0 of the open play goals were on the counter attack I think I read this week. Ivic-ball was just so turgid.

    I agree.

I've never been more convinced that a manager should go.

Of course we all want success. But ultimately, for me, watching football is about entertainment and excitement. We have got neither under Ivic and success has been patchy, to say the least, too.

Zola ultimately failed, but I will always look back at his time with the club fondly. I enjoyed going to the Vic back then.

Ivic's time at the club has been dull and uninspiring. I'm glad he's gone.

Happy Christmas everyone! The dour terd has been flushed.

It's taken until 19 December but finally we get some good news in 2020.

Now can everyone who defended Ivic please make themselves known so we can begin the executions.

Travel for work is exempted, though. But good chance of quarantine on entry to U.K.

Whilst some will be happy with a possible change in style, Im not expecting improvement from a league perspective under a new manager. Itll be the same or worse i think as the team will revolve around Deeney and the manager can't change it up if he wants and gets the axe if he does. Additionally i dont see the current midfielders becoming very creative and goalscoring all of a sudden. A shrewd signing or 2 in January might change my opinion but atm thats how i see it.
Looking at Watford fan comments last night on twitter regarding the sacking they were split over the decision.

Best not look if you want to enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  10. I feel a bit sorry for Ivic to be honest.

What coach of note will want to come to a club where:

    * He doesn't have a choice in the squad
    * Doesn't get a full squad to play with in pre season
    * Is sacked if he doesn't hit the ground running
    * Isn't allowed to discipline Deeney
    * Doesn't have a choice in the first 11 but must pick the players he is told to
    * He has an undroppable slow useless captain

    We're a total shambles

Really strange. You'd think that we'd be top of every "talented coach with proven track record"'s list ?
We all know the next coach will be either a recently sacked unemployed coach or a complete unknown from a minor league.
Instead of inheriting a motivated squad of Abdi, Deeney, Ighalo, Vydra he'll inherit a bunch of over-paid players who think they are too good league and don't want to be here. Good luck Luigi, Pedro, Pete, or Steve....wherever you are.

On reflection, I think if Ivic was allowed time (and didn’t have the pressure of having to get us promoted) and was allowed to sign a left back, a forward and a creative midfielder, then he would’ve eventually worked out. He was exactly the type of manager we needed, as far as taking no **** from our useless bunch of players, unfortunately he was set up to fail by the owners and the circumstances.

Good luck to Ivic in his next job. With a normal club routine and a normal say on team selection he should be ok.

He's received a fantastic sum of money from his little jaunt here. As will the next one. That's why they will be queuing up to take the job.

    I wanted Ivic to succeed.

    I liked what he said.

    He was committed to winning.

    But it didn't work out.

    Now back to square one...

    What was that?

I mean, it's easy to make Lineker the bad guy. He's a total ****, but he's right that our club is run terribly. Ok he's not got the nuance, but sacking managers like we do is a sign of bad ownership.

Maybe it's not the harshness at the end, as the outsiders assume, but more the poor hiring in the first place, the culture of undermining the very role itself, the toxic culture amongst players that has built over 5 years and the general state if desperation around a club that needs instant promotion to stave off financial disaster.

But overall, people seeing us sack yet another manager don't need to do research to realise we are a basket case club.

It’s unlikely we will get a British manager as they will want a say on players in/out and we won’t get a foreign manager in a job - as they would be bonkers to give up a role. It does seem to narrow it to a foreign manager, not in a job and who doesn’t know the Championship. Happy days

You may be right. If it was an end of the season sacking, the club would've had more time to choose and probe.

Bring in a former player to put back some of the Watford spirit back. Someone like Kenny Jackett.. It wont be the prettiest football but it may make the team fight together, which is something I think has been lacking for quite some time.

And Watford spin their quarterly coin and sack their head coach!

I’d say that given just a couple of weeks ago, clubs were playing in friendlies and players were taking part in Internationals, there’s a fair chance any incoming new coach would be granted an exemption if provided with a negative test.

There would be no point unless they change the operating model.

I'd hate to see Kenny come in, be undermined for 4 months and then sacked after a dreadful january window left him with a perfectly terrible squad full of players who resented being here because they weren't allowed to move to West Ham or Valencia on a free.

A few decent names on there, in amongst a wider list of horrible candidates. Issue being you can make a very convincing case for why none of the decent names would take it.

The left-field one I’d be interested in is Carrick. Got a feeling he’s going to make an excellent Head Coach one day soon.

Probably, although we didn’t know about the mutating strain a couple of weeks ago.

Netherlands has banned all flights from the U.K., for example.

Yep exactly, Howe and Bilic are just 8/1 because they are football managers and available. All the names at 25/1 are mostly just random and depressing rubbish.

I wonder how the players would react if we gave Emma Saunders the job? She clearly loves the club and has a football brain. But no management experience is an obvious flaw.
