's not good enough at the moment. If players like Walker-Peters take him to the cleaners, that really is a problem. He also got done on more than one occasion against Stoke in the Carabao Cup.

We do need to retain some players, as only the very elite can have a squad full of interchangeable first team players, but we do need to weed out the Championship level players as they are really holding us back. How many of these would actually walk into a top Championship club? Kiko.......the rest would not exactly set the world alight even at that level, so we don't really need them. They are taking a wage and are holding us back.

  19. If only we'd changed manager before Leeds we'd probably got something out of them as they're looking absolutely pants.

And we almost did did anyway with a clueless Munoz, Ranieri would’ve had the nous to take advantage of them.

1 win in 10 and what a shock that it was us that served it up to them on a silver platter.

I hate how much of a charity case we are. Commentary mentions Pukki the only Norwich player to score in the PL this season and they only have 2. Who was one of those against? Us. Normann has Norwich’s only PL open play assist this season. Who was that against? Us. Leeds have only one PL win this season. Who was that against? Sigh…

He’s not exactly set the world alight, but then Spurs are a club with Hojbjerg and Skip as their midfield and their best player is not interested, so in reality they aren’t any better than than their current league position.

Second season syndrome seems to be seeping in. Quite amazing how we've mustered ten points from ten games. That's just under PPG for survival. Although the next five might have a big say in that.

    Sums up Norwich.

Get back into the game but then give a cheap soft goal away straight after.

Christ Norwich are abysmal, historically abysmal - that free kick attempt was pathetic, and the subsequent lazy swing of the ball straight onto the heads of several Leeds defenders when multiple Norwich attackers were free on the other wing would have Cathcart swooning.

Two terrible teams, and we’re sandwiched between them in terms of how terrible we are.

One thing is for sure we’ll be in the relegation zone after the next 2/3 games.
