OK.. lets see... we beat Chelsea and Man Utd (granted they've been a bit bobbins) Played Leicester twice and didnt lose. Won at West Ham who have mostly been decent since. granted got heavily beaten at Citeh and at home to Spurs when Boruc lost it badly.
We had a dodgy few games as it took us a while to get round the loss of several key players through injury, but since the poor first half at Southampton at the start of November, we have been mostly been playing pretty well, without necessarily getting the results we should have had, for want of being a little bit more clinical when dominating.
2 defeats to top six sides and 20 points in last 12 PL games isn't relegation form.

Still a long way to go, of course, but 4 wins (or 3, and 3 draws) gets us to 40 points. I would hope we are capable of at least that, barring another injury crisis.

Jesus you're a little bit touchy! Nothing's been aimed at you and as for any negative comments about Muff since, well there's only been one and even then I'm sure he's on the wind-up

**** I've let the cat out the bag. Or have I, and do we all secretly just hate Muff which means that JB's and Moog's comments are the whole truth and nothing but the truth?

I wonder how many fans from other teams despise Watford because they base their opinions of us on how remarkably sarcastic the majority of people on this forum are...

I think he's saying we'll stay up! Where do you see yourselves finishing? Top half? Genuinely interested.

Well Newcastle did well, Townsend, Shelvey and Saivet clearly making a difference.

14th upwards. Top half would be luvverly and is certainly do-able.

Newcastle, the gift that keeps on giving. Seriously, just why? Townsend and Shelvey are both over-hyped stuck-up idiots who believe their own hype and Saivet just cba. How long will it be before they sack the chancer that is McLaren and somehow stay up to relegate Norwich/Swansea, as they do every flippin year?

I like Bournemoth but the only reason I want them to go down is because I want to see Watford play the biggest clubs in the premier league. I don't want to see Next season's fixture list with Bournemouth and Norwich instead of Newcastle and Villa.

I hope Eddie Howe gets offered a big job, as I think he's a great manager who would do well at someone like Everton, but it would be a travesty for all proper football fans to see two of the biggest clubs in the country relegated at the expense of, what is, in effect a leagneue one club with no history. I think I speak for all football fans when I say that I hope villa and Newcastle survive and that Bournmeouth go down with Swansea and Norwich.

    All in peace.

It never fails to amaze me how professional we all are at sarcasm. It has taken years of grafting for the likes of moog to make one post which triggers an entire thread on the Bournemouth forum being created in retaliation.

Top marks moogy, it never gets old.

I still think they'll stay up but it is funny, given that they've spent nearly 100m.

What grade did that twit Merson give them in his little transfer piece?

Funny game football - despite our bad run and Newcastle's supposed improvement we have actually gained points on them since the Liverpool game, and after the more pessimistic fans fearing we might not beat or even lose to them two weeks ago, they go on to capitulate at an Everton side who have been below us for much of the season.

It really looks like two between three now with one place already sewn up, but you never know. I would still not rule out Palace being the side that plunges from supposed safety, as they have a very tough set of fixtures ahead, with almost all of the teams they have to face having something to play for - six teams chasing the title or a place in Europe, four of them away and one of their home games against Leicester, and five teams below them fighting for their lives, four of them away (and you wouldn't rule out them losing to any of those after they lost at Villa and to Sunderland at home). And us and Stoke could give them a tough game as their home form is really poor.

I don't think they have a forum. Google suggested 'do you mean Brighton forum'

A whatsap group maybe would be enough for their fans.

What a lot of Bollix Moog! As if you really want that :rolleye1:

Out with the old so called Big Clubs unless they earn their corn and bring on the new order who deserve to be there!

Saw a couple of excellent descriptions of new signings in recent match reports. The Times said that Norwich's new right back Ivo Pinto had "spent the evening demonstrating roughly the same positional awareness as a lasagne" and the Telegraph said of Jonjo Shelvey "At his worst he resembles a poor man’s Yaya Touré. At his best he also resembles a poor man’s Yaya Touré".

Still, as long as they have Merson's ringing endorsement of the their transfer activity, I'm sure they'll be just fine!

Big weekend at the bottom. Villa V Norwich and Newcastle v WBA. Should Norwich and Newcastle lose those 2 then it really will be 3 from the current bottom 4. Said the other day that Villa are obviously down but they will win a couple of games and those games could well drag down the opposition. Norwich really need to go there and win. A defeat will really dent already fragile confidence there.
Newcastle signed Townsend (who we wanted and at the right price would have been ok) who hasnt played 90mins in 2 years! He was nowhere near the Spurs team and was on loan at QPR last year and didnt pull up any trees. Shelvey was allowed to leave a relegation rival which tells all you need to know about him. Panic buys. Pressure of 50k fans on Sat could well get to Newcastle. However they will sack McClown and bring in someone else who will in the end keep them up, only to repeat next season...

We should be aiming for Europa to be honest, we're a big team now and deserve it.

I agree with Moog as well, it pains me to think i'll have to look up and down the fixture list and see a little team like Bournemouth on there. Thankfully when Howe goes to a bigger team, you'll fade away and drop down the leagues to where you belong.

Say hi to L*ton for us

I think we'll finish probably top ten. Villa, Newcastle and one of Norwich and Bournemouth to go down. Sunderland were all over City the other night, Big Sam is slowly turning it around.

That's very prescient. I bumped into Eddie this morning whilst we both walking our dogs on the beach and he said exactly what you've posted; he thinks Boremuff are too tinpot for him and it's a travesty such a club are in the top-flight and he struggles to sleep because of his guilt at getting the club into the top flight. Also, as Tindall needs to get his tan topped up regularly, they will probably take the job in Spain when Neville gets the sack.

Luther Blisset is also wracked with guilt over only ever scoring four goals on his home debut for one club, he mentions it a lot when he's at Dean Court. Must be the sea air, brings on outpourings of honesty.
