Following his stunning full international debut, how about a chant for him? (Also posted in chants thread in 1881) To tune of "my garden shed"

Oh Ikichi (oh Ikechi)'s a sweaty now (a sweaty now),
    Oh ikechi's a sweaty now,
He even deep fries his Mars bars,
    Ikechi's a sweaty now!?

    OK, maybe not!

I doubt it was the Scots giving the abuse.

You're right that the McScroongers don't deserve him, but I think you'll find it was the Macedonia fans giving him stick.

Fair enough, but have seen a lot of comments saying how 'Anya isn't Scottish', half their bloody team are probably in the squad through a grandfather!

Anya is different gear. By far our best player at the moment and can turn the game on it's head. How Deeney didn't score off his delivery today I will never know. The boy was a rough diamond and we've really polished him up.

Totally agree about Anya. He has to start if he is fit, he gives the opposition a major headache and they are so afraid of him. He needs to improve his delivery though because with his pace defenders are going to back off from him and he is going to get more space for a good cross and at the moment its still quite poor. If he can really harness and develop that he would be even more dangerous and be another level up. He has got something very special and is a demonstration as to what you can do if you don't give in and keep working at it.

Ikechi was getting unfair stick up until late last season. I remember the slagging he got from some in the Blackburn home post game thread.

I wonder if the same posters have ''seen him have a good game for us yet''?

Do you think that was unjustified? I'm not one of those who criticised him (at least, I don't think I am), but I'm sure Ikechi would be the first to admit that he's now at a much higher level than he was when he joined us - which is why he's now one of the first names on the team sheet instead of one of the last to squeeze on the bench.

Rather than complain at those who may have been negative about him, how about some positivity about him becoming a better player?

I'm not gonna lie, I was one of the negative ones. Always thought his hard work running all the way up the pitch at blistering pace only to dilly dally and lose the advantage you gain from running that fast was a shame. Now his decision making has improved he's a lot more effective, exciting and a genuine joy to watch. Easily our most consistent performer so far.

The fact is, when he first turned up, Anya was ineffective. He was always running down blind alleys, he couldn't cross or beat a man, and he genuinely did look like a sprinter in football boots. Cassetti and Pudil were far and away the best wide defenders we had.

However, unlike other players that have had the "useless" treatment I seem to recall that actually, we could all see that if he improved a couple parts of his game we would have a great player on our hands, rather than the slating which seems to have been suggested in this thread.

This has happened and it's just another player that Zola has turned into a really good footballer.

You know what, I'm not surprised by this. We are after all Watford fans...

It's not the most creative one but we should give it a go if it hasn't been properly done yet.

The one you're thinking of though is:

    There's only one Ikechi Anya,
He eats chips wi' his lasagne,
Fae Castlemilk, he's smooth as silk
    Walking in Ikechi's wonderland
