Sannino's reign as Watford's head coach in serious doubt [Wobby]

    Horse's head perchance?

  2. My view is the complete opposite, he has a realistic chance of captaining a side to promotion and if that happens this year will be a blast for him. Compare that to the type of season he might get at Lesta or QPR with the double challenge of a new team and higher level football, I don't think Troy will go anywhere for now.

Sorry for doubting you, nothing personal, but this just seems like a convenient way to 'back down' and keep your 'ITK' status intact

Not playing well and less fluid in attack? 3-0, 2-0, 4-1! God help somebody if we play well.

YK, I don't mean this to be dis respectful in any way as I enjoy your posts very much and I am not doubting your intentions giving inside info as I'm sure it's appreciated by all.

But you have said twice now that from the information you ve had you are fairly certain he ll be gone shortly and then you said you were shocked he was still here . You then said you will have a definitive answer after Saturdays game . You ve also implied you know why the McGugan situation is more serious than Dyer one but you ve not told us why .

I'm not saying you don't have contacts in the club , I'm sure you do . It just seems that the info you giving out isn't consistent or perhaps reliable .

Of course you may turn out to be right and Sannino does get sacked , but until the club announces it no one knows for sure .

So why is Beppe still here?

Has it been agreed he will stop until a replacement has been found/can start?

Have results and public backing from some players given him the full backing of Gino?

Has the backing always been there, just doubted by some players which was picked up by the press? (Tuesdays goal celebration adding to it all?)

As mentioned previously, no matter who is manager, what a dilemma some players are creating on recent performances (ie FF & MV).

I actually think we look pretty comfortable in attack. We're a long way from Zola's style of football, but we're perfectly adept at it for this league.

In fact, I'd say we look less like a wobbling tower of cards now than any time in the last two years. In this league it's better to have a solid defence covering for an unspectacular attack, than a brilliant attack covering for a poor defence. We've all spent two years seeing how that's the case.

Anyone who supports Leeds and was present when Cellino was speaking after the match was fairly certain Hockaday would be gone shortly too. But then he wasn't. Sometimes people change their minds.

Cellino is renowned for unpredictability. The Pozzos are not. I doubt very much they d say one minute they d sack him and then the change their mind the next.

If the WO and a reliable source like YK both believe not only that there are problems behind the scenes but that these problems at least came close or are close to meaning the end of Sannino, perhaps they're both correct. Who's to say the man came close to being sacked but then for whatever reason didn't, and then made himself even harder to sack with Saturday's result?

Don't all be so quick to assume everyone is a stirrer, there will have been a lot of stuff unpublished on this I'm sure.

I think our owners are not the sort to make public outbursts. They will do what they've got to to as and when they see fit to do it.

Dont think there are accusations of stirring being directed ( apart from towards the Observer)

The only people who would know if Sannino was about to be sacked would be Pozzo snr and Jnr, Duxbury, Nani and maybe Deeney but I doubt it. It seems unlikely that any of those would be leaking to anybody let alone the press or other staff .

The likelihood is like any every large (ish) organisation there are rumours flying around all the time, generally based on hearsay and rumour with a bit of fact thrown into the mix.

Of course he may be sacked but whats the point of saying so, until its know for certain.

Okay then, in that case my point is that you shouldn't be so quick to assume Frank Smith and/or the WO are nothing but stirring. There will have been more than just hearing players are unhappy for them to run a headline like they did. They risk their relationship with the club and their professional reputation writing a headline like that and I can't see them doing it on a whim or after just a massive amount of conjecture.

What I will say though is I noticed the slightly negative spin yet put on the win when they spoke about the game being tied at the point that the penalty was conceded. Can't remember what the wordig was exactly but I remember the language Elise's was a little bit too suggestive and negative shall we say. That's just me though.

If Sannino is creating problems due to his style of management I'd be surprised if one result (Leeds) would save his job.

As has been mooted around these boards, once several bad results occur then the problems would most likely rise again (as they only ever seem to, not when results are going well.)

So why wait? If the problem is Beppe - goodbye.

If Beppe AND others (more than one player) are equally seen to be at fault then maybe, just maybe, some kind of arbitration is going on to sort it out once and for all.

I think have a right to question the Observer/Frank Smith and I dont think Im alone in thinking the manner they reported the incident was in a sensationalist style. You of course, have a right to believe the opposite .

In my opinion we have the players to have both, a solid defence and be spectacular in attack. After all, we still have Vydra, Deeney, Abdi, Anya and some great extra players in addition. Surely our squad is better equipped than it was under Zola.

Edit: But I agree with you. My "tower of cards" analogy was maybe a bit too negative. But I still think that results could suddenly go bad though, if we don't start playing to our potential.

If he was to be sacked I'm not surprised it hasn't happened yet. They now how important games are in this league and didn't want to go in to a game with no head coach and possibly some assistants. They don't want to end up like Palace where nobody seemingly wants the job. International break after Huddersfield might see something happen but not sure it will. Once again on Saturday I saw a togetherness in the side which bodes well and while we have that and we are winning no point in changing because some aren't happy. Can anybody shed any light on what's happened with Mcgugan?

Personally, I like to look at the bigger picture rather than just the score. Two of those scores were against teams in the bottom five of the table and Rotherham outplayed us for most of the match. If you think that we are playing well, taking into consideration the quality of our squad, then we just have to accept that we have different standards - and that's fine with me!

With regards to the above & me saying a couple of posts ago if Beppe is the problem then sack him; we're winning games inspite of Sannino if he's really that much of a distruptive force so why keep him around?

Looking from the outside in I hope he stays but then it's not my decision.

If they're waiting for a bad run of results to use as an excuse to sack him then I'd rather they just did it now instead of ****ing things up later in the season. Clearly something has happened, I have no inside knowledge but the players looked happy enough on Saturday though, Fernando wasn't that pissed off that he was taken off on a hat-trick as he was having a laugh with Beppe after the game. It's pretty clear that some players don't want to play under Beppe and I think it's more likely at the moment that they'll be off rather than the manager.

Whats this? Somethings happened with McGugan and Beppe? While I think about it wasnt he one of the alleged ringleaders in the revolt before last seasons Huddersfield game?

Don't think the Pozzo's want a reaction like when Southampton sacked Adkins, they got lucky with Pocchettino, won't necessarily happen as well for us if we did sack him.

If the friction is between the entire squad and Beppe, as I believe was reported by JM, then I would imagine he will go

If the friction is with two key players then I imagine they will go

Either way, wish we could all concentrate on getting behind him/new manager (delete as appropriate) and the football as this is a great start to the season with a squad of the strongest players I've seen since 1984

I'm in no way ITK and I have no idea what's happening with Sannino. But I spoke to a close friend of a few of the younger British players and apparently none of them like Beppe, he shouts at them aggressively in Italian and doesn't give any reason/explanation for dropping players.

He was left out of a match day squad, some people put two and two together and passed it of as exclusive ITK information.

It's all getting rather tiresome now to be honest.

    No details have publicly emerged.

I took the Lloyd Dyer approach on Friday, seeing as that seems an acceptable thing to do to your boss. Didn't work for me or poor Lloyd, he gets left out of the squad and I don't have a job to go to tomorrow!
