Chalobah having another mare, he plays like he’s half asleep.

Stupid needless penalty to give away.

Unbelievably frustrated at conceding that penalty. Kick it out of play ffs. Or let Cathcart do it! Don’t start a foot-race back towards your own goal when you’re the slowest player on the pitch.

Deulofeu very isolated up front. The only player who’s offering any threat. Deeney’s done precisely **** all.

Not a great set of results elsewhere.

Certainly didn’t lack for hard work...quality on the other hand. We need to buy a bit of creativity and some strong defence this window to stay up.

    Off the bottom anyway.

Got what we played for but pedestrian performances out there. Chalobah thinks he's the dogs nuts but is so far off this level. A no-look pass straight to Sheffield United summed it up.

Kabasele and Foster outstanding. Save of the season and possibly performance of the season from Kabs.

Win your home games and draw your away games. Here we go.

Good point. Poor performance. Deeney, Chalobah both miles of the pace and ananymous. Mariappa simply dreadful with his passing miles below the required standard.

Well played Kabs, Kiko and Foster.

Not the best performance, we'd have lost with QSF, so I'd take the point but we must get 3 on Saturday.

Defensively Kabs was great, however especially first half, he gave the ball away time and time again.

Good point gained all things considered.

As points go, I think that’s better than any of the home draws we’ve managed so far this season. The time to beat Sheff Utd was the home match.

Just a shame we actually took a chance for once, looked like we had them where we wanted them and then threw it away with possibly the laziest penalty you’ll ever see conceded. Hughes has looked good in recent games but completely dropped a bollock there. Stupid to assume their man would stop chasing once he’d won the first ball so comfortably. A complete brain fart.

It’s 100% win or bust on Saturday v Villa. Win and we’re still in it, just. Anything less and we’re left squabbling over 19th or 20th with Norwich. With the transfer window about to open too rarely has one league match had so much riding on it since promotion.

That’s an old one, told by Rodney Marsh about Alf Ramsey as England manager. When informed by Ramsey that he planned to pull him off at half-time, Marsh claims to have responded “Blimey, at QPR we just get given oranges”.

Thought we were pretty lucky with the point. What a save by Foster. Not sure if it was lucky, but it looked a contender for save of the season. Thought we looked woeful going forward after Sarr came off. We need to improve massively in the final third if we are going to survive.

This. I'd go on to say that it's an important point given how Sheff Utd have been playing. The only real downside to today is that almost all the results (bar West Ham losing) went against us

That was a fine display. At the end of the day we were lucky to get a point, Shef United were a well worked machine with so much discipline, whereas Delofoo at times acted like his old idiotic way.

Blades v hard working closing down and 16 shots vs 4.
    A good point.
Can be critical of a couple of individuals brain fart moments but as Pearson says it’s a team and we ground out that result together.

Soton win a killer but Brighton sinking fast.
    Concentrate on our own results.
Halfway thro the season and second batch of 19 games will be so much better than the first lot based on the past few games.

Before that kicked off, a point would of been a decent return. We got that, but rode our luck in large periods of the game. Sheff Utd are no mugs - and they play decent football. It was there to be won second half but we never really looked on it today, despite taking the lead against the run of play from Delafoo. Great goal, and it looked like a possible "shock" was on. Then, Hughes, who has been one of our standout players of late, does a totally brainless tackle just inside
the area when he had ample time to clear the danger before it even came to that. Foster almost got to it, but on balance going in at HT 1-1 was fair.

Having said that, Sheff Utd could so easily of gone ahead, if it wasn't for two stunning saves from Foster. Both very close range. Great keeping, probably earned us the point in the end. Well, he did, there is no probably about it. Sarr had a good first half running at them non stop and put in a great cross ball pass to Deeney who was a little slow to react, that was just after they equalised. Kabs going down looked scary, but thankfully he ran it off. Sarr's eye injury doesn't look too bad and hopefully he'll be OK for Villa.

Second half was a bit of a damp squib. They had the better of it, and had a few decent chances, again Foster alert to danger, Their top scorer comes on and almost scores with his first shot. Great save again. Mapps wasn't quite at his best today, a few lazy passes gave away possession in dangerous areas. but thankfully nothing to bad came of it. Deeney put himself about but never really did a lot apart from have a go at the ref. Chalobah, he does try hard, but he really looks
finished at this level. If we go down and keep him, he may come good next season, but why are we playing him? Thankfully Doucs is back for Villa. Preyera came on SH, and did win a dangerous FK that Delafoo put just wide late on. As the game wound down, it seemed we had very much settled for a point, as any forward threat petered out.

So, a game that promised much and gave us a result in the form of moving up the table by one place - but having the extra two points would of been nice. Still very difficult for us, with Villa winning we really need to beat them on Saturday. That would close the gap a little. Wet Spam at least lost, so they are becoming a team to catch. Overall, good effort today. They are fifth on merit. and they probably should of won the game on chances, but we held firm till the end and
came away with a useful point. Next two are at home, and we really need six points to keep our slim chances alive.

Great Shout Box today. Special shout to Amazon Prime for letting us watch the whole game live. Five points under Pearson so far, not too shabby.

    John Barnes - ****
    Nige - seems alright

    foster good
Defence ok, but we were being overrun by Sheffield
challobah - not as good as doucs at his best
Gerry D , good goal, lots of effort
Deeney , nice flick on, not as good as he could be
Sarr , looked worse when he went off
Hughes - aggghhh , but one of those things I guess
    Eveybody else ok

I think credit to Sheffield , they look alright, so drawing with them while a shame is fair enough

Another point to add to the survival pot. We're picking up the results I expect us to be getting now.

A battling performance, a clinical finish and a little bit of luck going our way. These are all the ingredients we need in order to survive.

Were we perfect? No, plenty of silly mistakes, but the laziness attitude has gone. They are working their socks off. Some players are responding better than others. Uplifts in Kiko and Gerri's application. Kabs was awesome today and my Man of the Match, but Foster made some amazing saves, one of which was as good as scoring a goal, as it was one of those 99% certainties which incredibly stayed out.

We didn't create too much in the final third, but these away games are matches where we've got to take what we can get. It's the home games where we've got to do the business from now until the final day of the season.

Pearson MUST see that Deeney alone up front is not an option if we’re going to stay up. Slow, pedestrian and offers literally nothing except pashun and shouting at the ref.

Chalobah was finished months ago. He’s done. Sell to a Championship club and move on, he’s an absolute liability.

Sarr is suddenly our most important player.

Decent point today but a long long way to go, hopefully starting with a win against Villa.

Take that & run. Lets be honest luck was on our side today, if it was not for BF or if the game went on another 10 minutes, they probably would have scored the winner.

Our problem is build up play & attacking intelligence is barely existent. It's the old Watford, hit & hope punt outs from defence & blind downfield clearances that 9 times out of 10 go straight to the opposition. You can see it before it happens. Sadly, I still think we are down it's just that the day of reckoning will be delayed. So be it.

Difference between last year & this year is that the midfield had goals & that has all dried up. Can you honestly see that coming back?

Disappointing performance. The big negative for me is that after what could/should have been a morale boosting win, nothing has changed.

Ok we scored, but it was something of a random occurrence. We still look clueless going forward. Our defence kept giving the ball away. We have players like Pereyra, Deeney and Chalobah who absolutely have no place in a side fighting for survival. They offered nothing (to be fair to Deeney he does win a good few headers defending set pieces, but not sure that merits a place).

Mariappa showed why he isn't premier league standard. Should someone start a gloating thread about it?

Kiko was excellent, Foster made some great saves, hughes was ok apart from his blatant lack of professionalism for the penalty, Kabs looks good and Del scored. That's all the positives I can glean.

Any hope of a corner being turned are gone. We are just as in the stew as we were before. I think we have maybe more than the 2 or 3 wins in us that I foresaw a few weeks ago, but we still seem a long way from the 7 or 8 we need. We are simply too bad at too many basic things.
