Xbox ONE or PS4

From what I've seen so far the consoles seem to be basically identical. It will come down to pricing and exclusive games. Everything else is pointless details

From our extensive collection of xbox games there were very few that weren't playable on the 360. We still play (on the 360) two flavours of star wars battle front and, possibly, the best game in the world from the best film in the world- "The Thing". Oh another family favourite is Dark Alliance II: Baldur's Gate (another xbox that plays on the 360).

 

Thief 4 is one I am really looking forward to.

 

Mass effect - Decent game, great story development and characters.

Unfortunately mass effect is one I may never get too. It's a trilogy I really want to play, but might just have to accept that I may not play it.

Just had the pre-order ad from amazon for the 'box - a mere £599.99. I'm not biting and I'm waiting for the mythical steambox.

 

Absolute rubbish. You will find millions of fans worldwide who would disagree with you, myself included.

 

I'd expect to. But I'd also find a fair few who agree with me, particularly when it comes to Halo, which is without a doubt the most over hyped, overrated series in the history of gaming. Doesn't hold a candle to the Half Life's and BioShock's of this world.

 

The best online shooter ever was SOCOM II on the PS2...I used to lose entire weekends playing that online. Nothing will ever beat it not even HALO or Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare.

I, sort of, get what you're saying. When Halo came out on the original box it was the device's "killer" application. So good that, so I've been told by my ubergeek best mate, that it got 'adults' into gaming. Easy to use, excellent story and characters and very long game play. I also remember all the chat amongst 'grown-ups' when 'Halo 2' came out that they would be spending an entire long weekend to really immerse themselves in it. Six hours later the messages starting appearing on the boards "Is that it?".

What's this seasons gaming look - I'm going for the heavily stained lounge pants and 'East-European grey' white baggy t-shirt ensemble. A classic look, but can I still get away with it?

 

Cant beat the GTA games just for pure fun. V is going to be amazing.

apparently despite the fact we have all criticised it for being so big, it is in fact only twice the length of a parker pen?

 

Have any of you guys seen or heard about the new virtual reality headset, oculous rift? Seems like it's a neat piece of kit, much better than that tosh that was out back in 80's according to reviewers. Would be awesome if Sony and Microsoft decided to take this onboard.

Hmm. Not sure the oculus rift will ever really be able to compete with the big boys. At some point Sony and Microsoft will make their own version of the software and that will be that. Not too keen on the idea of a virtual reality headset either to tell you the truth.

 

Do your own bloody work.

 

But that means using precious energy; something I cannot afford to waste.

 

E3 starts tomorrow, and both Microsoft's and Sony's press conferences will be then as well. Looking forward to finding out the Xbox One and PS4 release dates and possibly the prices. At the moment I'm starting to lean towards PS4.

 

I have to say the disabling of games one the Xbox One after 24 hours not connected to the internet doesn't sound particularly appealing.

 

Microsoft are shooting themselves in the foot in left, right and centre. There seems to be so many limits and restrictions on so many different things and people are concerned about privacy with this new Kinect.

There's none of this having to install games on PS4 (as far as we're aware at the moment), no frequent internet connection required in any way, and no restrictions in place by Sony in regards to used games. Also being able to play ANY PS4 game in full quality on the Vita sounds amazing.

 

45 minutes until Microsoft's E3 press conference. They've got some serious damage control to do.

 

It appears Microsoft have screwed it up. £430 for a console that you can't play offline, you don't own the games you buy and has a camera that always watches you. Roll on Sony tomorrow! :sign15:

 

Hmm wasn't too impressed with Microsoft either today. Might just stick with PC gaming for another couple years... Mind you the ps4 still sounds promising

 

Can someone please explain to me how the f**k they think it's OK to sell it over here for £429 ($667) and charge only $499 on the US? $499 is £320!

 

it has unfortunately always been that way in this country with electronic hardware.

Its not only Microsoft that does this, when Levis release new jeans they are $40 in the U.S, but £70 here.
