I'd go for Defoe, he will score PL goals for at least two more seasons and possibly longer, by then some of our promising young talent should have made the step up to replace him.
Lucas Vasquez Lucas Vasquez from Real Madrid? Watching him play for them now and looks like he could provide us with some flair on the wings. And he can actually cross a ball too.
Some serious suggestions: Pavel Kaderabek - 23 year old right back/winger. Watched him play at the U21 Euros last year and he was one of my players of the tournament, whenever he surged forward it always looked like something would happen and he scored a great goal from what I remember. After 2 or 3 games at the Euros Hoffenheim pounced and snapped him up for €3.5m. However Hoffenheim have been struggling this season and could see themselves get relegated. Would love for us to take a punt on him if they go down and need a fire-sale. Vincent Janssen - 21 year old striker. If we go for him I doubt we'll be alone, currently playing for AZ in Holland where he's top scorer in the Eredivisie (with 20 goals), averaging a goal every 110 minutes on the pitch and has 3 in the Europa League this season. He's been in "the system" for a while, playing for the Dutch U15, U16, U18, U20 and U21 (where he scored 8 in 10 apps for the U21s) teams, and got his first senior cap against France the other day and stands a chance of starting for Holland against us tomorrow. As you'd expect for a Dutch striker, he's very technically proficient, is good in the air (6ft as well) and no slouch in the pace department, and often looks to make runs behind the defence (think Matty). Won't be cheap but probably a better punt from AZ than Berghuis is.
Good call on both. I has completely forgotten about Kaderabek. He did have an excellent tournament. Only saw Janssen twice but agree has got something about him. Maybe a swap with Birdhouse.
Id like us to get Iorfa of Wolves, I thought he was impressive for the u21's the other night, Kortney Hause as well in a double swoop would be good. I'm hopeful about getting Chalobah as well if possible although apparently Napoli want to sign him permanently, I'm sure he impressed Gino during his loan spell with us, perhaps a double swoop with Ake but that seems unlikely if the rumours of a few teams after him are true.
Interesting as he has only played 8 times this season for them. I understand he has had a few difficult moments with the death of his mother so perhaps he will want to move back closer to home to be near family.
People need to get over this. If Chalobah was any good, he'd still be here. He doesn't fit in with our plans, which was why he was released back to Chelsea and by all accounts, he had an attitude problem.
Other than Gifton I don't remember being as impressed with a 17 year old playing for us virtually every game, I didn't know he had an attitude problem, perhaps that's why Gino didn't try and get him although us being still a Championship club was maybe a factor.
Albert Rusnak according to the ever reliable Sun. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...ert-Rusnak-who-starred-for-Slovakia-U21s.html
Kieran Tierney from Celtic? 18 year old left back but been a regular in their team and now in the Scotland squad. I'm sure their supposed interest in Anya could make something work. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35945170
Controversial one, but I'd take Jack Grealish next season. Can't imagine he'd be more than £4mil-ish given they probably need to significant cut costs, he's a talented player and he was one of few who actually looked like they gave a sh*t v Chelsea today. Probably more controversially, Ciaran Clark as a fourth centreback. Britos, Cathcart, Prodl and Clark would be a good set of defenders. Finally, Gueye has looked much better than the rest of their team. I'm sure I saw somewhere that he has the second best stats of any defensive midfielder in the PL, behind only Kante. Seems a bit backwards to be looking at players from one of the worst teams in PL history, but I think those three could add to our squad and Grealish and Clark are, of course, homegrown.
Standard Football Manager procedure. See who gets relegated, poach their best players for cheap, when Everton got relegated first season on my save I had a field day.
If we're gonna poach some players from Villa I wouldn't mind Adama Traore. Young and talented player who we could definitely get for a good price.
I think Clark is crap but the rest I agree with. They spent big on Gueye so might try and get as much back as they can. Also don't get everyone's obsession with Traore. He wasn't even starting for Villa when he got injured. Looked good against us but thats about it. Would take Amavi too
West Ham have decided against making Victor Moses' loan move permanent. Would be worth a punt, better than Montero and Townsend in my eyes. They've also decided not to buy Song and Emenike
Hardly a surprise about Song and Emenike, Nordveit who they've apparently got coming in is in my eyes better than Song. And Emenike is absolute pony. One best saved for FIFA.
Seems all the FIFA 'beasts' are crap in real life. Doumbia, Ibarbo, Emenike, Lacina Traore... In saying that Emenike looked really good in the only game I've seen him play.. unfortunately that was against Blackburn who are awful. Thought he would do better though
