I thought keepers were quite good... However I've just had a centre back pass to his keeper only for him to let it go in the net, guess who it was? Scott Loach for Rotheram...

 

They've nailed the realism then.

 

Hull is my team on Fifa 15 online seasons at the moment, Hernandez is an absolute beast up top. Won 6, Drew 4, Lost 0. Due a defeat tho after 2 last minute equalisers to save me recently. On another note i love the feel and realism of the game on the PS4.

 

Watford online against others are brilliant. I go 4-3-3 and if I get a lead I switch to 4-4-2 to block up the middle. Worked well for me so far, 3 wins out of 3. I like now how it matches you up against a similar ability player, playing wtih a similar ability team. Not played fifa since 2011 so not sure if that's new to this game but it's nice to play online without having to use a top european team.

 

I play 4 at back with Cathcart and Ekkie centre with Dyer and Parades out wide. In middle are Toszer and Munari as ball winners and Anya to balance with pace. Up front Deeney playing centre behind Vydra and Ighalo both ahead of him either side to keep a tight attacking triangle.

Same team was involved in that goal I posted earlier.

 

Is that career mode? This is my usual squad in career mode atm:

Team I posted was for Online Seasons. It completely negates fast attackers thanks to Dyer and Parades. Ball winning midfielders are essential as they can allow quick breaks. Abdi comes on around 60+ along with FF and whoever else I need later on.

Can someone explain to me what UT is? It used to be an extra you paid for, does it still cost money?

 

Only if you decide to buy packs with IRL money (not really needed). You basically build a team of your choosing. But you need to buy players, which cost "coins". You get coins from selling players + matches. So you have to do a fair bit of buying/selling to get a good team (you get around 500 coins per match, players like Hazard etc go for 200k+, so it's best to make money via trading). As my work hours are pretty flexible, I buy in demand Watford players (Anya, Paredes, Dyer + Gomes with the odd Ighalo + Vydra if the price is dirt cheap) for cheap prices in the morning when not many people are playing, then sell them in the afternoon/evening when more people are playing and prices go up, for instance I just bought Anya for 850 coins, I'll be able to sell him tonight for a minimum of 1500.

How's the matchmaking in UT? If you're playing with a silver team will you be paired against a team of a similar level?

Terrible. The championship team I posted above got matched against a team consisting of: Courtois, Felipe Luis, Kompany, Vertonghen, Walker, Hazard, Fabregas, Toure, Navas, Aguero, Costa. It wasn't fun (only lost 4-1 though!), he's obviously been buying coins lol.

Yeah, it's basically a trading card game with a bit of online fifa thrown in. The market is all player-driven, so you can set whatever price you want for things, which is why the buy low-sell high strategy works so well.

Do you get given any prices to base the price you set? Is there a graph like there is on steam marketplace, showing the last sold price or something? This is something I'll set up tonight when I'm home from work.

Nope, but you can compare prices for a specific player, which lets you see the price of all that players cards on the market at that present time (there used to be a website like what you suggested, but it's vanished sadly). From that you can sort of base what price the player *should be*. Watch the cards with bids on (you can see the current bids) to see what they eventually end up, that's a good indicator as well. If you're on the 360, I don't mind sharing the prices I buy/sell Watford players at (it'll vary a bit between console otherwise). Also since you say you'll be starting, a great starter method for making coins is to play a few games with the crappy team you're given, then buy a bronze pack for 400 coins, you get 12 items and 1 rare, the minimum price for something on the market is 150 coins, so if you list everything at 150 coins (double check the prices to make sure you don't have something more valuable!), you're guaranteed profit. Helps boost the capital at the start before you can start buying/selling players!

 

Ah, that's a shame. I liked FIFA 13(?) where it would show you the ratings of the opponent before the game.

 

Fun fact: Mathias Ranegie has a higher attacking work-rate than Troy Deeney.

Anyone got any tips for defending? This is the first fifa with the timed tackles thing that i've played. Struggling so far, especially against the AI.

 

Don't lunge in, act as if it's real life, only press the tackle or foot in button when you're at least 85% sure you can make the tackle. Otherwise let them run into you and steal the ball that way.

 

Can't change it either, he's now out of my jurisdiction so to speak

 

I think I was using it in the same was as the old games where you could do it from a few yards away, but now you just get turned and left for dead. Also I'm having trouble breaking down defences which sit really deep. Without my through ball counter attacking game I'm struggling to score and keep getting knocked off the ball passing it around up front.

In fact, for some reason Deeney's attacking work rate was set to low, not sure why, changed to high.

Also for those annoyed about Paredes, he's still 85 acceleration and 81 sprint speed. If you're still annoyed at it being reduced it's because you're clearly a pace abuser and the worst sort of person.

 

You haven't played around with Anya's too have you?

 

His is high enough I reckon, funnily enough I was comparing with some other players in the Championship and some players are ridiculously high, Josh King of Blackburn and Ryan Fraser of Bournemouth are the two fastest players in the league on FIFA, I've left feedback on both to be reduced accordingly.

Antonio from Forest and Anya are in the top five, can't remember the other.

Josh King is ridiculously fast IRL as well. He's always been pacy on Fifa (90 pace on Fifa 13, 90 pace on Fifa 14) as well.
