Dawson keeping his spot with Kabasele on the bench up against Spurs' pace is a very odd move indeed.

Nige has hardly made a mis-step so far, but that's a real mind-boggler.

Watford are unchanged from the side that beat Bournemouth 3-0 last time out, but new signing Ignacio Pusseto is on the bench.

Watford XI: Foster, Mariappa, Cathcart, Dawson, Masina, Sarr, Doucoure, Capoue, Deulofeu, Chalobah, Deeney.

Substitutes: Gomes, Gray, Quina, Holebas, Kabasele, Pussetto, Pereyra.

Jose Mourinho makes three changes to the side that lost 1-0 to Liverpool last Saturday, with Jan Vertonghen, Erik Lamela and Giovani Lo Celso in for Danny Rose, Davinson Sanchez and Christian Eriksen, who will be on the bench alongside new loan signing Gedson Fernandes.

Spurs XI: Gazzaniga, Tanganga, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Lamela, Winks, Lo Celso, Aurier, Son Heung-Min S, Alli, Lucas Moura.

Substitutes: Vorm, Sanchez, Dier, Sessegnon, Eriksen, Skipp, Fernandes

They're apparently playing Japseye Tangopanga (sp?), some young kid, out of position at left back on the grounds that "he did well against Middlesbrough".

An early belly flop from our Troy and some fast feet from Geri Dee might turn his little teenage rocket to fame into a hopeless plummet back to earth.

We’ve got such a good midfield. Not many sides in the league can put out better than Doucoure Capoue Deulofeu Sarr. Plus Chalobah starting to look better and the likes of Pereyra on the bench.

BT making such a big deal over Capoue’s tackle / foul when accidentally got the spurs player knee. He got the ball first and it was accidental.

I think he knew exactly what he was doing and knew that would hurt their player.

  16. I suppose we have to be happy but **** but for about the most ****** pen you’ll see this year we’d have 3 points

Finely balanced game could have gone either way

Biggest negative is Sarr injury because Puscetto looked totally off the pace and very lightweight

Hope sarr has only pulled it, he hobbled off unassisted so hopefully just a couple of weeks out.

Despite the missed penalty it’s a point we have to be happy with I think.

Fair result in the end, both teams certainly had their chances. I think we played very well overall without opening them up too many times.

Always thought it was only a matter of time until Deeney misses a penalty, he’s never too far off the keeper with his spot kicks.

For those who haven’t seen it yet - that clearance off the line was 2cm from completely going over. About time luck was on our side.

Good thing we did sign Pussetto after all. Good goal-line clearance, though I thought he looked pretty weak other than that, he was twice out-muscled by Eriksen ffs - Pereyra needs to start with Sarr out (gutting he's injured, motm).

I knew Deeney was going to miss that pen.

Can't complain too much though, draw was a fair result.

Good in spells, definitely under the cosh for periods though.
I think a point is a good result but disappointing that we’re the first team to fail to score at home against Spurs in about a year. Awful penalty from Deeney, that’s exactly where a goalie would want it to go.
I hope Sarr’s injury wasn’t serious, he was such a threat today. His replacement made a great contribution- Pussetto kept that ball out by the width of a pube.

Should have won that. Pretty awful pen from Troy, but he played a blinder the rest of the game. Tricks 'n' Flicks the lot.

I really thought we'd lost it right at the end, but Iggy P cleared it with 1mm to spare.

    Disappointed.

Would have taken a point before the game as Spuds are one of those teams.

Doucs, Sarr and Deeney all had the chance to win it.

    Take a point.

    Simple summary;

    Played well

Could have won had Deeney scored the pen

Could have lost without Pussetto’s goal line clearance

    Point a fair result

Another great game from Adam Massina too. Chalobah was excellent, especially 1st half.

Shame about not converting the penalty. Bossed most of the second half after the initial onslaught in the first twenty minutes from Spurs. Hopefully nothing serious for Sarr. Great debut from Pussetto saving a point by the thinnest of margins.

Deulofeu needs to do better like passing players in and not continually hogging the ball and losing it. Also set pieces were poor. Too many times playing the ball aimlessly and indirect. Shame Sarr and Doucoure did not convert their efforts. Practice for Sarr on hitting looping balls I think in training. Still a point is a point albeit against a poor Tottenham we may think we have dropped a couple. Time to reset and focus for Villa.

Deeney was due a penalty miss, they way he takes them it’s inevitable. He virtually never puts them in the corners, so it was always a matter of time. Harry Kane takes penalties that can’t be saved, Deeney’s are always very saveable if the keeper waits or guesses correctly. It was only a matter of time.

A point was the absolute minimum expectation, which we got so can’t have too many complaints especially after our goal line clearance.

The big one is Villa, we absolutely must win that.

If we beat Villa on Tuesday, this was another positive point. Big loss to see Sarr going off - hopefully, as the commentators suggested, just a knock and he'll be back soon as he's been a vital part of our resurgence.

Missing a pen always feels like points dropped, but with the margin by which that save by Pussetto was not over the line, it evens out a little. I'd be gutted to see a ball that far over and not get a goal. Before technology, I am 100% sure that would be given. From the angle on the screen, it looked like it was over.

Not being beaten, not being terrible, not coming away with nothing - these are all positives. Our progress continues.

Before we gat carried away, does anybody know what Sarr has done? Could be a little bit cramp or a dead leg and he might be fine for Tuesday.
