No way do they beat the RS last day.

My last post is wrong. If we now draw with Wolves and beat West Ham, and Wolves beat Fulham, we will finish 1 point behind them

    Arsenal are pathetic, aren't they.

Yep and when we beat Wolves on saturday we will be 2 points above them with two games to play and one of theirs is at Anfield so I will go with glass half full

That was a massive 2 points dropped last night.

Win against Wolves and West Ham. And we should get 7th

It's instantly now a must win. It's likely over if not, especially if we lose.

Just saw that. Still two points above them. We will get something at Chelsea, and smash West Ham. 7th is there for the taking

You mean if we beat them we will be 2 points above them ? Us to play Chelsea, them to play Pool. Everton for 7th ?
    Think we will finish 9th.

Wolves have been known to wobble at 2-0 up. The physiological pressure on them in the 2nd half could be very interesting.

Arsenal are useless shi**unts. That is all.

Second goal offside apparently, but probably not going to make any difference.

No i really mean when we beat them. Going on our last two meetings with them this season there is nothing to suggest that we wont. I may be being a tad overconfident but whats the point in being negative at this point of the season. Last night was a blip and Saints played well.

To be brutally honest Wolves deserve Europe. They are the only team that outsmart the big 6 regularly. Our big 6 record is woeful.

Well true. But it is good to see a team so effective against the Big 6. They seem capable of upsetting the established order whereas we just lose time and again to them.

We've not had the rub of the green. We were comfortably beaten by Liverpool and City but deserved more points from Utd, Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Also, wolves' success against top 6 is cancelled out by their consistent inconsistency against the bottom sides. They have some big scalps but they've shat the bed against some utter dross.

One thing for certain, we will need to raise our game on Saturday, because we haven't been clicking of late. Even the amazing win at Wembley was a game where 3 moments of magic cancelled our many long periods of mediocrity from us.

But for recent catastrophic errors from Foster, Catchart and Deeney, we would be 5 points better off and feeling comfortable.

Although it hurt us, well done to Wolves for beating Arsenal tonight. Everton have already done it and I fully expect Leicester to do the same. It’s really starting to look like our game against them is the one that is going to cost us 7th place. How Arsenal are in contention to qualify for the Champions League is beyond me.

It’s their home record propping them up. 14 wins and only 2 defeats from 18 games. 3rd best in the league.

Ugh, 8th or 9th now. What a disaster Arsenal was, if we had just got a result, or kept 11 men on the field we'd be in a much better place, but we couldn't even manage that!

It’s still in our hands. It’s all about Saturday. We have home advantage, we need everyone in the stadium to get behind the players, drown out the away noise and make it as hostile as possible. Put the ref under pressure by exaggerating every tackle they make to try and influence him. Javi has our smarted Nuno twice already. He can do it a third time. Wolves are a very obvious team to play against. They don’t know how to play when they have the ball. So set up to inhibit them hitting us on the counter and we will be fine. I’m actually glad Deeney isn’t playing, he would have got sent off in this game and be done for the rest of the season.

Just don’t concede early, score first and they will feel the pressure.

I just hope we don’t set up 4-4-2 against them. We are much better with Janmaat and Femenia on the pitch. Hopefully we start 3-5-2.

7th is decided on Saturday. The players know this and will be well up for it. I’m confident we do the treble over them.

Had Deeeny controlled himself and not got carried away with his self imposed hardman image, we'd be 5 points better off. But's it not the Watford way, to take advantage of the straight forward route.

I find it hard to blame Deeney. The outcome is frustrating, but nothing he did justified a red.

It was a ref looking for a reputation, making a decision based on 90% guesswork and then an appeals panel who upheld a dodgy call to preserve the integrity of their little club.

We are a side that does tend to fold under the pressure of the occasion.....historically that is. However, after another apparent collapse we did pull through against Wolves in the semi final, so maybe that trend is reversing. Having said that, the bizarre Arsenal goal and Deeney sending off within a minute is a sign we cannot handle the pressure and the knock on effect of losing Deeney has undoubtedly costs us points against Arsenal and Southampton.

It's a big ask for Watford to beat Wolves without Deeney. Others are not able to step up and fill the void. But, we HAVE to beat them or else I feel the chance of 7th will be gone. Our track record against the top 6 is appalling, so we'll only have West Ham as a match where we would likely pick up 3 points after the Wolves game.

I really want us to finish 7th, for many reasons.

Yesterday when we went into 7th nothing was said about it, only the constant re-run of Long's goal, which I saw about 50 times on Sky. Today, it will be a love-in all the way for Wolves who beat the mighty Arsenal to go to their rightful 7th position.

We need to finish 7th, just to be able to ram it down the throats of the media. We need to do it for the good of smaller clubs that dream of doing something big, and we need to finish 7th for the fans and players, who really deserve it. Defying the odds all season.

I blame him as his comments leading up to the game ensured he got no benefit of the doubt over what he did. The officials were looking out for it and the review panel would never overturn the red based on his comments of wanting to whack a few to see if they were up for it.

It was a soft red, but he brought it on himself.

He didn't play against Wolves away from home though and we still managed to beat them, convincingly too.

That's true and of course we can win without him, but when we beat Wolves earlier in the season I think it was a good time to play them. They weren't used to the Premier League and were still finding their feet. I remember their fans saying we gave them a football lesson. Well they've learnt from it and they're a much better team now.

We on the other hand are not playing that sparkling football of early season, but we are still resilient and hard to beat. Deeney has been exceptional this season and has really led the line. Without him, that leadership and ability to hold the ball up to bring others in to play goes. Success and Gray try hard, but are not really up to it and we look a bit clunky and disjointed. Our forward play doesn't really flow.

I'd be confident going into that match on Saturday with Deeney and Holebas back in. Maybe Holebas will be available but of course Deeney wont. I'm going with hope rather than expectation.
