In all fairness, he started his career like was going to be and if if he had made some better choices, he would be playing Premier League football now.

I'd go back in for Andy King.

Not exactly glamorous, but a cheap Ben Watson rotation option.

I'd try and prise Sigardson away from Swansea!

He'll go to a more glamorous club than us sadly, very highly rated.

Given how much the Pozzos like free transfers, Ben arfa and Feghouli are both out of contract in the summer. They're quite big names and lots of clubs would be looking at them but you never know.
Also, this may sound stupid but how about trying to get Ashley Young back? A summer clear-out at united looks likely and we could do with a winger.

True - we are desperately short of defensive midfielders.

  8. miked2006

As Quique thinks that defensive midfielders are natural wingers, we need twice as many.

I'd love him, but a bigger club would probably snap him up, who can afford larger wages.

Not a suggestion per se, rather a query.

What on earth is Will Hughes up to? I swear I haven't heard his name for about two years.

Blackburn's Ben Marshall might be worth a shout in the Summer, a home-grown winger!

Considering both Ben Arfa and Feghouli have had a fair few disciplinary problems (Feghoulis this week), they'd be a bit of a gamble.

Oh don't get me wrong, both are ridiculously talented and i'd personally take the gamble on one of them. But whether the Pozzos would or not is another matter.

Jonathan Kodjia, has been scoring for fun at Bristol City, he has 20 goals so far this season and won player of the season for the French 2nd division a couple of years ago. I wonder if he might be ready to make the step up to the PL?

Might be worth a cheeky punt in the Summer?

  26. lowerrous

    lowerrous First Team

It's always difficult to tell with Championship strikers if they will make the step up - I've never seen him before, so roughly what level would you compare him to using a benchmark of other recently successful Championship scorers that have now played in the Prem, e.g. Ighalo, Afobe, Gestede, Ings?

I see he's 26, so he'd need to be ready to step now-ish.

    For RB Trippier from Spurs
    For LB Brady from Norwich
CB Lascelles is Newcastle go down and also Townsend
    Sarabia for creativity
    Maybe Remy to replace Ighalo

  28. wfcSinatra

    wfcSinatra Predictor Choker 14/15

Remy's had offers from China but is very settled where he is (happy doing naff all for Chelsea money) so don't think he'd take the drop in wages to come to us.

    Trippier also won't leave.

Other 3 are good shouts though!

  29. lowerrous

    lowerrous First Team

Trippier - not a crazy shout. Good player but is behind Walker in the pecking order and maybe would rather be first choice at a mid-table club (e.g. us).
Brady is a LW, not LB, no?
If Newcastle go down I suspect that Lascelles would be one of the few players they would keep - he's young, probably not on the highest wages, English and with Championship experience.
Townsend, yes - but I suspect he'd go to a bigger club than us now if he left.
Sarabia - don't really know him.
Remy is probably passed his best and too expensive.

Maksimovic from Torino, Widmer from Udinese and Paredes from Roma.

Doesn't he play for Empoli? Can't be much worse than the Paredes we have already...

Potentially very ambitious but Arbeloa is leaving Real Madrid on a free transfer.

Could be our PL version of Cassetti.

33 so could at least get a decent season out of him, and RB is somewhere we desperately need to improve on.

Bit of a long shot though

Jose Enrique has just been released by Liverpool. Maybe if he's willing to take a cut on his 65k salary he would be worth a shout for the left back spot?

Anyone fancy a punt on Mitrovic. Cannot see him staying at Newcastle and wonder whether a cut price punt would be worth it.

Poor at Newcastle but has a good CV

    'Linked' to Boro now.

Obviously they have Karanka but if they are going for him I think we could do worse than trying to get him.

In my eyes we need two new RBs
