appreciated nath. for what its worth in my job i deal with massive emotional highs and lows nearly every day of the week, there is a reason so many veterinary surgeons commit suicide. i am a very positive person, but my colleagues who tend towards a realistic or more pessimistic nature do run into problems.

I imagine when you’re elbow deep in a cow’s anus you have time to think about the real meaning behind Pozzo’s transfer strategy and how unfair it is Watford will never be truly accepted by the football aristocracy.

I hear Gino reads these boards, he's gonna play him and Sarr against Newport just to spite the bedwetters. The joke's on him though, as they'll both break their legs

L'Equipe reporting we're after €20-25m. I think that's pretty reasonable, whether Marseille are willing and able to go that high, whether we'll capitulate, or whether he'll end up playing for us is another matter

    Is Grant Holt still around?

The obvious option is right under our nose. Why don’t we just give Deeney £20m to stay for one more year?

We’ll get it alright. £5m for Suarez and another £20m to smooth over the Gueye thing.

€20m is probably okay business from a purely financial perspective. However, if it means our striking options are Perica, Gray and Murray it is **** business because it means we are 100% going to be stuck in this division come this time next year.

We have scored two goals in three games now, so why are we gagging to sell a young talented attacking player while useless ***** like Welbeck and Pereyra are being paid to doss around in training.

Even worse that we are desperate to do it with a club that just embarrassed us in Marseille.

I just do not understand this club at all.

Because it's cracking business. Just because you don't celebrate it - the Watford Twitterati - made up of podcast hosts with mohawks, the 1881, that guy that makes the banners, the bloke that looks like a thumb and the **** Arsenal Fan TV knock off - will.

Might have missed it but where you getting that we're desperate to sell to Marseille? Seems like the club set their price for what they seem reasonable, and they're one of the interested clubs.

We're not. All we've been told repeatedly from Leventhal is that we want to keep him if at all possible, but clubs are interested.

We will see. If neither him or Sarr are in the squad by next weekend I think we know the truth of the matter.

James Garner was slotted in having done one or two days of training and even if Suarez was only 30% fit he would still run rings around Grandpa Glenn.

Next weekend is too soon. These will go down to the last week - but there doesn't appear to be desperation. We know there's interest, but it seems the club have set a value where they would sell - If there's a potential to get the fee they want, then they won't risk them getting injured.

Garner - he isn't even our player, if he's injured we don't lose much financially - depending on the wage etc but don't foresee that being huge.

If they choose to put a weakened squad out against these and lose... Unforgivable

  28. Cude>2<

What's a weakened side look like next week then? How many players do we throw in who might be rusty through lack of games?

I'd like to see the bench being stronger with Sarr, maybe Capoue being in there. Hopefully Murray is and Perica being in. What else would you do?

  29. barely1egal

If we didn't want to sell them they would be playing. It is as simple as that. The fact they aren't playing is a very clear indication the club want to sell them.

If we were getting significant bids for them and talks were in an advanced stage, that is a different matter. However, while the bids aren't anywhere near what we want there is absolutely no good reason they shouldn't be playing.

Palace have a figure they would sell Zaha at but they wouldn’t be so idiotic as to not play him and significantly weaken themselves just out of fear. We really are a circus.

  31. Cude>2<

    Cude>2< First Team Captain

No one is denying the fact that they might be sold. The club needs to make ends meet, but there's nothing desperate about it, the longer they're at the club the better.

Negotiations can change very quickly, so you never know when bids might advance. We also don't know the mindset of the player. Ivic seems like the type who'd only want to play those committed to the cause to play, and Suarez's agent hasn't exactly been keeping quiet.

  32. Cude>2<

    Cude>2< First Team Captain

Palace's financial position is different to ours. We need to offload a couple of players to make ends meet, Palace to my knowledge don't. That's not to say all our PL players will leave, but some need to.

But they are clearly not as f5ck3d financially as we are, so the comparison is not really valid.

You honestly think the correct course of action here is to not play anybody who has a possibility of being sold until the transfer window shuts in middle of October? In fact perhaps we need to not play them at any point up to end of January unless a January sale is at risk?

This approach the owners are taking is ridiculous. Sell them if a good offer comes in by all means. But they should play and contribute in the meantime.

The players who want to be here are nowhere near good enough to get us promoted, so if we persevere in this ridiculous approach we will be stuck down here.

I am not denying that are sales that need to be made, but how many sales do we need to make? Pereyra, Deeney, Deulofeu, Welbeck have basically decided unilaterally they will never play for us again. We have already sold £40m. Unless we are £200m in debt we would be absolutely ******* mental to be going out of our way to sell all of our promising youngsters.
