Apparently the best manager of all time totally changed their formation and put one up front today to try and counter Southampton. Good skills.

 

Muff look awful. The side they have out atm wouldn't make the play offs in the Championship. Their play is completely dependant on a fast striker like Wilson. Shows how poor their recruitment was to not have a decent back up player of a similar ilk when it's so important to their style of play.

 

Don't feel sorry for Bournemouth at all. The sooner they're relegated and Brighton have taken their place, the better.

Hopefully Spuds will give Villa a good tonking tomorrow. Would be nice of the bottom 5 only pick up 1 point between them this weekend.

If we don't stay up this season with these ****ing terrible teams like Villa, Bornmuff and Sunderland in the league, we might as well wind up the club.

 

We remain the last side to have beaten Brighton. What a job CH is doing there.

I think the point made on Sky this morning about our transfer policy was very astute. They had a journalist on who said our recruitment is fantastic because so much of our work is done outside the two windows. Whereas other clubs can often panic buy during the weeks u are allowed to sign players, our work is planned a long time before. We probably already have a list of targets for next season if we stay up. Muff have been unlucky with injuries but I'm not sure either they or Norwich have given the impression of a totally co-ordinated transfer approach

 

Despite the fact that we're only just into November, I don't feel cocky when I say that I am quite sure we'll be fine this season. I say this for the reason you've just highlighted; that there are some truly shocking teams in the league this year.

Looking at the quality of the bottom 5 this season I think our head coach has needlessly gone & made us FAR BETTER than we actually need to be to stay up.

I just can't imagine Muff fans saying that. That would be some immense level of obsession if it was true and even they're not that weird.

Unrelated, but now we have a 9 point gap between us and the bottom 3. A three game gap, which gives us a fair bit of leeway to slip up. That is priceless for us at this point in time

 

I just opened the BBC Sports page to see the score as I'd not remembered this game was on. A hearty laugh followed.

Is it just me when it seems that the standard of this league is distinctly worse than it was last time we were here, or is it just our highly creditable start that has made the other teams look worse?

IIRC, the teams in our mini-league in 2006-07 included Charlton, Sheff Utd, Wigan, West Ham and Fulham and apart from West Ham, I don't remember these teams receiving so many tonkings, certainly not by this stage.

They've imrpoved greatly, so full credit to them. However they're not hitting the target so yay.
