So at this time of year, who doesn't stock up on a selection of cheeses. Rhetorical question, of course because everyone does.

Port Salut is the favourite in our house. What's yours?

    Cheddar, strong as possible.

Wendsleydale with fruit cake and a glass of Port.

As mad as this sounds, if Pearson keeps us up, I expect Gino would pay him the handsome bonus I’m sure he has in his contract, shake his hand and then go after another foreign name that he believes is fitting of the club in his eyes. I imagine the fans wouldn’t be pleased but we got promoted and jettisoned Slav, and I see this as a similar situation in some ways.

Granted it’s just my thoughts, but if Pearson is to remain WFC manager next season, I really think it’s because we have gone down.

I don’t actually think keeping us up from this point would be a HUGE achievement because the squad we have isn’t that bad. This squad should be staying up through ability. The huge achievement will be getting them playing anywhere near the level they are more than capable of. Add a CB of real quality early in January and I think we have a chance if Xmas goes okay.

As for today - I have a hunch that today might be the day things click better. 3-1 to us.

  4. Chaource. And Roquefort. And a spanish sheeps milk cheese whose name I can't remember but it's nicer than Manchego. (And a really good crunchy vintage cheddar)

Seriously Strong Spreadable in sandwiches for me. I also like a Mild Cheddar. Add both of these to Jacob's Crackers selection box and a
nice glass of White Wine, that's Xmas sorted.

I love a bit of Port Salut. On to the cheeses for this Christmas we purchased a few truckles when we were at the lights at Blenheim the other week. We currently have an ale and mustard, an oak smoked cheddar and a red to go with our applewood cheddar and Cambozola. And a couple bottles of Shiraz to wash it all down.

Just for the sake of balance, for which this forum is famous, I hate cheese.

    ******** for life... from Wikipedia:

In September 2010, Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting a fellow guest at a charity event at Mere Golf Club in Cheshire. Butler pleaded guilty to the assault charges in May 2011 and was sentenced to 120 hours community service.

Could be. But it was also probably due to Sarr doing what he can do. Unpopular, maybe, but I wonder if Gray could have got on the end of some of those near-post crosses? Of course, it would have helped if he had been on the pitch at the time.

Good luck anyone travelling into Watford today. I just managed to crawl back after trying to go in and out early doors. It's a mess. Going to get worse.

    I'm going to the pub.

Sailed in half an hour ago expecting it to be jammed solid. Only a 3 minute queue to get in Church car park. Is there a match on? Is it close to Christmas?

Port Salut is decent. But Saint Agur or Cornish Cruncher with balsamic onions with an assortment of crackers are ideal. But a change and some experimentation is also good. Mostly, though, it's got to be strong with blue veins, not wishy-washy and creamy.

I'm off to visit my Leeds supporting father to watch the match on Sky. He's already said stuff like 'we are swapping places, he he', which could easily become reality.

I'm going for a hard fought dull match with only one goal scored, most probably an early United goal due to awful defending.

is my prediction for at home to Rotherham in League One in 2021.

    For today, 0-1, Rashford.

£5 and a toblerone, which Deeney tracked down and ate on his first day at the club.

Good win. It’s a shame to be negative but the same issue persists, we can’t finish actual chances.

Super performance. Consistency displayed as from last week. The level of commitment and work rate from every player is in marked contrast to what was on offer a few weeks ago. We look dangerous on the counter and while we finished badly last week we had our luck this week but it was thoroughly merited.

The main lesson is that we perform like this every week. If we do and I am sure Pearson & Shakespeare will drum this into them we will be on a very good path going forwards. Well done to them all. Femenia was excellent again as an example of a player who has lifted his game immeasurably. Great noise as well.

Fantastic result and great performance to carry on from a good one at Liverpool last week too.

We got that bit of luck we needed for the first and you could see the team perk up after that.

Great performances by Kiko, Kabs and Sarr again. Foster made a few good saves when needed. Special mention to Mapps who for the same game in row, out of position at right back had another great game and kept Rashford quiet.

Great shape, discipline and work rate from the lads.

1 clean sheet. 2 goals. 3 points, get in!!
