Doucoure won the ball off Wilson which may have been a foul tackle. As the ball went upfield I saw Doucoure leaning over Wilson, who was on the ground. It didn't look like a pleasant chat. Presumably Wilson hsd said something to him first.

As they made their way back upfield, Wilson shoved Doucoure in the back. Not violent, no injury to our boy, but a melee started and Wilson got booked.

Wilson was stupid. If he had just given Doucoure some verbals as they went upfield he wouldn't have got booked.

How you going to play it? I'd go for- "Dean, why are we so ****? Pay me half of Deeney's weekly wage as a starting annual salary and watch me keep us up"

Surely there's a happy medium where we at least try to win the game ? Surely we're not that frightened of Muff and SU ?

If the Arsenal team that went through the 2003/4 season unbeaten became known as 'The Invincibles,' what will be called if we manage to finish this season without recording a league win?

We are so abject going forward it seems almost impossible to want to score. As soon as we break out of formation (defensive), one good counter from the opposition and we may concede. The fact of the matter is we almost play with 10 men behind the ball - almost terrified of going to far forward, or committing too many forward (wing backs). If we had a more competent defence made up of more agile defenders we could play a lot more attacking with the midfield - because they are the only players who look capable of scoring. But - we cannot do that - because we are so shoddy at the back, everyone has to peg it back to try to prevent a much better striker doing what ours clearly cannot do.

You recall right and then Pereyra who had been brilliant, put a lofted through ball out for a throw in.

Absolutely zero belief from the players that they can attack.

So many options. The Feebles, The Weaklings, The Inepts... But I think my favourite is simply "The Losers".

Stop beating your Gray drum, ffs. He came on today and I was embarrassed for him. He doesn't deserve to be anywhere near a starting place in a premier league side.

No one should be surprised by this. QSF is forming us into the same side he did in his first season. He's using the same approach he uses at every club.

A large number of posters predicted this would happen the moment he was announced.

This is how we're going to play for the rest of the season, unless we get another head coach in. The only way we'll be doing anything useful going forward is if someone goes into an Ighalo-esque purple patch. Other than that, it'll be a case of nicking the occasional scrappy goal and trying to hold out for a 1-0.

I said something similar on the shout box. It's great that we've a firm base, but when we do get forward and have a corner or free kick in a dangerous area, we've absolutely no threat.

It needs to be a part of our armoury, but like the defence and strikeforce, we've not scouted a dead ball taker since Tozser.

If anyone has any positives to take from that then I clearly don't understand football. Rancid and we're very much going down, just now it will be with dire 0-0's instead of 3-2 defeats.

Not quite true. Zarate was a set piece sex god. Just a shame he only lasted two games before injury and then we repeatedly loaned him out to other teams to score free kicks.

Which particular record is that Skyla? Only there's so many permutations. Our record winless run? In all divisions? or a league record?

14 games without a win in the Prem. It's certainly not a record. Sunderland have that with 36 games. I believe if we are to beat that we have to remain without a win up to March.

as long as we are keeping clean sheets, sooner or later 1 points will become 3

We just need to sort of the final third

    We'll be OK

How poor was Chalobah today. I completely forgot he was playing until he was taken off. Masina looked OK i thought, but taken off. Another injury.

He is not perfect but he offers something different to our other strikers by bringing others into the game. Success is the closest we currently have.

I'm going purely on what that bald Cardiff fan presenter said on Final Score... I think it's longest winless run as a Premier League Club. Whatever it is - it's depressing.

If GD would only choose ONE of the myriad options he seems to visualize our attacking may become more potent. At the moment he dallies around wondering which world-beating pass to make, totally selling his team mates down the river, then loses the ball & we are broken on with half the team out of position. Case in point, not playing Janmaat in on the right hand side of the box late in the first half...wtf? And how bad was his passing...only trumped by Hughes apparently making a play to get signed by Muff.

  33. With Gray our only available recognisable striker, if you can call him that, not sure what people expect QSF to do.

We've created chances in the last few games just not taken them.

In added on time v the Blades, Dawson broke their defensive line, was left alone, and had a gilt-edged, headed chance that he should have buried. That may have been down to their defence 'switching off', a well-worked routine from us or a bit of each. Your field so you tell me. Critical for that though was Holebas (I think) putting the ball on a sixpence between the Blades' defensive line and their keeper. So Holebas got that one right then. Something of a rarity.

Early in the second half today we tried something similar, or identical (I think) this time with Pereyra as the dead-ball kicker (I think). It didn't work at all. The free-kick was too long and went straight to their keeper.

From this stem two questions for you as the expert:

    1. Whatever routines you might have at corners and other attacking free kicks, unless you have a dead-ball kicker with unerring accuracy who can put a bit of 'whip' on the ball and land it in the right place then you've got one hand tied behind your back. Currently, I don't think we have that player that can do that consistently and,

    2. I presume that once a routine has worked (or almost worked) then its immediacy will be lost especially with analysts like you crawling all over it. I thought Muff were wise to that one today. Variety is the spice of life.
