That's a Rubicon I'd really, really like to avoid crossing. Mega-anxiety over the ethical state of our ownership would be like jumping out of the frying pan and straight into the fire.

Heard we are being linked with John Terry

Anything on social media on the replacement?

To be honest I know it would mean financial Armageddon, but I’d happily write the season off and get Zola back in.

Sensible decision. If you give an investment manager £100 million and after 4 months he turns it into £75 million against the market - you sack them

God I hope not. On a par with the odious Fat Sam. Besides the ego clash between him and Deeney might spill out into a mass brawl at some point.

Can't see Foster doing that deliberately.

You’d have to admit it would be funny to see the fallout once Terry both drops Troy and shags his mrs, though.

I can honestly say I have hated far more of the seasons under the Pozzo's than I have enjoyed them.

Even when we went up and we sacked off half our squad and replaced them with the likes of Diamante, Oloure, Berghuis etc, followed by that absolute shambles under Mazzarri with equally inept players who clearly could not give a f**k about playing for us. This is when the rot set in and it has gradually got worse and worse and worse.

I just want my club back now.

Worse than BFS imo. Not sure I could get behind a team managed by John Terry

On reflection that is fair enough as Burnsy also mentioned.

We have an appalling record on the turnover of managers. We are literally treating them as disposable. The economic consequence and instability have to be a negative. The fact that we survived for five years in the top division is astonishing. But we will continue to support (and moan) as is the life of a fan. On this one, for me, it is an acceptable dismissal, as clearly it was not working. That may seem arrogant, but with this squad, we should be doing much better.

There is always hope that a new coach can inspire a renewed verve, energy and spirit, but do we have the players with the right attitude? Less hopeful on that front.

We need a manager and coach who gels with the players, is a good man manager, can adapt to different players and moods, provide inspiration and motivation, back his players, be tactically astute, disciplinarian yet a friend of the players, demands and gets respect, brings a top class coaching and fitness team with him, has a winning mentality, wins, insists on coaching and up skilling the players to play attractive, attacking football with a solid defensive system, forms strong and productive working relationship with the board/owners, offloads useless overpaid players, brings in quality players and has a long term and whole club plan for the present and future (in the top league). Can’t be that difficult to find!

Interesting times again my fellow horns.

I see the media narrative is already, Watford have sacked the manager who has them 4 points off automatic promotion and just won MOTM. Ivic will do quite well out of this.

I was campaigning for him to go after Cardiff, and predicting in posts (not solely by myself, in fairness) that Rotherham would be to Ivic what Norwich last season was to Quique - an ill-advised stay of execution that cost us valuable time and games to improve the situation rather than sink further towards the mire. So that's when my timing would have been perfect.

Maybe weve actually furloughed him till the end of April, that's using your noggin.

The timing coincided with exactly when I gave up on him, so it's spot on in my eyes - I might as well be running the club.

I’m a happy clapper but agree with this.

Ivic did okay in terms of stabilising a relegated team but clearly doesn’t know how to kick us on to promotion.

A good appointment could do just that.

We are a bizarre club, but the Pozzos seem to hire coaches to meet short term goals before moving onto the next when that goal has been accomplished. Their strategy has generally worked, but it can be pretty frustrating to follow at times.

Same here. Tried to defend him but today was impossible. Add us both to the board.

Yeh, BBC website said The Serb's sacking came after his side were beaten 2-0 at mid-table Huddersfield Town on Saturday - just their second defeat in 11 games - a spell which has also seen them draw four matches.

Bang on. Ivic didn’t do a terrible job but his management style was never going to give us a chance at automatic promotion.

I’ve tried to find my post but I think my line was the Rotherham game. I was prepared to give him 10 games without any questions asked, but beyond that there was no excuse for performances and results to not improve.

Of course, outlets like BBC will have a field day, although we're not quite so newsworthy now we're in the Championship. Even Gary Lineker hasn't bothered to pipe up yet.

Anyone who has not had to endure our games can take a glance, see we're in the play offs, won manager of the month, only been in charge for 4 months blah, blah.......but I've not see very many Watford fans say they think it was a bad decision.....and this tells you all you need to know on the subject.

I agree, I’ve no desire to sell my principals just to see the football team I support do better. I find that concept extremely strange.

He lost me around QPR/Bristol City time. I was prepared to let the second 45mins at QPR go if we followed that with something positive at BC - but it was so insipid, dull and hard to watch, it was just a continuation of what we saw at Loftus Road. Felt to me then we were at the start of a tailspin he wouldn’t get us out of as he wasn’t prepared to change or adapt.
