These days I won't even snog anyone lower down the glamour scale than Angelina or Jennifer. That's how we roll at the Vic now if you are a Leeds supporter visiting this forum.

Interesting point. What was his preferred formation at Brighton? And did he use wingers?

I hope Garcia sticks with 352: we're actually very good at it now, and it suits having Deeney and Vydra up top as a pair.

3-5-2 is our formation now, and we're actually quite good at it.

Quite happy to see a much more possesion based game as we now have the quality to play it, although only when necessary.

Someone above posted most of our goals have been about quick breaks and good through balls. I can still see this being the case but I imagine he'll be getting the team to try and draw the opposition in with passing it at the back and hitting them as soon as they lose shape.

Will be interesting, although according to some anyone could manage this team and win.

He'll most likely stick with it for now I imagine but expect subtle changes, especially with the tempo and yes it will look disjointed at first. Come January he'll will look to fill in any holes.

In the end, this is a good choice, happy with it, speaks English and knows the league. As said yesterday by someone, ticks all the right boxes.

The only real things against him was his style of play at Brighton being a bit defensive (this was due to the players available more than anything) and then hit and hope but we have the players to fit that if needed in tough games like they did at Rotherham. There is also the shroud of quitting before a year is up each time, hopefully he has the balls to see the job through to promotion, otherwise he will be off again in May I feel. Promotion is a must now otherwise Deeney, Vydra, Angella and Fessi will be certain to leave.

Just to clarify..... Is this the same "Mighty Leeds" that lost to Tinpot Watford 3-0 in the playoffs?

Nah, must be a different Leeds right?

This keeps getting mentioned but to be fair to him he quit the last one because of the conflict, which I'd say is a perfectly valid reason to quit a job!

No, it's the tinpot Leeds who had nothing to play for, when we had everything to play for, yet still stopped us going up because our players weren't up for it.

On his preferred formation, If he can integrate the whingers into the team he'll have done well. Beppe had a problem with the whingers and didn't deal with them well.

Anyone else think that it is a bit suspicious that he resigned from Maccabi on 26th August and then is with us a week later? Was this appointment planned before Sannino's "resignation" I wonder?

Anyway, potentially excellent appointment and we pi55ed of the weeds in the process.....what's not to like?

No, it was all sorted out before Garcia left Maccabi. Sannino was just working out his notice period. #ITK

Probably longer than that. I think he probably got Hamas to start a conflict in Israel just so he could get this job.

I'm not worried about Brighton fans calling him boring, because I'm not one to judge a man by his hairstyle and dress sense. He was limited with playing options at that club anyway, yet managed to get them into the play offs against the odds. If Brighton's fans have said anything that we should take notice of, it's that many of them feel that was a fluke. Over the course of a season, you don't 'fluke' a high finish in the Championship. You achieve that by doing something right.

He's taking over a very good team, who are on course to achieving something this season. A lot of good preparation work has been done for him, and all he's got to do is keep steering it in the direction it's already going. If he's got radically different ideas than Sannino, then he's now got a fortnight to make any changes to the system, but I hope he goes for continuity.

My only worries are his record of resigning from his jobs, and his laid back persona. I think some of our squad need someone prepared to kick them up the arse and gee them up.

Well, there was the Leeds City FC which was thrown out of the League and dissolved in 1919 due to financial irregularities. You may have been thinking of them. They were massive too, in their day.

Allegedly Sannino sacked because he was going to win MOTM for August. Pozzos didn't want us to suffer the "MOTM curse" so got rid.

Got a couple of friends who support Maccabi Tel Aviv, both say that this talk of 'boring' or 'negative' football is utter nonsense, was known in Israel for his fast flowing attacking philosophy. Brighton had a really **** side, made no easier by the fact their fans feel they have some divine right to be in the Premiership, they didn't like Gus, didn't like Garcia and probably won't like Sami when he takes them down as they gradually get worse every year.
