Any club can make a poor management decision. But after 17 sackings you have to start asking questions

 

Gino has gone through more managers than some clubs have in their entire history.

 

17 sackings = 17 contracts paid up, that must be an eye watering number.

He was the wrong appointment from day one. All well and good winning a two Bob league abroad but the English league is a different kettle of fish.

The board are to blame here.

Can't wait for the next foreign appointment to he announced .

And to think, after 17 managers and god knows how many more, when we finally stumble across the right manager (and not a charlatan like Silva) they’ll be with us for approximately 6 months before they’re off to a better club.

Amongst the occasional highlights football is really quite depressing.

 

Shame Big Sam is not free, tbh.

 

The Pozzo's are lauded as ruthless but I actually just see it as they aren't capable of running the club effectively by hiring good managers that are being provided with the correct players.

 

Just checked, for comparison Arsenal have only had 19 permanent managers in their history. That is an incredible stat.

 

Absolute joke club. Pozzo and Duxbury should follow Vlad out.

 

Obviously the problem here is with the way the club is run and the players know what to do to get a manager out if they dont like them or their methods. No decent coach / manager will want the job. We are a shambles on and off the pitch.

 

The odd thing is they weren’t ruthless enough this time, the writing was on the wall long ago. So arguably one of their biggest strengths is even no longer in play.

 

We have to get promotion, and it was very clear we're not going to be in the top two with Ivic. Gino is ruthless, but the timing on this occasion was spot on.

Ivic was lucky to have survived as long as he did. We got plenty of underserved points from his 20 games. I worked out what we deserved from those games, just on performances, and that total was just 21 points. So we had to improve dramatically and with Norwich hitting their stride, it was obvious playing as we were we'd never be able to claw them back under Ivic.

Now we do have to get the right guy in. Someone who will allow us to attack teams. We need to throw a little more caution to the wind. We cannot be so slow and laborious in our attacks. I don't want a gung-ho manager, but someone who is astute and knows how to get a tune out of this squad.

We should walk this league, so I don't think we need someone amazing, just competent and who knows the league would be nice.

I think it should’ve happened earlier, maybe about 5 games ago. I seem to remember you and I gave up on him around the same time, so I don’t think the timing is perfect.

 

I would take Slav back in a heartbeat. Not going to happen though sadly.

 

This was the right decision . But god only knows who’s next ? They have to get it right this time !
