Me too, I’d be delighted if that is what ends up happening, but I happen to think with his penalty technique that definitely won’t be the case.
Troy was bound to miss one sooner or later, we know he's far from the perfect striker. He has a very good record with them though. Forget it and move on, I'm sure he'll be doing the same!
Bournemouth heads gone Steve Cooks just done an absolute madness, diving handball save in his own area
Positive result, we were by far the better team and played the football. They were looking really dangerous for the first 15 minutes and it looked inevitable they would score but we rode it out really well. Not a bad performance on the pitch bar Mariappa's second half. Masina firmly first choice left back now. Sarr brilliant again but should've scored from 5 yards out. Tormented his full-back though. Another clean sheet is just crazy considering the defenders on the pitch. We're going to spank Villa!
As others have said the injury to Sarr could be the most important thing from this. It does feel a bit like dropped points as we had a couple of good chances plus of course the penalty. On balance a draw was probably a fair result. That point is really useful though, keeping points ticking over is so important when you’re in the bottom half.
I think once the dust has settled this will be seen as a decent point. Keeps the run going with 4 wins, 2 draws and 0 defeats. I was actually surprised how well Spurs played. They controlled the midfield for long periods and Watford just had to bide their time. We got into the match though and created some very good moments. Doucoure had a great chance on 48 minutes and Sarr unfortunately has added to his catalogue of bad misses with another air shot right in front of the goal. Of course Deeney's penalty which was saved (not missed) and we can lay claim to 3 points. But I think overall a draw was fair. This goes to show it's going to be tough pulling away from the drop zone, as this run has only put us on level par with the others. We now need to go again and continue this impressive run. I see no reason for our form to drop though. Our next three all look like matches where we can take maximum points. Villa (a ), Everton (h ), Burnley (a). Then we have it tough with United (a ) and Liverpool (h ). Our defence is so much stronger now, and teams are finding good scoring chances hard to come by. We've only conceded 2 goals in our last 6 games, with 4 clean sheets. Superb stuff. Not good seeing Sarr limp off but that opened the door for Pussetto. Hard to judge him on those few minutes, but he saved us a point with that dramatic goal line clearance, so he's already made his mark in a positive way. We're not going to win every game, but today was one we could have nicked. It wasn't to be, but if we continue to play with the organisation and desire that has been in abundance since Pearson took over, I cannot see us going down. But, we have to maintain it.
I would have taken a point beforehand so it's hard to be down. From the Rookery it looked like Gasandair moved early so Deeney could have waited and placed it. Not sure why he didn't belt it like he usually does, don't change a winning etc. Fingers crossed for Freddie. Nice tribute from all for GT but why did the Spurs fans leave before the game started and then replaced by cardboard cutouts?
What a turnaround in Massina. Snappy on the tackle and excellent in covering the through ball. Made a lot of ground today. Tidy player.
Feels odd to say given how he started the season, but I am very much looking forward to him coming back.
That's just insane. I don't think I've ever seen a goal-line clearance quite as close as this before. But I seem to remember a couple of years ago, this happened to us. We had a close one against Spurs, then they went up the other end to score that offside winner.
Another resolute and impressive performance. One thing that still grates is the abysmal quality of virtually every free kick and corner.
Also, what's the big deal about Harry Winks? How is he even close to being an England starter. I genuinely though Capoue, Doucoure and Chalobah all played better than him today.
For a 0-0 the game had quite a few incidents, probably the best 0-0 I have been to! Hope Sara’s ok he was immense!
Enjoyable game, you were the better side for the vast majority of it. Even when Spurs aren’t playing well they’re annoyingly good at snuffing out good chances in the box and obviously it was frustrating to see Deeney miss the pen. I was curious to see how NP approached the game because I always felt like he struggled with organising his Leicester team to keep the ball against stronger sides. Really impressed with the midfield today though, they look transformed from when you played at our place. Chalobah was great, loved seeing him rag doll Alli to the floor in the first half. You deserved all three points but one and a clean sheet isn’t to be sniffed at! Looking well on course for a comfortable end to the season.
Adam Leventhal STAFF 1h ago 12 likes *SARR INJURY UPDATE* Hi there - have spoken to medical staff after the game and they tell me that it is a confirmed left hamstring issue but severity is still unknown. Will now have ice treatment for rest of the day / overnight. Then will go into training ground tomorrow morning for further assessment, may need scan depending on how shapes up in the morning. Fingers crossed not severe but obviously clear doubt for the game against AVFC on Tuesday evening.
Not a bad set of results. Few draws and Bournemouth losing. Apparently we have kept the most clean sheets in the league !
I doubt we'll see him for three weeks. A chance for others to stake their claim,as Chalobah,Masina and Dawson have done.
He has definitely been reborn. Another very good performance and one excellent covering tackle second half. I suppose a point is a fair reflection on the match. Just hope we can get Sarr back ASAP. He just looks perfect for our side. Big one Tuesday then rest everyone for the cup match. Total none event for us this season.
