I went to the league Cup match where Spring scored for them and we lost 2-1. Awful game, we gave them the whole of the Vicarage Road End and loads more turned up in town. I got so much abuse on the way home I had to take off my Watford shirt and travel back on the train bare chested.

It's a team who were in the Conference not that long ago. To be honest, I didn't realise they were even in the Championship. They are largely insignificant now. But they need us and that's the way it's always been.

We are the big fish and they are desperate for a bit of attention. Thankfully this will only be a one-off event and we'll be a couple of divisions apart again next year......when they go down and we go back to our rightful place.

4th March 1972. The most dire 0-0 ever at the Kenhole. Even for a 10 year old.

Walking back after the game several evil dark shapes materialised out of the shadows and I realised I was seeing my first real life scummers. A shocking experience. Well they snatched my scarf off my neck and ran off jibbering and hooting to swing on their tyres or whatever.

It was a nice scarf too. The old yellow and black bar ones, with the name of a watford player stylishly written with marker pen on each bar.

For me there can be no peace until it is returned to me.

I missed that one as I was away, went to most around that time though, usually when we lost. People I was with probably think I am the most cheerful person they have ever met!

Been to a few, because we had tickets in their home stand (first game of the season 93/94) my 12 year old son was presented with a “ Welcome to Luton “ and a free scarf by one of their marketing girls, he took it off in disgust and said “ Dad, I don’t want this” under my jacket it went! We had Barry Ashby and Jason Drysdale both sent off, with Simon Shepherd in goal, lost 2-1, boy they were the days!

Not seen us beat them at home and been to a few since the mid 90s.

I suppose will just have to rely on the TV and sofa this time.

I remember a couple of last minute equalisers against them and a dire record against them on the TV.

But we really rubbed them up the wrong way winning 2-1 at the Kennel last time.

My first Derby was a 1-0 victory at Vicarage Road in 1968/69, Roy Low scored after about 3 minutes. My Dad went to both the abandoned and completed games at The Kennel the same season - lots of crowd trouble there that year.

My first Derby at their hovel was 1970/71 - we lost.

Been to plenty since then and there was always an under current of trouble.

I voted No because I’ve attended a few both home and away.

Fortunate enough to be there for the 4=0. Great day and loads of fun but I was pretty scared on the walk back to the station. Vile people spitting from buses. There seemed to be loads of small back streets on the way to the station that were perfect for an ambush. I was in a small column of Horns led by two police persons who you could see were also very nervous. They stopped the column at each junction and one police person went ahead to peer around the corner to check it was safe. There were sounds of fighting and dogs barking all around on other side streets. I’m not remotely tough and was about 15 so was very relieved to get on the train away from Scumland.

    Many.
    Far too many.
Some great, the 2-0 when David Evans gave me tickets when away fans banned.
    Some sublime,the 5-2,the 4-0.
    Some horrid,stones,rocks,car park chases.
    Hideous but compelling.

I’ve never been to a Luton game, but I went to a Bournem*uth game and survived to tell the tale. Proper scary though.

I was also once dragged to Luton Airport, as my mates were too cheap to go anywhere else. It was the worst experience of my life. I think I still have PTSD from the experience. What an utter ****hole.

I can only imagine what a place called “The Kennel” is like.

I saw us lose 0-1 twice in 1980 at Dog Kennel. Malcolm Poskett had a goal disallowed only to be
given a free kick at one of those games.

I was at the game where the song started " when Wilf goes up to lift the fa cup we'll be there "
but had changed to "when Les goes up to win the fa cup we'll be there" by the end .

I was at both of them.

Poskett scored and that short arse referee Alan Seville decided to disallow the goal and give us a free kick instead.

Also that poser, Roger Milford, sending Wilf off - shocking decision.

That was a good day. First game of new year I think. Malky bundling the ball in and I think Ashley Young was sent off.

Dunno, the numbers hold up pretty well to a guesstimate I made at the time of the conversation with the Whammers: 14 years ago so about a third of our fanbase...

After one game at the kennel, 2 of our group were bickering over seating positions for the car ride home. About 200 Luton fans came round the corner. We all jumped in the car sharpish and scarpered
It was quite a surreal sight and I'm sure theydve realised we were Watford fans from our obvious lack of inbreeeing. They didnt look too friendly, I dont think it wouldve been pretty!

To be fair it’s not often an opposition manager praises Watford after they get beaten by us. Whether they manager the scummers or Liverpool. Losing to Watford is a national disgrace.

And it was the Boothrod era.

I don't think opposition manager or fans had anything good to say about our style.

I remember going to Ipswich and winning 2-1 in the Hull play off season and well they certainly weren't happy after the game.

And I mean older more "mature" vented their anger as we walked back to the car.

Mind you Nathan Ellington did score ...
