We have elevated our obsession to smartly finding threads to derail at any moment, of course drawing inspiration from the Pozzo's legendary scouting network. They are still languishing in the tinpot realms of starting specific threads from scratch. If that doesn't indicate the gulf in stature, I don't know what does.

  2. Bournemouth - so tinpot they haven't got a proper forum. Every team has a vitalfootball forum - for it to be your only forum is deeply tragic.

Difference between us and Bournemouth is their success is pretty much down to them having a good manager. When he leaves for bigger and better things (which he will) they're in the ****. Our success is built on having world class owners who put in place everything needed for the club to be a success and therefore the coach is just a replaceable person (as we showed last season).

That's really so unfair on QSF. The bloke has been incredible this season and easily the equal of any manager in the division. I'd love a peek at an alternate reality where Slav is still in charge.

It wasn't meant as a downer on QSF. But if we lost QSF we'd be able to replace him relatively easily with little upheaval. As was seen when Slav left. Not so sure Muff would be in the same situation...

Don't think that's what Forza was implying, he was simply highlighting that Bournemouth's current lot is built on the shoulders of one man, whereas our club is not. That doesn't mean QSF isn't doing a great job (I firmly believe he is), simply that it won't all fall apart if/when he leaves. I'm of the opinion that a bigger English club will come in for him in the not too distant future. His reputation in this country has clearly surged, as is evident every time the pundits and journos talk about him lately.

On a completely different note, the idea that we spent 33 million in January is hilariously ridiculous. It's well documented that we spent 4 million ish on Suarez, so even if you assume the Doucoure deal was 8 million up front (which it wasn't), that leaves us as having spent 21 million on our 18 year old starlet.

    Which is clearly utter *******s.

Just saw this on one of their other forums and I couldn't believe this was from a football fan because it just showed a basic lack of understanding of the rules/laws!

"If Watford are safe and Granada are in danger of relegation later in the Season - they could in theory ship out Deeney and Igloo ( ) for the last few fixtures and weaken their side here - which would be unfair on the teams who had already played them and give an unfair advantage for Granada over their competitors"

    Eh!?

I presume whoever posted that isn't aware of the transfer window which ended this week!

Words fail to describe the lack of respect I now have for that person.

  9. TBF a great idea, ensure all 3 clubs remain top flight clubs, particularly if by throwing a game we get muff relegated

In fact lets just throw games which affect muff once we get to 40 points

We can give our new Padawhatsit fella a run out whilst Deeney and Iggy are doing the biz

If Watford have a midday Saturday ko and Granada have a late Saturday ko, Deeney and ighalo could play for Watford, quickly jump on a plane and arrive in time to play the second half for Granada ensuring their La Liga survival . If Udinese have got the Sunday fixture they could even feasibly be able to squeeze that one in too .

That can't be allowed. It's unfair to the other teams in Serie A and La Luga and unfair to the other prem teams that have already played Watford with a Deeney and Ighalo that aren't jet lagged and or injured from the extra games.

I can't believe this loophole hasn't been closed yet .

  11. Just a thought not lend them QSF as well

You seem to be forgetting Pantilimon and Amrabat but even still it would be a figure that is far above the likely figure for Adalberto (i.e over £10m).

On a slightly different note... Brighton v Brentford tonight. Knockaert v McEachran.

If only they could both lose.

Come on guys, Bournemouth, like us, are a breathe of fresh air in this league. Rather see them next year than WBA Sunderland and villa.

We've both had great luck in finding two good owners, albeit with slightly different methods.

Obviously we've a little tiny bit of history but as long as we do well in our own right I would rather see them doing well than, say, Stoke.

There's something about Bournemouth which is just slightly off. I should like them, plucky little club, but somehow I just don't. The press have a big love-in with them but I don't really care about that. Is it the gamesmanship? The Russian oligarch bankrolling their transfers? I don't know. Howe is talented but somehow dis-likable. Every time we're linked with a player up pops Muff throwing money at our targets. Get your own bloody scouts! I'd like them to go away but probably they're going to hang and for a while a bit like Pleat's L***n did back in the 80's. TBF they're a good side.

Ah well. It makes life interesting.

Looking at the table, the form of Bournemouth and now Swansea does make me wonder if more than 40 points will be needed this year now. Wins for Norwich and Newcastle today will put them on approx 1 point a game (Newcastle just under, Norwich just over) but either way on course to hit 38 points. I think it's going to the wire for a number of teams.

If you extrapolate Newcastles current points total to 38 games they would end on 33.25 points.

We are currently on 33 points .

Having looked at their squad I cannot see how they are bending the 8 British player rules, they have 5 at most!

Surely they've got to be the most uninformed fans in England?

  22. I'm glad we decided to pi55 all over the 8 british player rule

I'd do the same to the must wear pink underwear rule as well

Extrapolating doesn't work because there are so many factors involved. Injuries, fixture list etc. Pretty sure Leicester had less points than the Toons this time last year and they ended in 41 points. Just think all the teams down the bottom will keep pushing each other

on MOTD they just stated that Villa are ONE point worse off than Leicester were at this stage last season... make of that what you will.

And Townsend looked very good for Newcastle today.

A goal every 5.3 games in the Premier League. Plus Norwich will look to get back most of the ridiculous fee they paid for him.

Sigurdsson looked decent again yesterday, i'd like to see him at the Vic next season. I'm kinda baffled why there are so few decent crossers of the ball or dead-ball experts in our side.. don't they practise? I'm sure crossing the ball used to be a standard requirement of a professional player back in the day..it seems like a speciality now.. :/

Muff have actually won more points on the road than at home.

A note of caution for when they come to ours!

Arsenal doing to them in those two minutes exactly what they did to us second half.
