I think I agree with all you’ve said comrade Clive . However, come the revolution you won’t be able to call female hornets hornet ass - it’ll be a spell in the gulag for you my comrade friend.
Chelsea have had eight players with hamstring injuries this season, Ross Barkley is the most recent and won't play.
Will those lah-de-dah West London fancy dans be able to deliver on a cold night up north in Hertfordshire?
Wayne Rooney is a special guest on sky, that way they don't have to find too much to say about Chelsea's opponents.
Like Hornetboy1 I’m fairly upbeat about tonight. We shouldn’t be writing it off, or even calling it a free hit. Games remaining against the top clubs are only free hits if we are winning the games against the lower clubs, and right now we aren’t. What an irony it would be if after sacking Silva partly because of his awful home record, we won our first match at the Vic without him in charge. The only thing that’s making me a little nervous tonight is all this talk of ‘Conte has one game left to save his job’. Apart from that, I’m quietly hopeful of points tonight. Lets hope for a good match too. Our last two matches with Chelsea have provided 13 goals!
I wouldn’t worry about that, in fact it’s probably a good thing for us. Conte wants out and doesn’t want to be there, he wants his payout, just like Silva did. If he truly only has one game to save his job then we really should be winning.
Suggestion is that Giroud will be fit enough to make his debut tonight. Really hope not. He'll be keen to impress and make that CF position his own.
Last face it whoever Chelsea put out are going to be a match for us, man for man they are probably better than us in every position! The only way we will get anything from the game is by our 11 performing better with more desire than theirs! Remember two years ago same time of year, an evening televised game V them, we drew 0-0 thanks to a couple of great Gomez pieces of heroics in the last few minutes, we need a similar performance tonight (whoever plays in goal)
That's a shame, as Pawson is one of the better officials. Mike Dean is a hugely controversial referee, but from memory he's not really stitched us up in the past. I think we're just a likely to get a joke decision from him as Chelsea are. There will almost certainly be at least one big contentious decision made, and it could be to either side.
Very good insightful article, about tonight and also the psychology of Silva's reign since the last time we played Chelsea. 'Brittle' is the word that comes to mind. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...chelsea-watford-moment-when-it-all-went-wrong “It’s very easy at the front end of a season to galvanise a diverse group of players around a central cause,” says Jeremy Snape, a former England cricketer and sports psychologist. “Everyone’s fit and motivated and fresh, and pre-season tours are the perfect time to get that shared mind-set, and all the diverse cultures can own that mission and go and get it. Then you get into the challenge of tough games and setbacks, and that early focus gets burned away, and you’re left with a question as to whether you can focus and re-energise. That’s a critical time. Once the season is in full flow it can be incredibly hard to arrest any decline – and if the team’s leadership is also lacking focus, it might be impossible.”
Looks like Ricky has been getting plenty of PlayStation practice in for this one: https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...l-a3757981.html?amp&__twitter_impression=true
Very good to see Richie smiling. I almost didn't recognise him. Meanwhile on the BBC Website: 3. Posted by Stuboy on 4 Feb 2018 22:34 Can't see anything but a Chelsea win tomorrow. Three easy points to silence the doubters, for now.... From our own correspondent?
Must win game for Conti imho. I don't expect us to get anything unless the Chelski players really want shot of him and even then a 0-0 will be a decent result.
I'm bringing along a giant inflatable foot so that I can sing "He scores with his foot, he scores with his foot" to that well known Doucoure tune. Although I my not have the opportunity.....
Nice that Richy is feeling confident, I predict us getting about 35% possession, 2 shots on target to Chelsea's 15, Giroud breaking down in the first ten minutes, Mapps playing a blinder, 1-0 the Orns
