It is right to be critical of various things the Pozzos have got wrong, but important to retain perspective. Imagine the state of the club if Bassini had stayed in charge. If there even is a club! I had a bit of a foot in mouth moment at work recently when I was whining to the new starter about some trivial inconvenience in my life. Then I remembered the new starter was a Ukrainian refugee.
The best bit was there wasn’t even a world exclusive. He genuinely thought everyone believed he was reading from a genuine independent Financial Assessment on himself. Rather than a set of randomly made up (and perfect rounded off) figures. ‘Credit cards? Nil!!!!’ Because no one in their right mind would even give him an Aqua credit builder card. Yes he’s ill. Yes he probably needs help. But when you start throwing muck and making enemies at every turn, the amount of people willing to listen and help when you’re being genuine evaporates. TalkSport should close the channel of communication they are giving him now though - no one buys they are doing it to keep Birmingham fans updated. It’s an opportunity to laugh and make sound bites. And it’s worked.
But as I said earlier, Bassini is ground zero for football club owners, a mentally ill, deluded, multiple bankrupt narcissist. If the Pozzos didn’t buy us whoever eventually did would’ve still been better than Baz.
Whilst I agree, this is a forum. The posts are in black and yellow/white and it’s almost impossible to show human feeling, emotion and perspective. Your face to face conversation with a Ukrainian refugee is nothing like an online debate with Nath regarding a new striker for example. If it were face to face, I dare say it would go smoother and more polite. Perspective is of course nice and should be a consideration. But I don’t think you can use it too much on a platform like this. Yes seeing this about Bassini reminds us of how it could have been (he’s more crazy now though) - but it’s a false equivalence when people talk as if we got rid of Pozzo now, we’d get a Bassini type character. Fairly obvious he’s unique!

We didn't hear from him much, certainly nothing like this. He had some scheduled appearances but cancelled them due to a string of obviously nonsense reasons. The biggest red flag at the time was that Graham Taylor was publicly very critical of him, which was extremely unusual for GT.

That was actually posted via Simon Jordan’s official Twitter account. I think Bassini just likes the attention. He’s getting more and more outrageous so he will get banned from taking over Birmingham. That way he can play the victim card again and blame those nasty EFL people for not allowing to purchase the club he would have won the league with, spending his £235m in doing so.
