Takes a bit of pressure off going into it 3 points and massive goal diff clear still.

I still will not enjoy it unless we are 3-0 up with 2 minutes to play, and even then probably not.

A draw here is a great result.

Think it will be 2 or 3 goals to them and we will get one.

Hoping with the new coach for 0-0 or 1-1

For the rest of the season, in my opinion, we need to aim for draws against the top 2/3rds of the league day down to 12th and to win against the remaining 8

I think you are being optimistic - it might just touch 4° at lunchtime on Monday, but the game will be played with the temperature around 0°.....

Sounds like Barkley is out of the game now as well. He's crap anyway but every little helps.

We’re going to absolutely ******* them.

Bournemouth put three past them, and we’re about seven times better than those plucky plumber/ painter and decorator part timers.

Three Watford points nailed on. The only unknown is the extent to which we can improve our goal difference.

Would take a point. I don't think we'll have a better chance to beat Chelsea at home, just hope that Cleverley is fit enough to play.

I can't see it being any different in terms of shape or team (aside from perhaps Pereyra in for Cleverley) that started against Stoke, I just hope we do the basics and manage the game as well as we did on Wednesday. If we do that we can frustrate Chelsea and I would fancy us with our pace and class out wide to create a few chances, we just need to make sure we stick them away!!

Heart says 1-0 win, but head says narrow 0-1 defeat. Won't be anything in it. I just hope we can get something and then turn West Ham over next weekend.

Not having a game on a Saturday is like giving up smoking. Faux bravado. Who cares? I'm toughing it out. Win who wins, lose who loses. While keeping a crafty, sly eye on the results and examining the details. We've lost the same as West Brom. More than Southampton and damn blasted Crystal curse 'em Palarse.

But don't worry comrade hornets and comrade hornetas. Keep going along on this thin diet of nothing. Our turn will come.

Monday is coming. There are no other games playing.

All the spotlights will be on us and we'll get our glorious, glorious footballing fix.

And then all fall asleep drooling on ethnic cushions after talking a lot of shiny shyte about false 9s, cutbacks, horrible Prodl headers and suchlike.

These Sky pushers know what they're doing. Flash! Bang! Super Sunday! Boom! GOAL!! Want more?

Yes, yes, you know I do Rupert curse your eyes.....where do I pay?

    New manager bounce?

    Generally yes among the supporters.

    Possibly among the players.

    Definitely not with the weather.

Clive, I misread & thought you said the revolution was coming on Monday.

Starting 8pm sharp in Watford with Craig Pawson officiating.

    That did seem surprisingly specific.

And it will be televised live on Sky too.

    An uncomfortable Monday awaits.

Anything from the game would be gold dust.

Whilst the Bolsheviks stormed the Winter Palace, Lunacharsky, Lenin’s cultural guru, spent the evening reclining on cushions.

Let all Hornets dream of similar hedonism come 10pm on Monday.

Lock me up and throw away the key, but I actually think we could win this one......nutter.

I can already see the changes Gracia has made. After Stoke, already the shambolic, non-existent defensive disaster has reduced. Ok, we have limitations and always will with the players we have, but there are no excuses for no defensive coaching. For Graica it was an easy fix.

Now we're being looked after by a proper coach, I can see there are possibilities in getting something against THIS Chelsea side. It's a good time to play them. They seem to be close to sacking Conte and the players are not performing for him.

An upturn in Watford's form, and a downturn in Chelsea's could be enough to give us an edge. I'm looking for the new players to give us an impetus. Ndong is not available, but Deulofeu will give us plenty of quality and a cameo from Lukebakio could be just the shot in the arm we need.

I've seen an improvement in Holebas' delivery, an improvement in Capoue (and he's got another chance to impress as he's playing for a new contract). Mapps at right back really worked well at Stoke, and he's vastly more reliable than Janmaat. Karnezis has gone from court jester to knight and I no longer have my head in hands when I think of him in our goal. I see small performance improvements all over the park and collectively that means a great deal.

Hahhahahah. His delivery was AWFUL against Stoke!? An improvement in Capoue after one game!? Mariappa at right back against Bristol City in the energy drink cup was the worst individual performance this season. You're deluded.

You forgot to mention how bad Karnezis was at Everton.

It's not being deluded in seeing the positives. I think it's your state of mind that's the problem. Yes, Mapps was bad against Bristol City, but what relevance is that now? Anyone can see the negatives, but things do seem better now.

A positive attitude will have a big impact on how we approach the rest of the season. Nothing is ever achieved with negative thoughts. I see an upturn in attitude from the team, so that's enough for me to get on board.

Agreed. The negativity that's been brought on over the last 2 months gets a bit much at times, and it makes it hard to take the positives as and when they come. Stoke away, awful game no matter when you play it, so a point shows at least something has been done.

As for individual players, I think it shows the Gracia has taken time to figure out how we can grind points from what we have available. Overhauling our formation to make up for the fact Janmaat can't defend shows that.

If we get a point a game we are odds on to stay up.
I am not confident at the moment that we are favourites to win any game. Our recent record against teams below us does not inspire confidence. So I believe we need to set out defensively in an aim to not concede - go for a draw and pinch a win if we can. I do not care whether it is against Chelsea or West Brom - a point per game will get us there.
If we become hard to beat perhaps confidence will return and we can then dream of winning again.

The players need the positive attitude. We need to have lower than low expectations so that we are cheering wildly if we win a corner and cheer them off the park if they only lose by one :) !!
