Rubbish first half, best team in second half and unlucky with the own goal.

Welbeck looked 90% fit but showed some good touches I thought.

I think the formation is correct but I would play Bobby P instead of Clevs. Obviously our defence is rubbish but we dont have anybody better to come in.

Hoping we can stay in touch until the Jan windown and then hopefully Gino will notice he has to invest heavily in the defence, got to get at least one Prem level cb and a left back.

Who of the attacking players would want to stay if we went down?

    Just Gray and Deeney.

With the rubbish defence we'd need a whole new SQUAD!

Mind you even if we stayed up that might be true..

Just seen the own goal. I am starting to see why Janmaat hasn’t started to this point, it reminds me of an own goal I scored when I was representing the Red Lion 3rd team, on a Sunday morning with a horrible hangover.

I've made peace we're going down. At the game I thought we showed no idea how to produce a final ball, but more importantly we mentally look beaten at the back. We have no belief we will turn this around.

The lineup looked right but the same problems reared its head.

Exactly what I said in the Shoutbox. First goal is crucial for us at the moment. Need to get some luck at some point. However, they need to grow a pair and actually earn some luck. I have never disliked a Watford team before. I'm starting to feel that way about this bunch of cowards.

I think Deeney and Gray would probably go, on the basis of there wages. That said I doubt anyone would want them

I don’t think it’s hard luck. We pretty much deserve everything we’ve got so far this season. But the reality is enough teams don’t get what they deserve and right now we need something to fall for us. If the team still bottles it from there then we’re definitely screwed.

It is looking very bad currently & confidence is shot, but there are plenty of games to turn it around & we can factor in others will hit bad runs as the season progresses.

We have to hope when TD gets back it will galvanise the squad into action. The captain is needed back more than ever.

We've sacrificed the attacking potency we had under JG and gained a barely more solid defence. We're still going down. This time we'll do it by being terrible to watch.

Good summing up by Keown on Final Score - said we were all over the place, no heart and are in free fall. Said we don't seem to have any sort of team mentality.

Desire and fight is something this squad seriously lacks. I don’t see anyone leaving it all out on the field and that’s exactly the attitude we need at the moment. I thought our problems were tactical and we would be ok with a a few changes but I think the rot is squad deep and I can see where we are going to get points this season. That’s not being doom and gloom, I realistically can’t see us beating anybody in this division at the moment.

Sheffield United next, I watched them earlier against Liverpool and they looked solid. No way a 3 easy points game as many have been throwing about on here.

The sickening thing for me and I’m a sure it is the same for most fans is the feeling off complete complacency at our club. The lack of investment in key areas window after window is pure insanity and completely avoidable. All our hard work getting to the PL and staying there will be thrown away because of this complacency and we will be back to square 1

That bar maybe a few was our B E S T starting 11. We go to a side shot on confidence like us, who don't even need to get out of first gear to win. No beating around the bush, we are in serious, serious trouble. Such an Abject performance, Bobby aside - it was lethargic and spineless. Just as bad up front than we were at the back. We cannot score or defend. Only one place we are going and it used to be sponsored by Coco-Cola.

Yes Welbeck needs time, yes Sarr needs time to adapt, but both of them were pretty poor today, match fitness not. We didn't even have a shot on target till midway through the secnd half!!!! That is pathetic! Absolutely pathetic. Holebas needs to stop taking corners and FK's hardly any of them beat the first man today and when do they ever to be fair. Team selection was really good, we go into it feeling we can get something against a poor Wolves side, and they put in a half-arsed performance. It's inexcusable, it really is getting to the point now every single on of those players get's a kick up the backside in training and comes out with bruises. We pay money to travel all over the country and yes sometimes if you lose to a team who are much better than you, hold your hands up and say it - no shame in losing to a better side.

When the same group of players turn up for a pay packet and don't give a toss about the performance, or the fans' who travel to see them home and away, then that is an issue. I cannot blame QSF for today. He put out the side we all wanted and we still play like Sunday league halfwits. What else can he do but stand on the sideline and watch us waste chance after chance when we do get them? We would struggle in any league with this squad, let alone the Premiership. I am majorly concerned for the future of this club at this point, we need a win desperately and Sheff Utd next week is not going to bring it. They have an inferior squad on paper to ours, but they play like a team who give a damn. We don't.

I feel even more ashamed than I did after Brighton, forget last week that was a nightmare itself but this was a chance to redeem ourselves and get a bit of pride back and we failed at that. The defence is laughable. WTF was Dawson doing I have no idea, and Jannmat;s OG just sum's up our season. If QSF stays or goes, it makes little difference to the squad. They don't give a sh!t anymore what level they play at and that hurts. We need players who want to wear the shirt, and fight fir the badge. None of this current crop can, or even want to.

I'm going to the Vic next week - don't know why, but I guess I love torture. Will we see a result or a performance? Maybe, but don't put your mortgage on it.

Good improvement from last week. Still only 5 points behind equivalent fixtures from last season. If we lose the next 3, that doesn't change!

We can't keep a clean sheet and we can't score goals. Unless something drastic happens nothing will change. This slump has been going on for a long time now, and no answers have been found.

I think sacking Flores and getting a coach of real quality could help us (Benitez or similar) but that's just idle dreaming. In reality, we cannot do anything about our defence until January, and at this rate, it will all but over by then.

There's just an acceptance we will lose before we even play the game. Anyone that loses to us, has to be really off form or not taking the game seriously. There are not three teams worse than us, and from the position we are in now, it all looks hopeless.

We can be good, and this time last year we were......but a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then. Right now it's looking terminal. There's only so much "learn from lessons", "we go again" or regrouping that can be done, before it loses it's effect. I think we're at that stage now. Nothing is working, and we're just left with "we need to catch a break".

Without looking at the stats, I thought we had much the better of that game.

I'm sorry to say we look like relegation candidates right now. That was a game that was there to be won. Wolves won't get another game like that this season, where they've bagged all the points despite not doing much.

This is an unforgiving division, and if you can't take points from games like that you go down.

I'm not giving up yet. Far from it. Quique might be a primarily defensive coach, but this time around he's clearly giving attacking players more license than he did in his previous reign, and they look happier with their new-found freedom than they did just a few weeks ago when they blatantly weren't on board with Javi's ideas going forward.

Deeney, whether he's scoring or not, will make a massive difference when we get the ball into that final third. I was looking at Welbeck today, hoping he might be the answer, but he isn't the player I used to really rate when he was at Man Utd.

This is increasingly a tough season.

Agreed. If we can get two quality team improving players that no-one else wants and also want to join a team bottom of the PL, that would be brilliant.

My biggest worry at the moment is the signals Flores is giving. In every press conference so far he’s going out of his way to make it crystal clear he has no experience of coaching a team at the bottom of the league.

Yet to see any difference between Quique and Javi. Nothing we can do about the defence, we're stuck with that cr@p until January unfortunately. Goals are consistently coming from balls in behind our full backs, the centre backs aren't great but I don't think we have a full back at the club that can defend.

Today was worrying though, Wolves play 352/343 every game and yet we seemed to have no plan and were dominated tactically. We got the attacking line up we all wanted yet looked toothless. Doucoure and Capoue completed an incredible amount of sideways/backward passes.

Something needs to change and I don't have the answer. Formation? Personnel? Coach? I can honestly see Quique being in serious trouble if we lose against Sheff Utd, bizarre as it sounds.

Not sure if you're joking but I do think that some who have blithely said in the past that they wouldn't mind being relegated because they prefer Championship football, etc haven't considered the reality of its implications. Very few teams bounce straight back up - it is often the start of a downward slide that is difficult to reverse. Look at Fulham and Cardiff - neither setting the Championship alight so far and yet Fulham played better football, dare I say, last year than we are right now.

I do think you are slightly caught up in the “I didn’t want Flores and I’m being proved right” rather than being a little more sensible. We’re bottom of the league but that is far from Flores fault.
We are suffering from a lack confidence which is more the issue. We are not getting the rub of the green which happens to sides down the bottom. Flores needs to restore confidence but no way in the world is he close to the sack

I’m not sure why people are pinning their hopes on the transfer window. We’re ****, and we’re very likely to be rooted to the bottom come January. If that’s the case are the owners really going to spend the necessary millions to bring our defence up to standard in January if we’re rooted to the bottom?

He's come in as a defensive coach, yet has conceded 12 goals (should have been more) in just three games.

Gino is the one who's going to suffer the most financially, and no one is trying to make Watford this dreadful. They all want to turn it around, but it's not working, and there's not even the illusion of green shoots to cling to.

I agree but there has to be some hope, however unlikely.

In January the price is inflated for needy teams. We will almost certainly be that team but we've put ourselves in that position. It will represent Pozzo's last stand. He'll have to take a hit and spend over the odds on the defence or else we're relegated. I can't see an alternative to it.

All that underinvestment in this key area has finally bitten him. Instead of the ridiculous overspend on a player we didn't really need, we should have spent on the defence. That's not hindsight, as I believe most were thinking this in the summer.

We'll see in January how scared Gino is of relegation. I would suspect he'll be terrified, and I would think it could be the first time you'll see Watford in any kind of panic mode.

I thought we did ok today aside from hardly troubling the keeper and our defensive gift wraps to the oppenent. We need a performance where we score off a backside or opponent gets sent off to get the confidence going again. But i dont see us forcing that confidence.
