Niang has that flair that can really spark a game into life and the type of player I love to watch hope we sign him as I want to see Niang, Zarate and Pereyra playing together would be nice to watch

He also drifts in and out of games and is inconsistent.

You have to pay upwards of £30million for a good attacking player that isn't

At games this season he has been very exciting, a player that can excite yet frustrate you reminds me of forestieri can be absolute class then fade! I have no issues with this as long as we've got other options as well which we will next season if we keep burghuis and perraya and zarate i would be over the moon to get a player of Niangs ability on a permanent gives us great strength and depth and will attract bigger players, just need a decent coach now

If Niang wasn't **** and lazy he'd be too good for us. We are at a level where we have to be delighted to sign players who show a glimmer of attacking intent for a 20 minute burst, 1 game in 10. That's all 13m gets you these days.

Jesus Christ you have high expectations for players. If he was flawless he wouldn't play for us. On his day a fantastic footballer and should definitely look to sign him. If we're signing players of the calibre and reputation like him, it would show we mean business and could be a great for enticing other players

I think if we played football that got him the ball in dangerous areas, then he'd be fine.

Currently, he gets the ball in his own half, has no one ahead of him, and ends up just running down the wing a few times. After a few failed attempts he ends up getting tired and frustrated, and that's game over.

True, but whoever manages us next season needs to be able to get him more involved.

Id be in two minds about signing Niang.

Only 2 goals and 2 assists in half a season and becoming increasingly ineffective each game.

Agree with all the negative comments about him but at the end of the day, if he was consistently good, he wouldn't be good. His attitude is a bit poor though and that needs changing. I'd take him if I had faith that we could develop him like Howe has done with King, but I'm not sure we can...

Playing him upfront is not where he should be playing. Should be playing wide where he's had his best games for us. Delivers a great goal and this is probably our main weakness going forward, nobody to get on the end of the crosses. We don't have enough movement in the box. We need players making runs like Okaka did against Everton I think it was where Amrabat whipped in a near post cross and Okaka gambled and scored. Not something we do enough of

If Niang only plays well against sides in bottom 12 and is the difference then that is great, he is an asset to the team - doesn't matter if he is crap against the top 7 or 8 as they are currently not the teams we are competing against but if he terrorises teams in and around us an makes a difference then we should sign him - 100% Agree with some other comments - he is far better and more effective cutting in from the wing, we need to give him the ball in the right areas of the pitch and give it too him early, we need more movement upfront ... we need more movement everywhere to be honest. He does need coaching though and I am not convinced we will do that - As for his attitude... well if he delivers the goods after a proper pre season with us then fine he can strop a bit when gets frustrated and we are safely in mid table on 50 points

In my opinion with the exception of Pereyra Niang is by far the most technically gifted player at the club. I think most would agree that against the teams at the bottom of the table he has been a big difference, particularly against Sunderland at home, he ran the ragged. I personally think that the reason he shines more against teams in the lower half is because we are able to go forward more often and he is certainly a far better player in attacking areas. For 13 million he would be an excellent signing for us and I would be very disappointed if he did not sign.

I get the feeling he'll only be staying of Gino & Co can negotiate a lower fee than the one previously agreed, given his disappointing levels of consistency. Some reports suggest this is the case.

I think it would not be bad business to take up our option on him, as don't think we would lose money selling him on if he does work out for us, but if he does rise to his obvious potential we could have a possible "Worldy Player" on our hands.

If we can get him for under £10million buy him.

This all assumed he wants to stay permanently and no alternative options come his way. If he was more consistent then I doubt we would be in a position to sign him. Bigger clubs would sign him

£8-10m very tops, and that's hoping we profit on re-selling him when he turns up against bigger teams. I know the team has been massively inconsistent this season but somehow I think he's managed to be more inconsistent than the team overall!

If we can get him for a lower fee then happy days but if worst comes to worst pay the full fee and get him in before Pre Season starts.

  22. Inconsistent or not I'd still have him in the side ahead of Amrobat

Hope not. I think he's got the type of obvious quality we should be aiming for throughout the team.

This has been his first season in the English Prem. He's kept his head down, not got in any trouble (belying his past reputation) and has produced some cracking goals and assists.

I'd love to see him get a second, more accustomed and bedded-in, season for us. I could see him being coveted by the big clubs by next January window...

Can't blame him. Even a nutter like Niang would think twice about joining this mess. "We've just offed our 7th manager in five years, wanna stick around?"

Surely we should wait to appoint a manager before making any more signings. At least hear how the next manager wants to set us up - this is where we got it wrong last summer.
