Yes players can improve and change value. But as a rule selling players you already own and then buying them back for vastly inflated fees isn’t a great business model. Not sure what point you are trying to make to be honest.
Ryan Bennett appears to be moving on loan from Wolves to Leicester Strange one but allowing Benkovic to leave on loan means that Leicester are short of cover at CB Looks like it will leave Wolves short at the back too.
I’d only say it’s strange on Bennett’s behalf - moving from a club where he’s not playing to a club where he won’t be playing. On Leicester’s part it makes total sense - allow a young CB out to get regular game time and get another fairly competent body in the door to take his squad place in an emergency. I agree it leaves Wolves a bit short though. They’ll probably get Gibson now.
Yeah, meant strange from a wolves perspective as they had a crisis at CB earlier in the season. I know that they have Saiss & Dendonker that can cover but they must have someone lined up to come in.
Dyche saying he doesn’t expect anymore business to be done for Burnley. Would be infuriating/funny if it wasn’t so predictable on our behalf.
8 hours left, 9 if you include the extension. Still plenty of time to make something happen. Even if we don’t, we have enough about us to get out of the relegation zone. Come May, we will all be looking back and laughing at some of the comments on here.
In all fairness, I really did think we would thrash Villa. They are such a poor side. I said it somewhere else, I’m more embarrassed about our first team losing to them, than I am our u18’s losing to Tranmere.
Who have we signed in January that turned out to be worthwhile (for that season)? Tozser Watson All the rest have ranged from injured to appalling to diabolical. Briggs Diakite Zarate Neill Suarez And far too many more...
So, Prodl to Udinese if Gibson joins. If he doesn't (Burnley don't want to let him go for now as per AL), Prodl stays. Quina to get a Championship loan and Success & Dele-Bashiru to stay put?
He's done well back in Scotland before - I suspect that he'll move on permanently in the summer. Wish him all the best.
Well, this day and window as a whole has gone exactly how I expected. Utter crap. How many windows are we going to fail in? We deserve to go down just for the mixture of incompetence sprinkled with a bit of arrogance and/or ignorance.
There's still time. Hopefully a 17 year old defender from Huddersfield linking up with our U18 squad will change your tune.
I thought we were supposed to be loaning out either Bachmann or Dahlberg? Haven't heard any rumours on either.
Calm down m8. Just like last January, we'll sort the defence over the summer when there's more value.
So all the Pozzo fans kept saying that even though our recruitment was negligent last summer we would make amends in the January transfer window and would surely be planning this meticulously in preparation to correct major weaknesses in the squad and maximise the chances of maintaining our Premier League status. Instead we sign a kid from Brazil who might be useful in a couple of years but is probably not Premier League quality for now and a Udinese reserve midfielder. Last summer we ' fixed' our defensive issues with the signing of a Championship central defender and obviously the owners were more than happy with not learning lessons because they have continued the policy of doing virtually nothing this transfer window. I am guessing they are hoping Sarr makes a good enough impression between now and the end of the season so they are in a position to sell him to free up funds for summer transfer activity. Although I would hope he stays for a few more years. Without major sales we are not signing anyone of proven quality in the summer either even if we maintain our Premier League status. I genuinely think we needed to loan in a quality striker who was able to score around 10 goals up until the end of the season. That we have not is deeply disappointing. I am not very confident in Welbeck, Gray and Deeney being able to provide the goals for us despite Deeney's recent good form. I am sure it is harder to do business in January but hopefully we get our injured players returning soon and that will be enough to maintain our status.
When will people learn, we’re just operating with the same model we operated with in the championship with managers like Dyche and Mackay. Scrapping around for bargains that might make it. We’re just operating with a bigger budget.
Pederson not happening because we won't pay enough oh and Gibson loan offer turned down because we won't pay enough. Think it's time we got one of those Middle Eastern chaps in.
