Is Marco Silva all that?

Seems he went to Goodison yesterday and has been offered a lucrative package. By the sounds of it, he's very tempted.

My sauce is that Reggae Reggae stuff.

IF he has gone up there, I'd tell him to pack his bags now. You don't do that a few months into a job, not unless it's for a ridiculously big opportunity, and Everton certainly aren't that.

You do if you realise you have made a big mistake and the owners haven't kept their promises. Also Everton now have a billionaire owner so money will be no object for them.

My big worry is if Silva does go there he will take Richarluson with him in January.

    The bookies.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but they've made Silva the favourite for the Everton job. This has just happened and they normally know what's happening.

Sunday times saying their sources believe that Silva has said he won't leave mid season.
    There are also rumours from
The Times saying Dyche is now their favoured candidate .

Pure speculation but I reckon they held interviews yesterday , Silva went up there possibly with a view to agreeing to join next season but to hear them out at least . He got spotted in Liverpool , and so some Scouser piled a load on Silva and the bookies got spooked and dropped the odds massively . It seems strange that they dropped dramatically over night with no press story to back it up.

Koeman , Ancelotti , Tuchel and Holloway have also been rumoured to be seen waiting nervously in the lobby of a Watford hotel whilst holding their CVs in their hands .

Just because he has been made favourite doesn't really imply anything though does it?

I mean, we are 2nd favourites to sign Luke Shaw in January...

Bookies are actually rarely right on these markets until pretty much an hour before the new manager is announced. Such a volatile market with prices changing on hearsay and speculation.

If he has gone up there, I wonder if it is with the clubs blessing but possibly with a caveat that they would not want to let him go in the first year of his contract so if Everton want him straight away it would be a problem.

Surely they have to get the Pozzo's approval before approaching Silva?

If (and it is a big if) Silva has agreed to join Everton next sesson, I would rather he goes now.

Wasn't he upset that we didn't get Gibbs and one or two other signings?

I know there was some comment reported he wasn't ecstatic with our defensive signings towards the end of the window but that's hardly tantamount to broken promises. If Gibbs didn't want to come then he didn't want to come. That's in nobody else's hands.

He needs to commit to his 2 yr contract - it’s not like he signed a really long term deal. Just see it out, do a great job, then listen to offers. If he’s listening to offers now then he might as well leave now.

I don’t know. I can’t blame anyone to look at offers which come their way in football. If we were to lose the next 6 games for example you could certainly see the club getting rid of him. It’s the way football rolls these days. Contracts are barely worth the paper they are written on. It’s a very selfish sport for something which is a team game.

If he goes now, he'll get life membership to a very select club with fellow members Dave Bassett, Lee Cook and Mike Williamson.

    Let's be fair and realistic.

He knew when he took the job that our resources aren't massive. We knew that he'd see us as a stepping stone... to increase his stock before taking a bigger job in a year or two.

He might have missed out on defenders, but he knew he wasn't coming to Barcelona, and the injuries are something that managers of the calibre he aspires to be have to deal with at some point.

If he wants to improve his stock, not just as a manager but as a man to employ, he'd better be thinking it'll be better to honour his contract here at least for this season.

Leading Watford anywhere above the relegation places will improve his stock in the eyes of the wider football world. Barring a freak disaster, it's in his interests to stay. Will he put integrity and sense before whatever carrot Everton are dangling? That's the question. We'll find out a lot about what sort of bloke Mr Silva is over the next day or so, and if he falls short of what we've got a right to expect of him, then we're best rid, and Everton will feel the same in the not too distant future.

Let's hope he makes the right decision, for him as well as us.

Really don't care if he goes, average Head Coach that is replaceable. Hope Richarlison and Doucoure don't go with him though.

Either he wears the same polo shirt regularly and doesn't mind the cold or its from him joining Olympiakos.
