Britos can play there apparently so not quite so bad.

The same is true for almost every team in the league to be honest. Paying the wages of three decent left backs is a pretty pointless exercise.

We would have to be spectacularly unlucky to have neither fit at the same time.

Plus Britos can play left back and I'm sure Nyom could switch over to the left if we really ran out of options.

We have still got Holebas. I imagine he's one of the highest earners.

Oh yeah. So easy to forget about him. I suppose I just subliminally wrote him off as somebody who'll be shipped off to Italy on January 2nd.

Doubt it; he's a defender, came from a league which has lower wages on average than the Prem, is over 30 and has never moved for a large fee (500,000 and 1,000,000 euros were his last two moves).

He's probably not on chump change but I'm sure many of the midfield and forward line are earning more.

Obviously any club would suffer if there were multiple key injuries but I think the only single player that would make me think "Oh S***" if he got injured long-term is Gomes.

Deeney, Gomes and Cathcart would be mine. The consistent of the defenders is Cathcart.

A 'plucky defeat' for Norwich away at city, we'll take that thanks very much. We're 9 off relegation... And 9 off the top!

We were 100-1 for a top 6 finish at the start of the season, seems to have dropped to 10/1 now...

I actually don't think Leicester are that good.

    Firstly, their defence is poor.

Secondly, look at the teams they've played:

BEAT: Sunderland, West Ham, Villa, Norwich, Palace & West Brom.

    DRAWN: Southampton, Stoke, Bournemouth, Tottenham

    LOST: Arsenal

    That's a load of sh*t teams!

Still have to play City, United, *Chelsea, Everton & Liverpool twice.

When going through the table, there isn't a load of quality teams this season and Leicester have taken advantage of that but I'm sure their bubble will burst in December.

Nov 28: United and then after that they play, Swansea, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool & Man City.

And of course, us next week ;)

I have a sneaky feeling they may just be dragged in to a battle if Vardy stops scoring.

Leicester wont be dragged into a battle - they may be mid table at the end but nowhere near relegation - they only need about 5 more wins to be safe. Leicester's biggest strength this season is that they are never beaten so even though their defence isnt great they keep getting the points even though teams now know about Leicester's comeback reccord they keep producing the results - that isnt a conicidence

Leicester are the come back kids, but we don't let teams come back cause we don't let in goals, so all we have to do is score and we should win 1-0; that's my prediction.................

    1-0 to the Golden Boys!!!

This is it - they keep getting out of jail after giving moderate teams one and two goal leads: 1) can't keep doing that and 2) better sides, including well drilled mid table ones, e.g. Us, won't allow it. We have a good chance of three points.

West Brom are supposed to be good defensive wise but cleary not today.

Vardy and Marhez are the 2 key players for Leicester who need to be stopped and we have a habit of ending good runs..

    Yesterday for example!

Chelsea surely are out of top 4 contention now!

One presume they might do enough to move up at some point.

I'd have put WBA in the same category you've described there.

IMO our defence would not have let in any of those goals. WBA had a real off-day at the back

  30. There is a difference between being good defensively, and parking the bus

    WBA are not good defensively

(saying that they should have had at least 1 pen yesterday tho)

Only four of those teams I would classify as really poor, and credit's where credit's due, they've got results against some tricky opponents often under challenging circumstances. Beaten West Ham away, drawn at Southampton and at Stoke both from two goals down (I know we won at the latter but they're an established top 10 PL side, and will always give better sides than us problems), won at a WBA team managed by Pulis whose sides are normally pretty solid from 1-0 down, beaten a Palace side who have an excellent away record under Pardew, and have only dropped points at home against Spurs and Arsenal (their only defeat). It's true their defence isn't very good but only Man City have scored more goals and they're a side that just don't know when they're beaten which suggests a lot of fitness among their players.

I reckon a point there would be an excellent result, only bettered by Everton and West Ham.

Also, just a note (or two) or caution:

Blackpool ended up being relegated and Hull finished with just 35 points but were luckily saved by an even more inept Newcastle. Not saying this will happen to us, as we have a much better manager than they did with a much more solid defence, but just pointing these out as examples of what can happen to a team that most people assume to be safe by Xmas...

    2-0 down
