When the Pozzos first arrived, the manager had a goatie. Then for a while the manager didn't have a goatie. Now the manager has a goatie again.

    The circle is complete.

It's quite possible the Pozzos asked Beppe to stay on after he submitted his resignation until they could find a replacement.

For most of us, we give two weeks notice. It's hardly impossible something similar could have happened with him. That would mean that discussions could have happened with Garcia before Beppe left, but after he had submitted his resignation. Bearing in mind a number of people noted a defined difference in Beppe's touchline body language post Rotherham I suspect that is exactly what happened. Garcia didn't resign from Tel Aviv until about a week after the Rotherham game.

I'm not sure he's just a boring grumpy person, looks to me like he just has the male equivalent of "resting b*tch face".

Owen Coyle was on the shortlist? We should be thankful to Garcia that he took the job!

We have the best squad in the division.
We have the ability to play the best football.
We have the best strikers, and the best midfielders.

We should be going up as champions!! End of.

They had a couple of Fans Forums when Zola was here.

Would have been difficult with Sannino!

One thing that concerns me is that O G has been brought up with The Barca playing philosophy, but surely just like the Spanish national team, that style has had it's day :frown:

Either us or Leeds tapped him up for sure ... Dirty tactics and therefore I am perfectly happy to blame Leeds.

Despite all the 'lost dressing room' talk, Saninno really had no chance of staying once Garcia became available.

I think we'll see elements rather than the whole shebang

  15. I've always seen it more that what Barca achieved was a specific way of playing that suited specific players at a specific moment in time. The Dutch played their version of total football in the 70's, the Argies played their version of total football in the 80's, and someone will take over from Barca with a new flavour of possession and movement football.

I'm sure OG will find a possession and movement system that fits the players we have, particularly as he has some highly skilled technical players to work with.

The bottom line here for me is the WFC PR team should've prepped him with a canned reply for this inevitable question.

If this was their advised reply, then it's been poorly judged - because it's immediately cast Garcia in a not-so positive light.

If OG was just left unprepared and thought on his feet that this was the best reply, again, poor job from the PR team putting him in that situation.

Yup ... the club probably said too much and I hope it's quickly forgotten about ... Frank Smith wins no friends by highlighting it but I guess he supports Arsenal or Spurs so why wouldn't he?

Beppe has known for some time that he was going. Oscar knew that Beppe knew he was going. The key word is "departed" and we don't know what word was used when Oscar was interviewed. He could have been asked, "did Watford talk to you whilst Sannino still had the job?" If Sannino was on notice then it is perfectly reasonable to answer that with, "No."

The Echo is the reason I have supported WFC for 45 years. I picked up interest through the back pages in the 68/69 season. Fortunately St Albans was in the Echo's circulation area not the Post's.

We'll play better football under Garcia. We were too reactive under Sannino. However we need to remain solid & retain our counter attacking threat in the right situations, because we're very good at it.

OG has as good as said he'll not take our weapons away but instead he'll let us evolve slowly to his own brand of attacking football.

Getting increasingly irritated with all the sniping at Frank Smith. In my opinion he's played a blinder. The guy correctly reported that Sannino's future was in serious doubt and now he points up a clear contradiction about the timing of the club's approach to Garcia. Frank's job is to report what he hears, not to supress the truth or sugar-coat it to make it more palatable for supporters. Leave the cheer-leading to the club's PR department, not the Observer. Too many people on this site are shooting the messenger instead of listening to the message.

Garcia left Israel for a reason ... IMO that was either us or Leeds but Cellino certainly hasn't been kicking up the stink I would have expected if he was in there first.
Many of us never considered Sannino as anything more than a temporary solution and though he's steadied the ship this season's start is only a bonus. All this lost dressing room stuff is overrated.

So please don't take his beavers away.

Can't argue with that but I didn't appreciate my post being removed from one of his articles ... there was no good reason, it just pre-empted the situation we have now.
