Has anyone mentioned possibly finding out who we have signed over the previous years? I'm sure the likes of Suarez were never officially announced when they signed?

Luis or Mario Cude ? Mario was a breath of fresh was he not ? Magnificently useless.

I would hope that we have young players like Quina, Pedro, Willmot, Penerada (where is he?), Pussetto (if he stays) and hopefully a few new faces. I doubt the B team will be any worse, and hopefully some of the young players will progress. I doubt the first season back, will be easy. I’d take mid-table, and some entertaining football (hopefully). Pozzo’s need to go back to providing a platform for young players who can make a name for themselves, rather than playing the same old

  4. No we didn’t. We could have but we didn’t. And if we did have we wouldn’t be relegated this weekend would we.

If the idea of a sliding scale is true, then it is also true for every club on their relative position on the scale.

Oh Christ I forgot about Mario.

I'm sure Luis was one of 5 Colombians to join, and that was announced a year or two later?

Dawson. You are right we didn't spend £20m a head and replace the entire back 4 with quality premier league proven 25 year old defenders. We get less to spend to upgrade our squad than other clubs in the prem. We have to be very smart about where we invest those limited sums and I agree we haven't been really since we brought in Chalo and Hughes under Silva.

Not sure Cude. We did sign several. Ask TheRecluse or Lowerrous about the details. Has the same agent as Sarr and Andre Winker Gray.

Does anyone actually think the lack of coverage is a bad thing? It's a bit annoying that we don't get perfect highlights etc, but I think my life is better without being able to watch every game. When you don't have the option it makes choosing not to watch every game a lot easier.

One other thing I loved about the championship is you'd play teams and not have a ******* clue who any of their players are and be pleasantly surprised by some. That doesn't happen in the PL.

You could see it as a PR move from the club to attempt to appease the fans.

Would take a hell of a lot more than that though.

I say a public flogging for Giraldo, Roy and Deeney in front of the town hall. Broadcast on the club's magnificent social media feed. Guaranteed to keep the club in the limelight as well.

I'm kind of picking on you but I've seen others say the same thing
I cannot see us selling Sarr without a very sizeable profit as I suspect there is a sell on clause. Not sure anybody will pay what we want
Deulofeu is injured and teams will need to see how he holds up when back.
Doucoure may go somewhere but sadly not for the money we thought we would get a couple of years ago
Hughes. Works really hard but is he going to make many Premier League teams stronger, I'm not sure.
    Pedro will not go anywhere
Who is going to buy Chalobah?

He's got to be approaching 30 hasn't he? Past his best. Maybe he could work with Harry the Hornet?

In all seriousness, players like Fessi, Anya, Battochio, Abdi and Pudil were way more likeable than the charlatans currently playing for us.

Wouldn't shock me if Sarr goes out on loan to a big club next season (with a sizeable loan fee obviously).
Deulofeu will go in January window, probably to AC Milan. He's been after the move for at least 18 months.
Capoue will go back to France.
Doucoure will end up at someone average like Everton or Newcastle.
Hughes will end up at somewhere like Brighton or a replacement for Declan Rice at WHU? However, if we made him captain and promised him promotion first time of asking he may stick around? Seems to care at least, but then this is his own career we are stalling for 12 months!

We'd get around £20m for Deulofeu, £25m for Doucoure (probably would've been double that 12 months ago), £7-8m for Capoue? Pereyra would fetch £10-15m you'd think.

Can't see Chalobah or Joao Pedro going anywhere. Chalobah hasn't proven anything since his injury at Premier League level and would be a big gamble for someone! Joao Pedro hasn't proven anything full-stop.

Hopefully we can flog Capoue to China or the Middle East and get some £££ for him. He's one I'll be sad to see go.

I would've been sad to see him go before this lockdown, but in all honesty his attitude has stunk ever since and his body language is that of someone who doesn't care or want to be here! Would probably say that about all of the players with exception of Will Hughes!

With Capoue and I think Chalobah, they both have a sort of languid playing style in possession of the ball.
It can be confused with not trying.

Nah, I know what you mean, but for me we see the best Capoue when he's literally pressing sides and winning the ball back. Now he just wants to sit there and try and hollywood ball every time he gets it. Doesn't seem interested or up for the fight.

  29. Neither did Burnley. Didn’t have super wealthy owners. Have bought sensibly and to a plan.

Neither did Newcastle, Sheffield United, Southampton....

Just flog Capoue in front of the town hall. Most of us would. Lazy so and so. Had all the ability but never the mentality to make the most of it.

Southampton seem set for stability. Newcastle if they get taken over by Saudi Arabia.

Just offering a differing view - would you want to be like Newcastle or Burnley? They don't ever do anything in the cups and they just hover around mid-table whilst playing pretty turgid football. I'm mainly trying to make myself feel better but the PL really is pretty crap for everyone but the top 6.

  35. Hogg-DEENEY!!!

A club getting taken over by an oil regime is not something you can really account for (it's certainly something that will only happen to 'big' teams and not us). Southampton seem stable now, but what happens when Ings and Hassenhuttl leave? I don't expect to see them in League 1 on minus 12 points again any time soon, but they did go from Europe to almost getting relegated in the space of less than two years, so let's see where they are in 10 years time
