Di Marzio saying that we are in pole position to sign M'Baye Niang from Milan, loan with a potential 16 million euro fee. Never heard of him but apparently he's a 22 year old French attacker/winger of some description.

Edit: Looks like he's born two weeks too late to be classed as an u21 for this season so if this actually happened, we'd have to boot another non-HG out of the squad.

  11. Bit of a ****:

Feb 24, 2014 16:54:00The forward has also received a €700 fine and seen his driving licence revoked for three years after an accident at the beginning of February

AC Milan loanee M'baye Niang has been handed an 18-month suspended prison sentence following a car accident earlier this month.

The forward, currently on loan at Montpellier, was taken into custody after crashing his Ferrari while under a suspension from driving, although the 19-year-old denied he was at the wheel of the vehicle.

Witnesses claimed Niang struck several other cars after losing control of his own before he fled the scene, and he risked a prison sentence of up to five years and a heavy fine had he been found guilty of serious driving offences.

However, a judge at the criminal court in Montpellier instead handed him an 18-month suspended custodial sentence and a fine of €700 - €500 for failing to control his vehicle, €100 for speeding and a further €100 for failing to stop at a red light - as well as a ban from driving for three years and 170 hours of community service.

The prosecutor had initially asked for Niang to be given community service and the annulment of his driving licence, rather than a prison term.

"At the time, I was overcome with panic. I'm sorry, it was completely stupid," Niang was quoted as saying by Maxifoot prior to the criminal proceedings.

Niang, who has made 10 appearances for Montpellier since completing his loan move from the Rossoneri, was warned by club president Louis Nicollin over his off-the-pitch conduct in future following the incident.

    and Feb 2016:

Milan have released a statement confirming M’Baye Niang suffered an ankle injury in a car crash. It emerged this morning that the forward had been involved in a car crash over the weekend, though it was made clear he was not under the influence of alcohol.
Now the Rossoneri have released an official statement on the incident, confirming that the Frenchman has suffered two injuries.
“AC Milan communicates that M’Baye Niang has suffered an injury to the capsular ligament in his left ankle, as well as bruising to his left shoulder following a car accident,” the statement on the Diavolo’s website read.
“The treatment plan will be decided upon in the coming days.”

    and June 2016:

An £11 million French football star who just returned to action after a three-month injury lay-off has come under fire from social media users after he uploaded a video showing him 'Balconing'.
This often fatal activity which has been in the news over recent years due to its popularity with Britons abroad, involves a person jumping from a balcony into a pool.
And French player and AC Milan forward M'Baye Niang, 21, is the most recent to join in and got friends to film him as he jumped from the roof of his house into the pool.

Could be a very interesting signing, though we might want to arrange for a chauffeur as well as history of car crashes and getting nicked in cars isn't great.

At the very least could fill the Sean Murray off the rails role we've been desperately short of this season.

I also heard that he's currently suspended for three games, and we're waiting for him to serve that suspension at Milan before signing him. The suspension ends on 5th Feb.

  33. Meh!

    Meh! Pre-Dictator

We hear rumours, we make suggestions, we are linked with every player West Ham, Palace and West Brom are, and we sign someone totally out of the blue.

    Standard.

Not even getting a game for Milan so spent most of the time on the bench: "the arrival of new boss Vincenzo Montella in the summer has seen the French Under-21 international mainly consigned to the substitutes bench after the coach explained that he had to “do more on the field” if he wanted to earn a regular starting berth."

    Hmmmm.........

I wait to be surprised with this one.
