Really like the way he comes across. Very refreshing. For some reason reminds me of the honest way in which the young GT used to talk. Maybe it's the northern accent.

I think we as fans should believe in ourselves more. We always put ourselves down and think that we are a sh1t home support, but I don't see it that way. When we're on it, we're really on it. It's very loud.

The vibe at Vicarage Road is usually positive. We've not won for 12 games, hardly scored a goal, yet the team is always applauded off the pitch.....well the vast majority of the time. I think the Watford support is actually excellent, even in adversity. The fans really care but are super tolerant. That is rare believe me.

I wasn't happy about this appointment. But he's saying the right things, and seems a good bloke. Getting behind him - Come on Nige!

Like many others I was surprised when his name was being circulated. But, think this is just what we have needed. It is so refreshing to hear someone speak clearly and directly, without platitudes and bland waffle. It is also refreshing to hear someone who has a really good understanding of fans and football clubs and gets this over in an interview in a realistic manner. I think some of our less committed players will soon be on their bikes ...

Yup. Even if people aren't clapping the players off after a defeat, there's about two second of booing and then everyone shuffles out. It's rarely a toxic atmosphere - although that was just starting to creep in the last couple home games I noticed.

As good at timekeeping as he is at free kicks.

    Never hated a player more.

Remember, Pearson's interest at Leicester managed to get Deeney a huge new contract here. Best mates.

    Foster

    Kiko (assuming Janmaat isn’t fit)
    Kabasele
    Cathcart
    Masina

    Capoue
    Doucoure

    Success
    Quina
    Sarr

    Deeney

I’d throw Success onto the left side of our front 3/4, simply because I believe his physical strength and directness might be able to cause them problems on the break, and give us a chance to hold the ball up a bit more.

I’d play Quina as the 10, because he’s decent on the ball when under pressure, and because he’s got loads of energy to help us close them down and plug the gaps they like to play through.

Capoue would sit in front of the back 4 the entire game and try to clog the space in the middle that Firmino likes to play in. Doucoure, as crap as he’s been, would play with a bit more freedom to press with Quina when possible, and help us break.

Deeney isn’t very good, but he’s probably the best option we have up front, unless you play Success up top. Sadly, that would mean another 75 minutes of extreme disappointment from Geri and I’m just not prepared to sanction that.

Our main plan is to get the ball to Sarr, and then have him foray alone, in the hope that he can win us a free kick near their box, or a corner. We’ll implement the reids plan and sucker punch them.

really good idea to turn up late when it's your new managers first day!

There can be genuine reasons for turning up late on whatever day. I wouldn't recommend him making a habit of it though unless he genuinely wants away next month. In which case it might not be such a bad idea.

Giving him the captaincy I hope. After Kabasele's look back and comment of 'bit*h' when he put Princess Wilf into the advertising boarding last Saturday, he's my favourite player.

On the commentary they said that near the end Chalobah was calming Zaha down. Disappointing if true as angry Zaha is pure entertainment, and he was on a yellow.

On video you see him arrive with others so not late to the training ground. Maybe just slow going for a late piss before going on the pitch. Looked light hearted to me.

I saw him leading him away but this was after the whistle. There were a couple of minutes of handbags after the final whistle.

Looking at RP's attitude turning up to training in his effin super mario pyjamas, arrogance & smirking at the camera as though he's gods gift. Typifies this absolute mercenary. He is a major part of the problem. We need fighters now.

Nigel will soon kick him out if he doesn't start to deliver el pronto. Going back to basics son.

Doesn't Pearson favour a 4-4-2? If so, agree with your line up, but would probably put Gray/A cone (same effect) with Troy up top.

AL in The Athletic said that he favors 4-2-3-1, as we’ve been playing under Mullins.

Perfect formation for the players we have. No more 3 at the back nonsense. Or Gray.

Got to admire the workman-like of Pearson even from such a small clip. Smiling faces and pats on the back for doing basics.
Builds confidence in a side devoid of such an aspect so far this season. Hughes looks like a young Santa Clause. Lol at
Preyera. Sarcastic clapping. Sort of dagger eyes afterwards saying "late again and it will be late with wages...."

Seen a few photos of training where Giraldi is still skulking about.
If the Pearson thing works out, I really hope he holds us to ransom in the summer saying he’ll sign an extended deal if Walsh replaces Giraldi - honestly not sure I’ve ever hated a Watford employee more.

As for Pearson, I made my thoughts on his managerial ability clear. BUT I will admit that I like the noises coming from him and he may be just what we need. But let’s not pretend we have a load of battlers who have Just been temporarily shying away from the fight. He’s going to have to seriously transform the attitude of some players as we don’t have a squad deep enough to just jettison players on a whim. Deulofeu and Pereyra can’t just be sidelined - a big part of all this will be Pearson getting them onside with his ways.

The biggest highlight for me will be having a manager who says it how it is publicly. Previous managers have been far far too nice and accommodating in the media. That needs to stop.
