Of course he mishit it. You're not seriously suggesting he deliberately put some spin on it? The Vic. isn't Wimbledon!
We don’t have a ‘stopping clock’ as in some sports, so if you don’t have something like a 30 second convention the amount of added time is always in the lap of the gods (i.e. the ref) and people will moan about its inconsistency like they always used to.
The real problem with Success is his application. I agree he has potential but ever since his last decent performances in the League Cup early last season he has not looked bothered to try and force his way back into the team, despite the lack of form of our other forwards. One way this seems to manifest itself is his willingness to fall over when challenged and try for a free kick rather than use his undoubted strength to overcome a defender. Whether this is laziness, lack of belief or abdication of responsibility I really don’t want to see it any more.
This was a great turnaround from @hornetboy1 . One of the best I have seen. I had a protracted debate where I proposed that possibly we had a chance of survival, as things do change. And to suggest we had a 0% chance of survival was not correct. hb1 one was having none of it. And here we are a couple of weeks later... having only won one game more...
You’re completely missing the point though, the one misplaced pass was because he tried a no look pass... you know, when you look one way but try and pass in the other direction without looking at the ball. In the circumstances it was totally inappropriate, nobody would be on his case if he genuinely misplaced a normal pass, but it was completely unnecessary showboating, and completely inappropriate in the circumstances. He’d still have been a prat for trying it even if it came off.
The 'no-look, reverse pass' can work a treat on occasion. I accept that Isaac chose the wrong occasion. But on the strength of that you'd want Pearson to bin him off? I think (and hope) what Pearson will do is to recognise a serious potential asset that we've thus far not got the best from, diagnose why that is, the weaknesses, insecurities and potential strengths and then coach and encourage him individually to 'release the beast' to our collective benefit. That's what the best head coaches do. Not bin someone off for a silly pass and then have to scout around for a replacement asset that may not be necessary.
The footage the club released from the touchline also showed him and Shakespeare bellowing "Isaac, work back..." at one point, and it did look like there was a "for ****s sake" in there too.
