I had to endure the, ENDLESS, "Enjoy Wycombe away..." type 'gags' from a couple of Whammers. I pointed out that it would be interesting as it will be our first derby matches in 14 years and that a generation of our supporters have grown up never having experienced one.

I'm interested in the number on here who are 'virgins'.

My last one was in 1987 (21/04) due to going to university. 2-0 Barnes and, Barnes' "replacement", Sterling were the scorers.

    Poll closes on 25/09/20.

I asumed that "yes" meant you had been to a derby? if not I've voted wrongly

    NEVER. It clearly states NEVER.

Not sure you should be pointing out grammar here! As the answers you’ve listed don’t technically make sense to the question...

If you walked into a room and said ‘who’s never seen us play L*ton?’ And people said ‘no’...?

Surely it should be ‘I have’ or ‘I haven’t’?

About time someone took control round here...

So, I think I’m doing it right by saying ‘no’ because I have been to derbies?

with the home game our 3rd match dose not look like we will get to be there dor the home Game

So just to clarify, what do I tick if I have been to one?

I ticked yes. I have been to one Derby.

I think you're supposed to tick "no", I've been to few but ticked "yes" which it would appear is wrong

I've been twice. The 93/94 season opener when we had two sent off, and near the end of 95/96 where we drew 0-0 and both ended up getting relegated. The atmosphere of the second one was very deflated on all sides of the ground that day.

I've never been to Dean Court though.

I have never been! And am actually very excited to see us play Luton and Wycombe. I'm 28 and my first game was Stockport County at home in 2001(ish)

Danny Webber and Heidur Helguson giving Division 1 defenders nightmares!

I remember in the 80's being stuck on their crappy terrace behind the goal with Scummers attacking us from the pitch while others lobbed rocks over the wall at us from outside. On other occasions being chased round Berry Park and fumbling with car keys before escaping. Also recall a particularly impressive punch up outside a bingo hall somewhere round their sh1t hole. At the time we thought nothing of these little days out. I'd almost certainly have a heart attack now. Perhaps its best its only on the tele

Been to plenty and they are quite an experience. Weirdly, I've watched us play them four times at their place but never in the away end. The most recent win and the 0-4 I was in the directors box, and I was in one of the greenhouses for a terrible Monday night 0-0 game.

The other game was when Kelvin Davis saved a penalty. My dad was a Watford fan but his business was in L*ton and so invariably he would often get free tickets through one contact or another, hence never being in the away end. For this game he had two tickets in their end behind the goal but at that time I wasn't aware of the significance or hatred involved. I had only been to two or three games so all I knew to do when Watford scored was jump up and celebrate, and so when Kevin Phillips equalised and ran into the away end I was on my feet cheering in the home end. Looking back I'd imagine my old man was feeling a bit uncomfortable at that moment.

I selected Bournemouth, even though I haven’t been to a Bournemouth game, it seemed the less confusing answer.

Back in the late 70's/early 80's I worked with a guy who was a steward at the kennel and he got me into a game as a steward as long as I kept my mouth shut. I was behind the goal at the home end when we scored and I couldn't help myself!, the scummers behind me went beserk and I had to run around the pitch to the tunnel entrance where I was bundled out of the way and kicked out of the ground. He wasn't very happy with me at work on Monday morning.

I'm old enough to have been to a derby but never have.

Used to live further away, mind you.

And never fancied the idea of any trouble.

Just counted them up and I reckon I've been to 35, home and away, including cup games. It was also the very first match I went to in 1970. (0-1 defeat, needless to say.)

I remember seeing us lose 3-2 when Richard Jobson o.g.'d. Been to many home evening derbies which we always seemed to lose 1-0. Saw us lose 2-1 to that Matt Spring goal as well.
The only one I remember us winning was the 4-3 in the FA Cup when Paul Walsh nearly ruined everything by being a bit too good on the left wing

I was at the famous 4-0 win at the Kennell, I was also at other games there too.

One season I actually ended up in a fight with a few of the mongrels, they charged into our end as we were leaving and a lot of our guys were legging it back into our terraces, but me being a bit of a hot head, I actually ran straight into them, and ended up with my back to a wall with about three or four of them trying to get at me, I was just about holding my own when the police arrived and they legged it, but one of the barstewards got my scarf during the ruckus.

I don't remember why, but we were up the other end to where we normally were, it might have been a cup game maybe? I think the game ended as a 1-1 draw?

I do remember going to the Kennell now!

It was in the 80s. The scum invaded the pitch at the end of the game. They started throwing coins at us. We were fenced in (pre Hillsborough). The sun was behind us so it was easy to see the incoming missiles. Me and my mate collected a few quid that day.

Anything thrown back was coming out of the sun and took out a few of the scumbags on the pitch.

    Such fun.

Don't remember anything about the game though.

I am presuming the police wont let any pubs in herts or beds show this?

I was at possibly our last home fixture against them. I remember latching on to a crowd of maybe 2-300 horns walking through the pedrestrianised bit on the way up to the vic, and just when we got to the road the scum fan coaches turned up blocking our path. They were like a bunch of caged animals pounding on the windows etc before the coach back doors all opened and they began spilling out. After that I remember thinking it was a bit like Braveheart at the time, specially with multiple mounted police charging into the melee to try and break everybody up.

    Interesting day out.

What I will say is this, I hope the club put a gag order on Deeney before the game. Don’t need him spouting his rubbish and doing their teamtalk. They will already be fired up for the game, don’t need any extra motivation from our captain.

Went for the first time in 96 (0-0), then I'm sure I went the following season when Jackett was in charge but I can't remember anything about it! Was at the 4-0 in 97 and then I don't remember playing them again at the dump until 2006 when I went to the 2-1 win.

Voted no, even though I have. This poll is not going to reflect who's actually been to a derby at all is it!

Been to quite a few, 1st one as a lad of about 12 I would think. We were caged in and getting squashed with the next cage completely empty and a gap after it. A few were getting emotional as I recall. Early 80's, may have been a boxing day game but not sure.

Had my car shot at with an air rifle several times after one game, must have been a crap one as the pellets bounced off the windows.

Also had to jump into a moving car after one as the police opened the barriers holding the animals back when I was just a couple of yards past them. Think I set a new PB that day, there was quite a lot of them.

Guess the last one was the cup game at the Vic where there was a bit of pitch strolling going on, scummers in the lower Rouse I think?

Don't remember the results of many but we usually lost so I probably erased them quite quickly.
