Whilst the club have sensibly not put a target in the eyes of the fanbase verbally, all the indicators are they have still set that as the only target.

I countered that the accounts during the good times were worrying and are only going to get worse. I think the Pozzos have led us into a very vulnerable place. You think they are good custodians. Fair enough.

Just don’t call people embarrassing for complaining about them when your support is pretty much based only on blind faith that they know what they are doing. You’re a hypocrite.

I’m okay with that being the target. But I think if the clubs actions since the final day of last season are the beginnings of their blueprint to achieve that target, then I think they will miss the target. By quite some distance. And it’s fair for fans who feel that way to air their grievances in whatever way they wish.

I wish I had your confidence. I think we have serious financial problems now. I thought we could clear the deck and start over but the trouble we are having shifting the likes of Deeney, Pereyra and Capoue as well as the poor fees received for Doucoure and Estupinan make me worry the bottom has dropped out of the market. Add to that ludicrous contract extensions for Capoue, Cathcart and Janmaat.

And yes our finances were run poorly in the good times, but we had premier league revenue to offset it, or at least service it. Now we are in a real hole.

Ultimately it’s pointless making these posts as people not happy with my posts will rewrite history in 12 months when we are really in strife and say they saw it coming due to Covid and back Pozzo to “sort it out”. Just like they do with the people who foresaw last season’s debacle. We have odd fans who are completely in awe of our owner. It’s an interesting study.
