Get the feeling Pearson would like a new player or two but in public at least isn't going to kick up too much of a fuss. https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/team-news-welbeck-available-everton For now anyway!
Surely only the very gullible can fall for any spin anymore. Pozzo and Giraldi are outgunned and out thought. Ineffectual lightweights hoping that Pearson saves them.
I will say again Berge is a gamble. He's very comfortable on the ball but once under pressure he can like any player crack. IMO not a sheff Utd type player but maybe as said they are trying to adapt to the league with a different style.
I have to agree. Kabasele getting a new contract and a eulogising interview with Mariappa the day before the window closes. Pure Bantz from Gino, Affleck and the gang. Giraldi will be happy tomorrow with no discussions to be held - he can dedicate himself to undermining the coaching team all day.
Brighton have agreed a deal for Tariq Lamptey from Chelsea. Only played one game (2nd half vs Arsenal) but looked very good. We should’ve gone in for him. You can never have too many right backs.
Just close this section of the site down. Replace it with a Gardening Gossip section. Is it too early for my bulbs to be coming out?
Agree, but we actually have strength in depth at RB (Top top players like Mariappa, Kiko and a never fit Janmaat)
Looking for highlights but sounds like this lad is going to attract interest.- seems like he's developing into a decent asset. https://twitter.com/Robertonical/status/1222981441669206016?s=19
Leventhal talked about him earlier and that we are still interested but the player is currently happy where he is
The player is happy where he is? Then let’s be polite and not rock the boat. If the club want him, then go and get him?! If he doesn’t want to move, drop the interest! Sometimes I think we just purposely make things difficult (ie. keep a story going for fans that they have no intention following through on)
Giroud has turned down Newcastle because he wants to stay in London. Therefore it seems like a no brainer to me that we should at least try and get him in, got to be worth a try as we can't be confident that Welbeck will stay fit for the next two weeks let alone the rest of the season.
You should go and see him in person and try to convince him. Also maybe a contribution to his £150k a week wages might swing things for Gino. If Giroud refuses to talk, just start barking 'we need a ******* striker' at him endlessly. Works wonders on here.
‘Tis true. Players blasting over from 5 yards is a factor. As is the imbecilic decision to re-hire the awful Flores who played for goal less draws at home.
This window reminds me of the summer of 95. Ceefax had a page summarising all the deals with Birmingham bringing in about 6 players etc. Final line was “Glenn Roeder has acquired Steve Cherry”.
He has scored only 2 goals in 15 La Liga 2 matches this season. He hasn't even been a regular first choice starter for them. He's clearly just having the game of his life in a cup competition, it happens now and then, like that Jason Cummings bloke vs Liverpool at the weekend. Suarez is 2 years younger than Aias has 14 goals in 24 games this season in the same league tis season. Here are his goals, the first a good finish, the second a big deflection:
With the way Pearson was talking about Welbeck yesterday, no one should be expecting a striker today. We have enough of them already. Whether they are good enough or not is a different matter....
Maybe it’s a different Giroud? Maybe it’s that 17yr old Giroud at Leicester that no one has un-earthed yet?
