I suppose putting the opposition off their game by grossing them out is a potentially legitimate tactic.

The amount of pace they have in their attack points towards them being better on the counter.

Yeah I think we have. My concern is that the pozzos have brought him in in a last ditch attmept to avoid relegation and will likely sack him.
Id keep him whether we are relegated or stay up but i dont think they will.

Nobody does, unless they happen to shop at the local ESSO garage. Where have all the ITK's when you need them?

If the Pozzos get rid and we put together a run of form and only just get relegated, they deserve to be criticized.

Harry the Hornet to rush up for a corner at the death and smash in a bicycle kick "Wright-esk" in the 93rd to get
us a win. Pearson is so happy with his talent he starts in our next five games.

Bad news: I have yet to see Watford score this season.
Good news: I can't go on Sunday so can confidently predict that, win, draw or lose, we should at least find the back of the net.
    Prediction 0-1 (Kabasele og)

Just looking at this weekends fixtures. Villa are playing Southampton. That could be quite damaging if that produces a winner. Either Southampton or Villa could be sitting on 18 points by the end of Saturday, putting us 9 points from safety.

That could be a psychological blow. Even if we beat United, we would not have closed the gap. All we can hope for is that to be a draw, and of course we win our match.....best case scenario.....and we close the gap to 4 points.

What a huge swing. Possible 9 points from safety or 4 points. That's massive and I'm hoping it really goes our way for once.

Really unless we have a run in which we win 3 or 4 games quickly it really doesn't matter what happens above us. Given our form since the Wolves SF I'm not sure if we will win that many between now and the end of the season.

It's gone exactly our way last two weeks, so hopefully this week is no different. Problem being, we never seem to be able to take the chance to close the gap.
Going on this - Saints and Villa will draw, and we lose. Then we still fall behind by one more point.

If we do actually win (big IF), then even if say Villa win, we are no further behind them points wise, so it's still three points gained. All we can do is our job Sunday afternoon and
hope results Saturday go for us.

If parameters were not changed, then yes there is nothing to suggest our form would alter. But, a new and effective coaching set-up has been introduced with a proven track record for pulling teams out of the mire.

I would not give up hope just yet. Over the next 5 games, I'd say we'd need around 10 points. If we get that or close to it, then I'd say we're back in business of chipping away and climbing up the league. If we fall well short, then I think we'll all have to accept the inevitable. But now is not the time to lose hope.

Before I went away I was convincing YOU that we still had a tiny chance of survival. Now you're trying to convince me ? Have you taken up heroin ?

You thought we'd be ok under Flores, but now have doubts under Pearson. I think it maybe you on the white powder.

I didn't ever think we'd be ok under QSF ??? I said we had a tiny chance of survival 3 weeks ago. It's a tiny bit tinier now, 4 games and one point on. Maybe a 1 in 20, 5% chance ? You said we were down 3 weeks ago.

Do you not understand the point of ‘parameters changed’?

Before Pearson joined, we were down, there was no hope of pulling out of the situation. Now there is because there has been a major uplift in coaching appointments.

Not sure why you think it’s such a crime for someone to change their mind over something when there is a very good reason to do so.

This is the problem with this forum. If you say something, you are not allowed to change your opinion. It’s like it goes against forum etiquette. I find that quite a strange attitude.

I was just pointing out in a good humoured way that we seemed to have switched roles.
Then I corrected your assertion that I had thought we'd be ok under QSF.
Of course you can change your opinion, the change in manager hasn't changed mine.

That's fair enough, but I think if you get in a coach who has a track record for getting teams out of a mess, as he did with Leicester and West Brom, then our chances have certainly improved. If, however, we've not picked up sufficient points over the next 5 games, then I would say the gamble on Pearson will probably not pay off. But it's far too early to suggest that at this stage.

Anyway, Filippo Galli thinks we're going to stay up and that's good enough for me.

Don't remember him being a success at WBA ? The run at Leicester was stunning but looked a bit of a one-off and of course he was later sacked by Derby. Not a bad appointment but don't think he will be able to turn the tanker round and I suspect the Pozzos will be lining someone else up for the summer.....not that I want to knock your new found optimism :).

Don't worry, you'll not knock my optimism as I never take any notice of what other forum members say (just being honest, not unkind).

He was involved in the great escape under Bryan Robson, when West Brom stayed up on the last day of the season. So he has been involved in two of the greatest escapes the Premier League has ever seen. As we all know, things like this come in three's. :D
