He knows Al Bangura very well.

Didn't we have another Bangoura on our books who was sent to Norway or somewhere to get a work permit under Boothroyd?

Obviously would never go to Southend on a freezing cold night and watch the club you love get spanked 3-0 in 1997.

Haha brilliant. The idiot is trying to show how loyal a fan he is and doesn’t realise what a moron he has made himself look.

Dont know if this has already been posted but lest we forget, this is the real Mr Watford: 'Watford's favourite son'. The incredible and wonderful Luther Blissett. WFC's all time top scorer by a country mile. Golden boot winner and an example to us all. As tenacious on the pitch as he is humble off it. If one player in our history embodies the spirit of WFC at it's best, it's him. This is what a real Watford legend looks like:

That’s it. In a 1-1 draw, shortly before our traditional win at Highbury.

It’s like OGS is the queen or something, not one pundit on Sky or MOTD 2 could actually bear to come out and say he needs sacking.

Got loads of mates (ex Man U players) in the media so they blame the players or say there is a general issue rather than he is the man in charge so mainly at fault.

If this was Klopp or Pep they'd be saying he ought to leave.

To be fair, very few pundits do come out and say it as bluntly as that these days. Even Carragher who certainly has no loyalty to United whatsoever only threw around the scenario of his sacking - he didn't actually say they should do so. Seems there is an unwritten rule where they can't be seen to be pushing a club to get rid.

The Pozzos deserve a lot of credit. We're better than Man Utd now!

In other news, I see the Man Utd PR machine is in full flow:

It just makes for quite a frustrating watch when they all tiptoe round the subject, then tie themselves in knots for half an hour while they attempt to explain the unexplainable, because they won’t entertain the glaringly obvious problem.

Really disappointed that Liverpool took their foot off the gas at 5-0 up against 10 men with 30 mins to play. They missed their chance to have scored another 3 or 4 by just passing it around for the last 30 mins or so. Maybe they hoped by keeping it down to 5 they might manage to keep OGS in the job ??

Of course you have to question how much influence OGS has on signings. It seems blindingly obvious to me that making 'fantasy' signings like Ronaldo and Cavani (and others before them) is the wrong way to go. They should concentrate on their young talent like Greenwood and Rashford and supplement them with high values players like Varane. It seems ludicrous that there is no room in the team for Sancho and Pogba has been a misfit at the club for years.

Ronaldo was a deal done by Woodward at the behest of Alex Ferguson. Convinced of that.

Ferguson caught a whiff of Ronaldo going to City and wasn’t having it - I don’t think Solskjaer had any input into it.

He has scored 3 in 6 for them though so not a bad move so far.

Not bad as a singular standalone signing. But it’s been a bad signing in terms of what it’s done to the team. As Carragher said yesterday, the likelihood is that Ronaldo will score 30 goals this season and United will finish further down the league than previous seasons.

Apart from being potentially disruptive to the squad, these signings are as short term as our manager appointments. It’s not as though they need his goals to avoid relegation.

If you can access the Athletic there was a good article on what Ronaldo's arrival has done to the team tactically, particularly in terms of pressing and off-the-ball movement, about a week ago - here's a hint: shockingly, it's not good. You can get a free trial if not.

I've been thinking exactly the same.

If Utd managed another season this time similar to the last one (finishing comfortably top 4 in the PL, but also at least getting past the Champion's League group stage) then combined with his relationship with OGS it should be enough to show Haaland that Utd would be a decent move and I reckon would make them favourites this summer when his release clause kicks in.

However, Utd without OGS would put them clearly behind Man City, and perhaps even Madrid or Liverpool, as they would suddenly be on an equal footing in not having a strong relationship with Haaland, while offering more immediate hope of trophies. A Man Utd that finishes 2nd -4th without OGS couldn't get Haaland.

Given that it seems highly unlikely that a new manager will make them title challengers already this season, then yes their only hope in getting him is by sticking with Ole and hoping he manages to turn it around again and get them back comfortably in the top 4.

They clearly weren't banking on them seemingly dropping like a stone this season though, which will rule them out.

I also reckon that the signing of Ronaldo was partly motivated by making him a placeholder for Haaland, to demonstrate the role he could play in the team, who he would directly replace, and the amount of goals he could maybe have gotten. Sancho could also have been signed as he's mates with Haaland and provided most of his assists last season. Again, they weren't expecting him to seem so hopeless now though.

The Ronaldo effect can be detrimental. He scored 30 odd goals for Juventus last season as the team played to set him up. Allegri said this season they started slowly as the team has to adjust and learn not to play for Ronaldo but as a team again.

Great player but the team dynamic has to revolve around him and yesterday he was taking shots from ridiculous positions.

I agree. Same with Messi - I was hoping he eould sign for Man City to turn them from a team into a vehicle for Messi's stardom.

Lots of rumors OGS will be sacked today. Nothing 100% but watching Goldbridge's ramble he seemed certain it will happen before tonight, and he's a "die hard".

What a contrast with Watford. We didn't sack our man after a 5-0 defeat at home to Liverpool.

    All that's wrong with football.

As I said in another thread - we just need a massive image of Jamal Khashoggi floating across the Rookery, just before kick off, the next time NUFC play at the Vic. A picture is worth a thousand words.......

Before we started this tough 8 game run, I was thinking 4 points........now I will be disappointed if we don't make 8 points, which would keep us on track with 15 from 15.
