Either you are one of the owners involved, a sneaky grass, Marco Silva or talking ****.

    Which one?

  3. The Watford official, you say? Sounds very ITK...

I don't remember watching much of the Kirby seasons, but I understood he had pretty much zero in terms of decent players or money to work with. Keen was an advocate of advanced, subtle football and the moves his teams put together could look promising and attractive. It may well be he could have coped with this as a player (he was a good player) but his squad were not advanced or subtle enough to carry out his wishes. And I'm guessing he probably couldn't communicate his ideas effectively (?).
    Barrow-boy Bassett had no excuses.

I agree with 99% of this. But January window is generally based around paying an inflated premium for lower quality. Anyone of any genuine magnitude will cost a fortune in January. We need to be looking at taking players who are doing a good job in the sides they are at now and turning their head. Players like that will cost a fortune in January or even more likely, won’t be available at all. You get players like Kaboul in January. Otherwise we’ll end up with cast-offs and stop gaps like Wague. I’d love to be wrong but I don’t see any major improvement to our defence until the summer.

A more cost-effective option might be to bring in a defensive coach who's an expert on set-pieces, either permanently or a retiree on a short-term contract.

Did Hull have such a bad record with corners last season?

What surprises me is not just the pure ineptitude of the implementation of the zonal marking. It is also that we don't even have players in positions to counter attack if we do get the ball.

All ten players are essentially back defending, and we aren't giving the opposition anything to think about whatever happens.

It is supposed to be incredibly rare for teams to actually score from corners.

There's only one thing that'd stop me supporting WFC for a bit. That's the thing. Oh, and possibly sporting WONGA on our shirts.

Marco Silva odds of becoming next Everton manager suddenly shortened massively to 2/1, not sure why seems a bit weird, hopefully nothing in it.

The bookies are going to do well. Silva would be mad to move now. Everton like West Ham have delusions of grandure but are both currently in disarray. They will do well to back Unsworth now he has something to build on.

Just seen that . He is now the big favourite with the bookies.

I can't find any news stories that would lead to that information being driven by betting public .

One of the bookies must have got whiff of something and all the others followed .

It's very rare the bookies get something wrong. Would be a shame but not the end of the world.

We would look a bit crap though, wouldn't we? Generally smirked at for changing managers and then we let Silva go after a good start. I'm thinking this is merely a bookies ploy to fire up some interest.

If we let Silva go to Everton we should try and get Sean Dyche back.

Always thought it a bit strange that players have a transfer window but managers/coaches don’t. If Silva goes I wonder if the focus from the media will be on how intelligent our model is to not rely too heavily on one man or that we are getting what we deserve from the way we treat our coaches? Naturally this is a rhetorical question.
