    Correct.

So what if Pozzo was good in the past? Get him out now and maintain the status of the club. At the moment it’s a downward spiral that the happy clappers seem to be content with. It’s so bizarre.

There are a few good owners in football but a lot of dangerous ones.

I wonder if Elton would come back? Or Petchey? Or that Belgian bloke who wants rid of Charlton?

I'm fuming about the result today. Fuming about the transfer dealing and I'm probably still a bit hurt from the embarrassing cup final.

I'm tired of the Premier League, I'm tired of Kiko Femenia, I'm tired of watching someone buy Dominic Solanke for £20 million and Watford still pretending there's no value in HG players.

I'm tired that we kept getting told it's not worth investing in British players or defenders yet the likes of John Stones, Aaron Wan Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Jordan Pickford, Nathan Ake, Lewis Dunk, James Tarkowski, Tyrone Mings, Michael Keane, James Maddison etc etc. Are being found in lower leagues/academies and being sold on for multi millions and if not sold are now worth that. £35/40 million will buy you a Lewis ******* Dunk. I thought the Pozzo's would thrive in that, yet to see it. Quina & Chalobah the only possibilities of that even happening.

I'm annoyed that Richarlison is the only real profit churning gem we've seen in years. And even he wasn't that good, his fee was a victim of circumstance.

I want to see Penaranda, I want to see Joao Pedro, I want to see Quina, I want to see Chalobah and I want to see them sold on for £50/60 million. That was the dream.

HOWEVER, when they took over we had Chris Iwelumo, Joe Garner, Carl ****inson and wetting ourselves over the possibility of getting Adam Le Fondre. I never thought I'd see us reach an FA Cup final in my life time back in 2011/12. They gave us Zola, Vydra, Abdi, Fessi, Capoue, Gomes, GD, Ighalo etc etc. Players we never would've seen, so no I don't want them out I just want them to operate us in a different way to Udinese. I have full faith that Gino will because the riches here are far superior.

It will obviously always be remembered but sadly for the wrong reasons and I’m sure those Sunderland fans remember losing to us 8-0 but I very much doubt it bothers them now and probably didn’t by the end of that season.
I’ve been going to watch this club for forty years now and although it’s a rubbish day to be a fan there have been worse days.

I wouldn't bother responding with such a lengthy post Squibba, he’s not interested, has no alternative and will still claim that he can hear you clapping.

Hmm, I’ve considered this but I’d have thought they’d sell at our peak. Maybe sell if we stay up?

May be a bitter pill to swallow to get rid of them.

Though relegation will devastate the value of the club, that’s without considering the money owed still on transfers. The wage bill being spent on a poor group of cloggers is terrifying.

Though the majority will clap happily and suck merrily.

Isn't Baz still looking for a club? I'm sure he'll put us back on the straight and narrow.

Might not be a bad thing. If Granada hold on against Barcelona, they'll be top of La Liga.

Granada, free from the shackles of Pozzo, are beating Barca.

Just a few years after they left the club is flourishing.

Let’s all talk about Baz and the Charlton owner rather than the very many good, progressive, owners that are out there.

At the end of the day the mindlessly, embarrassingly positive, happy clappers on here are never going to break away from their delusions. It's not worth reasoning with them, even when we've lost 8-0 and are in a complete mess it's all OK and no one should dare question anything.

    Correct, they are beyond reproach.

Any post of criticism is met with the usual disdain, calls of Troll and sarcasm.

You can not reason with them - much like Brexiteers.

Scrutiny and questioning is healthy and should be encouraged to keep owners inline. With the clappers we are heading into the abyss with nothing, not even a whimper........well maybe a new badge and a league one defence.

All I hear are replies of “but but Baz”

    From Twitter.......

Remember when people claimed Pozzos made Granada & they'd never cope without them despite their fans buzzing they'd been sold.

Own all their players, don't sell their best after one good season, quick promotion back to La Liga, best ever start to a La Liga season, 2-0 up Vs Barca

They appear to have ruined more players careers than made them

Also who in their right mind buys Success, Sema, keeps Gomes in the squad etc etc.

I’m afraid Duxbury is ******* deluded when he says he wants the club to progress each season. The only thing progressing is the stadium. It’s like they are decorating their house before selling.

I can’t see us getting out of this mess this season and the owners will hoover up selling what players they can.Delefoue, Pereyra, Sarr, Doucoure, Capoue ,Pedro to name a fewwill never accept playing in the Championship. The owners will grap all this cash and away they will go.

  26. I think people are being a bit silly

The Pozzo's have done an awful lot for this club, we might be playing non league or even not exist but for them

They have done a great job off the pitch, it's player recruitment that's flawed

I put the problem squarely at the door of Giraldi, he's the muppet who manages the team of scouts and analysts identifying players

I refuse to believe it was not possible to identify 2 affordable CBs that would have improved the team

Agreed. But Pozzo keeps Giraldi in place as manager after manager is fired. Therefore Pozzo is incompetent or compromised by his relationship with Giraldi.

Lets see where Granada end up before proclaiming them as so much better now without the Pozzos.

Many a promoted sides have started well before dropping.

Not that it should excuse the lack of quality signings made although when we do sign a 30 million winger he doesn't seem to be played - is that down to the medical team and manager?

And the scouting appears to be pretty ropey - too many injury prone or lacking in form players.

Off the pitch the Pozzos have done very well but of course that can change if we get relegated - the VIPs aren't so keen to fill their executive boxes and bars.

Its the old age question of could you done someone in who is better...bit like when you change managers.

We may, but other teams won't. I looked through the list of the other 8.0s and shrugged my shoulders, hardly registered. I remember the 9.0 Man U got against Ipswich however thankfully we haven't eclipsed that. Yet.

Granada being top is like using Bournemouth as an example because they were 3rd last night.

There’s so many games in hand.

We won our first four and we’re 4th last season too lol.

Sunderland fans may not care about it much now. But they are now in League 1.
I’m beginning to think some fans will just excuse anything now in their quest to seek ‘oh-so-level-headed’.

Ruthless? He’s dished out inordinately long contracts for bang average (or worse) defenders time and time again, and continues the employment of a head of recruitment who is simply incapable of buying quality First XI PL defenders. Window after window he’s proved that.

Make our feelings known sensibly? How? Should we all write letters that won’t even get beyond the club secretary? The only way we can so is the ‘At Your Place’ events and the concerns were brought up by fans at the last one in February - we were fobbed off then by Giraldi and Duxbury being told they knew it was an area of weakness and would be addressed in the summer. We bought Craig Dawson.

I really don’t buy into the theme of the thread - I don’t want Gino out. But Giraldi’s head must roll. Today isn’t ‘just one of those days’ as some on here are saying. Action needs to be taken by those in power to show the fans that it’s not acceptable.

Watford fans are generally an accepting bunch. Too much so at times for my liking. And I think the owner and chairman have done the fans a disservice this summer by investing in the wrong areas knowing that we are generally a fan base that don’t show dissent vocally. Gives them the impression that we are happy with the defenders the club are serving up. The fans won’t turn on them at games and the owners know it.

Say that the Pozzos go. Who are our next owners? Can someone give me a better case scenario to entice me to the Pozzo out side? Please don't give the previous example of Granada winning 2-0 as an example of sustained long term success.

And to those saying it’s ‘just one of those days’ or passing it off as a freak result. Ignoring the fact that Man City do it to us EVERY TIME, I would actually have a bit of sympathy for that viewpoint. I can’t accept 8-0 but could if we’d collapsed at the end and let in a flurry of goals - but 5-0 after 18 minutes is deeply worrying. That’s the type of moment and stat that could prove terminal to confidence over a season.
